I'm not a ballerina or an expert on ballet or anything but this really moved me. I haven't seen all of Swan Lake so I didn't realize she was gonna jump off the cliff thing at that moment. I said "Nooo!" out loud XDDD My mom was like What's wrong? It was so dramatic! Marianela is definately my favorite Odette&Odile.

Marianela is divine. But Dowell's version is very ugly, also the music he chose for the 4º act.

My apologies. You're absolutely right. VB is actually Opus 11!! . I'm just so not used to Drigo's cuts/substitutions in this ballet-(my choice of recording being the unaltered Dutoit 77' rendition of the score vs. the Fedotov/Drigo's edited one, even being an amazing orchestration).

I went to see Thiago and Marianela in The Sleeping Beauty last week at the Royal Opera House and they were incredible!!!

I even went round to the stage door where I met them and got their autographs; they were really nice!!!

I'm going to have to get this DVD.

The DVD is magnificent although I prefer Swan Lake set in earlier times rather than being brought forward to Tchaikovsky's time. I'm just an old romantic at heart.
