  • Thanks you for the video. I have yet to find the origins of water kefir. I'm beginning to think that it was cultured from milk and just fed sugar water, - not yours, per se...just in general. I have access to LexisNexis and there is NOTHING on the history of where it originated.

  • how do you know if the kefirs are dead? i have kefir. its been in the fridge for 1 month. and i never chancged the water. and i gave sugar ones. i know this is not correct buut i didnt have time to take care of them. i want know. but i cannot be sure they are alive and stll useable? they are moving btw. pls help me

  • I put fruit in with the grains and have NEVER had a problem.

  • CAN U DRINK IT HAVIN A BABY

  • @cmr2020 I would not recommend drinking it if you are pregnant due to it might having a slight alcohol content. Though you could start drinking once you have the baby. I would just check with your doctor though.

  • but can you ferment it with fruit juices instead?

  • @stupidbrain1 No you can not ferment with fruit juices. water kefir works best with pure water and pure sugar and that is it. fruit juices could cause the kefir not to kefir correctly and grow those healthy bacteria. It is best to flavor once the water kefir is done fermenting.

  • @Pure2RawTwins after it has fermented you can add the juices to it and let it chill in refrigerator?

  • @stupidbrain1

correct, you can add fruit juice or any other flavorings once it is done being fermented! And set in refrigerator.

  • @Pure2RawTwins

You are soo wrong, who told you that you cant ferment fresh press juices with water kefir grains? Remember water kefir thrive on any liquid that contains any type of sugar. So to answer your question stupidbrain1, yes you can ferment fresh press juices with water kefir grains. Btw pure2rawtwins next time do your research, dont give the wrong answer to something youre not sure about.

  • @rockabilly thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. I do not think I am totally wrong I was doing what other friends of mine told me and what the lady who I bought the grains from said. I understand that water kekir likes sugar to ferment! I guess everyone can do their own thing and use whatever method works for them.
