It always makes me laugh when I watch Selena and am reminded some fools think little girls will never learn 'proper gender roles' without a mom. I see dolls, I see shoes, I see pretty pink clothes... I think she's pretty much set!

she doesn't - I certainly didn't. My point was that many people wrongly believe girls need a mother or they will not be able to fit into the gender roles that THEY think are important. As far as I'm concerned, it wouldn't matter even if children brought up in single sex households didn't fit into the standard gender roles - but others would disagree with me there.

Bryan can be self-depreciating about his hair dressing skills all he wants - he's doing a heck of a lot better that I ever could (which I completely blame on my mom - she's not much of a stylist either, so I didn't learn any tips there). Me and all my sisters had shoulder length hair at the longest until we were old enough to do it ourselves. I remember my friend being told that if she complained about tangles during brushing, it would all get cut off. I think the threat mostly worked.

My daughter is very much loved and happy. My daughter had a mother. Her mother decided that drugs where more important to her then her kids. In a perfect world kids deserve a mother and a father sadly thats not the world we live in. My daughter and son were adopted by us because no one else was willing to step up and show them the love they deserved. If more Straight people would adopt kids gay people wouldnt be adopting as much. My daughter had a lot of female family members.

Celtic, I was born with a lot of hair, by the time I was 7 it almost hit the floor. Ma believed girls should have long hair and boys have short hair. The washing, drying and combing was a nightmare. I want Bryan and Jay to do a video of Selena when her hair gets a lot longer. If they are having washing and combing issues now, OMG, wait a couple more yrs. Well, your two daddy fam is about as everyday and ho-hum as our two mommy clan. The big difference is that your daughter is WAY better about getting her hair done. Ours is a mass of curls and she used to cry like a madwoman. She's 13 now and does it herself, thank goddess. REALLY cute room BTW. I miss having a "little" girl. Our daughter's room is purple and BLACK now. Emo hell.
