I own a 2006 eclipse gt auto with a full catback and headers and I've beaten 2 g35's and 1 350 z and I beat a Audi quatro last night and I've beaten a mustang gt the eclipse's are fast with a couple of mods , so everyone quit talking shit about them the look better then the z and the g35 too

i have a 4th gen GT and I rape every g35 and 350z that I race against. Only Z i lost to was a boosted one. Ive also beat a 370z on the interstate from 70-120mph. I have the RIPP headers, magnaflow catback, KN intake, eibach sportline, BFG KDW tires. A lot of people underestimate the GT

@ambientflier Ummm, you forget that a FWD eclipse pulls harder than a RWD Z. You cant lose much HP on a FWD that has an engine mounted right down the front specially from a pull. I've seen 300HP 4G eclipses do faster 1/4 miles than 370z

@Cloudstrife1188 First of all, fwd doesn't make it pull harder. It has less drivetrain loss, but less hp too.

Second, sure, a 300hp Eclipse can do a better mile than a 370Z...or a Mustang GT...or a Nissan GT-R...if the other guy can't drive well. Low 13's 370Z? An eclipse has no chance in hell.

I just imported stock 03 G35 manual transmission 3 days ago, and the firs car that raced me on the drag was 06 stock eclipse, we raced 5 times and I smoked it, so really depends on driver though, we than changed cars and G35 smoked it again, I'm not saying that eclipse isn't a fast car but there's no way that it'll smoke G35 I mean both stock cars. later I'll put some vids so u can see it.

Wonder why so many ppl hate eclipse...As a driver of 08 stock eclipsegt I never lost to Zs, S2000, Altima, and others. the only car i was beaten from was Mazdaspeed3...Anyway, the acceleration of these cars are very dependent to driver anyway. No argue!

Maybe thats cause they dnt know how 2 use the cars my friends and i are pretty close he only got me once and that was on a 20 roll and by 70 it was neck 2 neck and we both have around the same upgrades all i have that he doesnt is my chip that lets me rev 2 7200 but its all driver cause weve both have beat other g's and z's dont mean we're faster just better drivers..

BTW, The 04 and 05 g's will leave any 06-07 and 03 g in the dust, 04 and 05 were the best years for that car. I'm not saying your eclipse is slow but theres very little ppl that can drive out there and maybe your z guys should learn a little unless u have upgrades and they dont

@occckid123 Lol sorry bro, but neither a G35 or a G37 can beat an eclipse GT. So an altima would def not stand a chance. I've gone head to head against a G37. Off first gear we are close by because of the FWD traction i get, but once i go onto second from 42MPH or so, its all up hill from there. I start to pull away and once in 3rd i go all the way to 115MPH.

@Cloudstrife1188 Oh man, do you actually believe that bs? An automatic G37 sedan got 5.0 to 60 and 13.5 in the 1/4 in the motortrend test, and good drivers on the boards are hitting those numbers easy. An eclipse can't break into the 13's stock.

Now you're telling me that you pull away from a G37 in 3rd, Infiniti's strongest gear, a car that traps 105+ in the quarter mile? HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

@ambientflier Soo you wanna talk videos? Why is it that every video on here about a G37 racing a 4th G eclipse ends up in the eclipse winning? I clearly said the Eclipse can outhandle the 350z and its a proven fact, slalom tests show it. I drive a supercharged 4G eclipse and damn proud. Looks better than any Z by far, and trust me, with 500 HP and some to spare its a shitload quicker.

And how does your third go to 115? Are you actually driving an auto??? You're claiming to beat a G37 with an auto eclipse???

Yeah, the '07 and on G35 sedans, and the G37 with the VQHR engine would have pulled you pretty good. Hell, I don't know why even this G35 didn't. It has the older engine, but should still be faster. You're probably a better driver. Anyway, good race, and I like the eclipses too, except for the friggin iron block over the front wheels.

yea the HR is easyer to mod but not to tune.

i had a 08 G35 sport and it was hard to tune an exhaust and intake and didnt want to go thru the hassle of a custom turbo set up

Just a simple AEM intake, eibach pro lowering kit... about it for now. Yea i looked into the 35 and 37 sedan's and they are fast but i won't say who would win til i race one. Besides; on paper the G35 Coupe is suppose to beat my eclipse Gt and yet.. no luck.

The G37 is NOT harder to tune. Easier, in fact. The HR engine responds far better to mods than the DE did. There are 300+ whp Z's running around with just simple bolt-ons, with the 3.5 HR.

The vq35de enigne is super easy to tune.

bu the vq35hr and the vq37vhr engine are way more difficult.

The HR engine responds horribly to mods compared to the de engine.

you can easily get 30 to 40 HP put of the DE engine with just an intake and full exhaust i mean full from headers to tip.

the HR engine loses torque with an open filter intake and the exhaust that makes the most power sounds the worst(not gonna say brands)

No. The 3.5 HR engine is EASIER to mod than the DE. Look on the Z forums. There are 320whp Z's with the HR engine, with basic bolt-ons, and the DE engine cars are lucky to hit 300whp.

Is it true that the HR will lose hp with aftermarket intakes, but that's because the stock ones are designed so well in the first place.

Full exhaust + Tune/Reflash = 300+ whp on an HR Z.

@sterlingnobles Actually no its not Auto vs auto Its only .1 faster than the G35 sedan If there M/T there exactly same 0-60 and quarter mile time only reason why the auto is actually a little quicker than before is because of the 7 spd tranny vs the old 5 spd
