  • There is an easier way! Open ubuntu update manager of 11.10 then update everything. Now on the hamachi download page download the .deb file. And click on it this should take you to ubuntu software center. Now install it and enjoy :)

  • Helpful tip....

Instead of typing the entire path just type something like "cd /root/Desktop/logme[tab]"

Linux will fill in the rest for you (provided you have permission to read it)

I believe pretty much all recent versions of linux have the [tab] autocomplete feature

  • For those who get access denied, you'll have to log into you're root account. You will have to search up a tutorial on doing that. Thumbs up if I helped =]

  • it says access is denied

  • omg why you have that crap link to your account !!

  • The server I want to join has a name that contains both spaces and exclamation points. When I type exclamation points, it inserts previous commands. I tried the escape character (\), but it does not solve the problem. Is there a solution that anyone knows of?

  • no such file or directory

    cd /root/Desktop/logmein-hamachi-2.1.0.17-x86

  • OK my bad i was being a dumb ass i didn't extract the .tgz file :(

  • You are a cunt for making your screen subscribe to you.

  • you know instead of typing in the whole folder name you can just start typing it then press tab and it'll guess

  • @TehBucket0 in addition, you may get an error installing (i did) "hamachi install needs lsb package" type sudo apt-get install lsb to install it

  • Shouldn't you just get the .deb? Isn't that ubuntu's installer??

  • You know you can just push tab and it would have auto-completed that huge filename for you.

  • sudo apt-get lsb

  • I followed steps and ran into a problem. (x64 ver)

here is the concerning terminal text after "sudo ./install.sh"

    ________

    Starting LogMeIn Hamachi2 service ..

Starting LogMeIn Hamachi VPN tunneling engine logmein-hamachi/sbin/start-stop-daemon: Unable to start /opt/logmein-hamachi/bin/hamachid: Exec format error (Exec format error) *

LogMeIn Hamachi2 is installed. See README for what to do next.

    _______

I have also apt-get installed the latest lsb package prior to the hamachi installation.

  • It's not allowing me access to the file around 2:45 in the video

  • @alkaun123 darkcronix@darkcronix-laptop:~$ cd /root/Desktop/logmein-hamachi-2.0.1.13-x86

    bash: cd: /root/Desktop/logmein-hamachi-2.0.1.13-x86: Permission denied

This is more specifically my problem

  • @alkaun123

i got the same problem, dont know how to fix it..... some budy knows??

  • @alkaun123 dude im gettin the same problem

  • @alkaun123 put "sudo su -" in the terminal.

  • @alkaun123 i got the same

  • @alkaun123 Me too, anyone have the answer?

  • @alkaun123 you need root permissions you can get it with alt+f2 then tick at Terminal and write gksu gnome-terminal. Then you are loget in as root and have permissions

  • @alkaun123 use su to become root, or better yet, learn to use sudo (rewuired on ubuntu where you don't have the root password): basically add sudo in front of your command to execute it as root, like so: sudo cd /root/Desktop/logmein-hamachi-2.0.1.13-x86.

It'll ask you for your password the first time you use sudo in a new terminal instance. This should work as long as you are a privileged user. If you've just installed ubuntu you're a privileged user.

  • @alkaun1go to its properties - permissions - and tick allow to be executing file as program. hope i helped

  • @alkaun123 must be root....

    (preferred) darkcronix@darkcronix-laptop:~$ sudo su

    or

    darkcronix@darkcronix-laptop:~$ su

  • @alkaun123

    darkcronix@darkcronix-laptop:~$

    should be

    root@darkcronix-laptop:~#

(notice the # sign instead of the $, # = superuser)

  • @alkaun123 Is anyone gonna give a response to this???

  • Thank you! <3

I did it at my linux mint 64bit, is there any way to show the hamachi in the right corner? xD

  • YOUR VIDEOS ARE THE BEST THANKS MAN

  • Fine its working but how can i have the interface hamachi?(ubuntu 10.04)

  • yeah, just as others say, you gotta get the lsb files from your Software Center, then it'll work. thanks a lot, man but i'd still like to know how you got the gui on there. or is that through wine?

  • Why not just grab the deb - and avoid installing via terminal?? In either case - great vid - your nick was Tweaku because you called it Tweaku when you tried to set it as "Tweak|Ubuntu"... So, theoretically you can now use VNC on this VPN to access, for example, your work or home computer?

  • @blahtoausername I have a question, I installed using the debian file but I can't find the program?

  • @OwNaGeOfDaLiAm The latest version of Ubuntu shows you where your apps are installed to in AppCenter/Software

  • I am using Mint 9.0 and i got the LSB error too, i just went to the Software Manager and installed LSB4.0, i also googled it and found various downloads for LSB.

  • When I try to install give me this error 'LogMeIn Hamachi2 needs lsb package' how do I install this packages? Btw I am using the same linux as you but the only different my is 64bit

  • @VilaTalismanBrasil I'm not sure why it wouldn't work. I used it on a 32 bit and they have the 64 bit drivers.

  • @TweakUniverse They keep asking me this 'LogMeIn Hamachi2 needs lsb package' how do I install this packages?? I am using Ubuntu 10.4 I changed today for the new version to see if it already had but they don't have this LSB package.

  • @VilaTalismanBrasil In this video i think the Ubuntu i was using is 9.04

  • @TweakUniverse Ok but do you know how I can install the LSB package?

  • @VilaTalismanBrasil Dont worry I finded how to install hehe thanks for the tutor ;)

  • @TweakUniverse Can you please find out how to find the LSB package because the same thing happened to me... i have Ubuntu 10.10

  • @TweakUniverse in terminal, as root - "yum lsb-package"

  • @VilaTalismanBrasil Just learned you can get LSB 4.0 on the Ubuntu Software center. Get that.

  • @VilaTalismanBrasil how are you running a 64 bit for personal use? I thought 64 was made for servers not personal use

  • @VilaTalismanBrasil You only have to install the lsb package with the synaptic package manager.

  • @VilaTalismanBrasil

you should run from terminal the following line:

    apt-get install lsb

and....that its all! (Solution for future visitors) :D

  • @VilaTalismanBrasil hey go to the download center and search for the lsb pacage and install it an do all the process again and its all

  • @VilaTalismanBrasil ... are you serious? use your package manager to install the package lsb. or a package that uncludes lsb
