  • that tuyet

  • inspiring video, amazing technique!

  • hey i just got my first tree for bonsai, a juniper procumbens nana. how old should i be before i start wiring it?

  • Never seen the "screw" technique before.Does that not cause much visual damage then after removing? And, with that much wiring, does that not impede the growth when it comes back to growing season? Awesome Vid again, Graham. Am a huge fan of your work. Thanks.

  • Awesome vid. The Larch is my all time fav species... Thanks.

  • this song sounds like something out of Spyro the Dragon

  • hi u are amazing!!!!!! i am new to the bonsai comunity and only have one small tree(i will get moor!) but the one i have right now is a 15 year old kingsvill boxwood. it is about nine inches tall with the trunk being as thick as the average index finger and in the shape of a mello zig zag. it splits into three primary branches(trunk included) and all form at the top into a big blob of foliage. i am thinkin of putign it into three apexes but am not sure. what do u think? thanks again:)))))))

  • Hi Graham great job everytime on every video

    greetings from Italy....

ps. I know your italian look-alike that just like you loves bonsai :) ihihihih

  • OMG! UPdate PLs!!

  • When i came back from holiday i saw a bonsai advert in the airport and immediately searched for it on utube , th first videos i saw were yours and they have realy inspired me and i bought my first 3 bonsais = chinese elm , picea and one called something like katsuki azuia or near that. thank you

  • I don't think I would have thought to keep that very first branch but by oding an awsome wiring job you made it work. Ane perhaps it sold to some one who is not concerned with all the Japanese rules like the first branch should be the heavyest and look the oldest. But as we know trees brake back on old wood often any ways.GL

  • I have to wear a bibb every time I watch your vids. Amazing work.

  • did you drill a screw into the bark then wrap the wire round it?

  • how long do the wires stay on the tree?

  • @michaeloart Watch the most recent movie on Wiring ;-)

    G.

  • hi! can u stlye my red ficus bonsai?

  • update please!!! what happened to this tree?

  • @m1as3900 Sold in the summer :-((

  • @GrahamWPotter AAaaah, what a shame, still I suppose you'll end up with a "forest" if you keep all of them.

    Keep up the good work!!!

  • @GrahamWPotter how much would a larch like this go for$? !?! ;¨o] man i love your work...

  • You're a real inspiration.

    I find your Bonsaig,

  • very impresiv ... good job

  • So basically you are "lion tailing" the tree to build up twigging?

  • I'm just wondering what are the tree's that you are using are they seedlings?

  • larix?

  • would love to see the progress of this bonsai

  • wow that's awesome!

  • Would love to get a play-by-play commentary on your thinking process when bending and deciding on placement of branches. You've got a great sense, and would love to pick your brain a bit.

  • Well Sir, you amazed and educated me on this one for sure! Whew! Very impressive work you do.

Typically how long would the majority of the wire remain on this tree before clipping them off?

Thanks for your great videos and dedication!

  • nice job.

  • WOW! That is amazing. I love your videos they are very helpfull for beginners. Can i sujest a video on wireing tricks, tips and advice. Thanks for all the help and keep em comeing!

  • totally bad ass as usual

  • I love your work!!!

  • Appears to be possibly slime fluxing toward the bottom. Do you have have any failure trees or projects? You should show us. I get so lost in your videos they are great

  • Nice Bonsai.

  • Great work again Graham!

  • No offence but how can you call this a Bonsai? It just looks like a full size tree thats been cut down. Look at the size of the trunk and the cuts at the top. This isnt a bonsai at all if you ask me

  • Comment removed

  • It's a bonsai in progress, with some work on the cuts and some more years of growth it will start to look a lot better.

  • No doubt it will but it still looks like a cut down tree rather than a bonsai

  • because if you actually practiced bonsai you would know that is a normal double trunk larch and if you looked at it with a bonsai artists eye you would know that it does, its people like you that really agitate me...

  • You have the best Bonsai videos on the internet. You do a great job of capturing the essence of your work while styling. Nice camera work and editing. Thanks again!

  • I still can't believe how much you bend the branches. I always think I'm going to break them.

  • @bigdearmond You can't bend branches like that on any tree- It varies- I guess larches have flexible branches- But try that on a boxwood and they'll snap clean off

  • Great video ! Your videos are my favorite bonsai instructional videos on YouTube.

Your ability to put serious bends in branches is amazing. Fearless!

  • nice work Graham! just one question. i see that on the thicker branches u used 3 wires to bend them. what is the difference between using more of a thin wire rather then using just one thick wire?

  • If I may answer this for you... Using two or three smaller diameter wire is often preferable to one large diameter wire for a couple of reasons. One, it's easier to put on without damaging the tree. Second, it tends to look nicer.

    Hope this helps. Ed

  • @jle237 i'd assume it would be more flexible

  • Thats some great work.
