I don't even live in the UK but I still just care about UK sales, because when I look at it. The only LEGENDARY US act is Elvis. UK? You got Queen, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and I'm sure I've forgotten some. And Bohemian Rhapsody wasn't even #1 in the US, so that shows that we're not the brightest stars in the sky. (We, as in people who live in the US).

Best estimates by RCA are that Elvis sold 1.5 billion records until 1975. I am not aware of the sale number for the past 34 years but Elvis has long past the 2 billion mark. It is an unbelievable number, a record that will not be broken. I believe Bing Crosby is second, actually ... and I believe he is followed by the Beatles

May I also point out that Queen have sold more records than Elvis. I know it dosen't mean Elvis is better, but it means that there are possibly more fans, and perhaps that Queen had more hits than Elvis. And, in a poll that took place in 66 countries, We Are The Champions was voted The World's Favorite Song. Elvis didn't even make the top 10. And the only reason we mention these polls is because it's refreshing to have the truth proven in vote.

The reason Elvis sold so many tickets and records is that it was more about the "Elvis" image. It was "Omygosh, it's Elvis!". In the studio, for Queen, it was about the music, on stage, it was about the fans, the fans need to have a good time! And the way Freddie wrote music wasn't just a unique way of writing, it was Art that he wrote.

Anyone who knows music knows We Will Rock You, that song created equality between Queen and the fans, which if 1/2 of what showmanhsip is about, the other half is making sure the fans have a good time, and I'll admit Elvis accomplished that. Elvis did NOT create equality between him and the fans. Freddie fans like us do not compare Ann Wilson to Freddie because we are smart enough to know that Freddie is better.

He fused Gospel, County, and Blues into what we know today as Rock-n-Roll. Now there were others out there doing this kind of music, but Elvis really took it globally. Listen D-Bag...Elvis played the first basically un-plugged in the 1968 TV Special. He played the first concert to be viewed live worldwide to over a million people bu Satelite in Aloha from Hawaii. We all know he enjoyed much more success then Queen did as far as sales goes. Didn't Brian May write the songs with Freddie.
