  • I saw God tonight

  • @LetGoAndLove Heard the silence, as it were.

  • Never fails to be anything but amazing.

  • such a great song! why such silly arguing in the comments??? :P

  • @cathyt2009 Let's keep praising the song and at least push them into the next page.

  • Another GREAT one!!! I LOVE his music!!!

  • the most amazing thing about youtube is that no matter what kind of video you are watching, there will nearly always be some ongoing argument in the comments section. People flexing their internet muscles and name calling. It would all just stop if people wouldn't bother leaving negative comments... if you don't like something.. don't even finish watching it.. don't even bother taking the time to comment. Just go find something more to your preference and stop stirring up shit.

  • I love Matt's nostalgic drive. My favorite songs by him are usually themed around love and youth...two things that he portrays amazingly!

  • incredible track. moves me to tears. also it reminds me a LOT of god is an astronaut, if they had a vocalist. anyone agree?

  • Even as a small child, Matt good's music was among my favorites. Why? Because even children can't deny the soul in it. Now, a grown man, matthew good's music is still as powerful as it was before. A select few of us know about it, and that select few, are the lucky ones. While everyone else wallows in trash, we have our sanctuary.

  • Of our generation, Matthew Good, is our Kurt Kobain, and our Jimi Hendrix. The lyrics drip with symbolism, and the chords communicate the same level of emotion the vocals do. I, as we all do, hope it never changes.

  • @suckitfuckerIDC

of our generation wtf?? your smoking crack everyone has difference Genes Tastes''' and Brain''' if u said mathew was good ill take that ... but anything else your speech is discriminative u faggot smell chit nuts under my arse bitch

  • @blackoil911 yeah, I think it's pretty obvious who is smoking the crack man. Enjoy the Youtube account while it lasts.

  • @blackoil911 Hmhmhm... Well this would be offensive, if it wasn't dripping with irony e.i.: "Discriminative FAGGOT [faggot e.i. a DISCRIMINATIVE DEROGITORY SLANG TERM FOR A HOMOSEXUAL]" Not to mention using it in a context, that might insinuate you thought I was actually homosexual, based on... my backlength long hair? Oh... Is that discrimination yet again? Aaah hypocrisy. The hilarious little paradox inhibitor that makes it impossible for the retarded to be right about anything.

  • @blackoil911 And I kind of smell troll here. But as long as you're hoping, I guess you can pretend I'm homosexual if it helps you get your rocks off. That put aside, your comment makes as little sense as the worthless, slacknecked argument you put up to defend it. Your point is non-existent and your grammar is a frankly terrifying butchery of the English language. That last insult chain, made it sound a little bit like you also don't know the rudimentary basics of "going potty" either.

  • @blackoil911 So ultimately, Im afraid, poor performance troll, performs poorly as a troll. I don't quite understand how someone of your frankly muddled intellectual stock found his way to this music video, but I sincerely recommend you remove yourself from it, and focus on something that's a little more your speed. Whip my Hair for instance. A song literally written by and about a 10 year old girl, and her hair moving back and forth. That should entertain your simian mind for a few hours.

  • @suckitfuckerIDC

You wrote three huge posts in response to blackoil911.

Are you fucking stupid? He wins. Good game.

  • @sliver321123 Well huge responses for me are 17 comments long because I type at a ridiculous speed. That was barely a passing nod to me.

  • @suckitfuckerIDC

    RIDICULOUS SPEEEEEED!

You've still missed the point, and you're silly as shit. :D

  • @sliver321123 Yes well I'm afraid I don't care for trolls of any sort, so I shant be feeding you past this point. Good day.

  • @sliver321123 lol, YES CONTEXT DOES MATTER... wow. You might want to read the actual comments being discussed, probably won't make such a fool of yourself. You're still as worthless an individual as ever, hope all is well and you haven't forgotten about me ; )

  • @Yoshiki03

I have absolutely no clue who you are or what we were talking about (If we ever had talked), and I don't see our comments being sent to each other in reference to this video.

If I offended you, I'm going to assume that its your fault, just because I don't really give a shit.

Just to clear it up, this suckitfucker guy doesn't understand that reacting to a troll automatically gives the troll the win. The reaction is the point. It's as if he's never used the internet before.

  • You ever notice how EVERY song he produces is just so amazing?

This is real music. Everyone else is in it for the money and fame.

Matt brings so much raw and true emotion into every song he writes and sings.

I'm very proud to say he's from my city! c:

  • I am so thankful for Matthew Good's music. WoW!

  • what a stunningly beautiful song

  • Clearly the best song on the album. This guy isn't just a musician, he's a skilled wordsmith! Incredible power in this song!

  • For some reason as I'm enjoying this song on Youtube my mind keeps flashing back to driving around town in my shit Camaro with the windows down listening to Alabama Motel Room and just not giving a fuck about anything. Man I'm getting old and times fucking suck but Matthew Good is still the best artist EVER!

  • Like many of you, I know every Matt Good song. This one I can listen to over and over again and is his best thus far. Simply brilliant!!

  • Definitely one of those longer songs that when it ends you're like, damn, already? And what the fuck's the 1 dislike's problem?

  • This whole album hits so close to home, and not just because it talks about the very sore issue of the lower east-side in Vancouver. It's the feeling you get when listening to it, that things will never change unless we do something about it. It's an agonizing feeling because it takes not a few voices but thousands to change anything... utterly agonizing because no one seems to give a shit.

  • I pity those that never hear this man's music. He takes you from the emotional to the spiritual and beyond....your heart breaks, you anger arises, your mind awakens...and sometimes even your love blossoms...a music poet...that's all I can say about Matthew Good....

  • Through the labrynth of shadows and darkness, the wilderness of pernicious peripheries, through the darkest of adversaries, the reflections of a discordant self. My friends through the darkness and into the glorious and radiant LIGHT. Embrace the purity of nature, absorb the delicacies permeating through the atmposhpere and symbolise the beauty you want to be. Matthew, your music illustrates your inner journey and I love for you this, your humanity is magnanimous. God bless

  • @trailbikerharo did you come hear to listen to the music or judge comments now? don't be a fucking smartass, if he wants to use big words LET THE MAN USE BIG WORDS! maybe he likes being the center of attention who knows..but you have no fucking right to say that shit! i hate people like you, just leave people the fuck alone!

  • @adamJcarter well ya got a point.. pretty hard to argue that i guess. must of been having a bad day.

  • @trailbikerharo just enjoy the music buddy and respect what everybody has to say.......well, unless they're talking shit about Matt, THEN you can tell them to suck your balls! lol

  • Music is a portal into the depths of the human condition. This mesmerising genius of Matthew Good has delineated an immense spectrum for us to behold. A spectrum so poignant that it subtly reveals the maladies, tortures and mysteries of humanity in conjunction with the beauty of emancipation. The Spiritual DNA is laid bare before us, the one receptive to the truth shall escalate through domains of stupefying wonder. I say fellow, truth reigns supreme, everything else is a token, truth is gold.

  • In answer to a lot of your questions, Matthew Good really does not care about making it big, and if you like or dislike his music. Matthew Good made a brilliant analogy about making it big in the states in an interview on Much More Music stating that currently N'Sync are the top band in the United States in Matthew Goods own words. "Do I want to be up there with N'Sync." As far as this album goes like all Matthew Good Albums it has a completely original sound I can not wait for his next album.

  • @bothan101 matthew good has figured out along time ago that the system is screwed up weather it be music or politics or whatever it may be.. but the world works backwards. yea that was awsome when he said he didnt want to be included with nsync . he just keeps on makin good music regardless of how the world recognises him. he would have to make mainstream music if he were gonna be popular and then it would suck. so keep on makin real music matt.

  • best fucking song from vancouver----PERIOD!

  • Matthew Good is the last of any real talent. AC/DC IS NOT GOING TO LIVE FOREVER. What else is out there that has some soul, rock and beat to make yeah kickstart your heart. If ya find any, they were probably hare to find cause there is hardly anything descent...Nickleback?BarFF. Queer girly popstar faggots should on their plastics dildos.

  • @ricccjames Matt Kearney is also amazing

  • Barried like you'd never let it show

  • Does it baffle anyone else how Matthew Good isn't revered as a musical genius in the same way as John Lennon or Jimmy Hendrix? This song is a masterpiece.

  • Matthew Good is really great. Weapon was the first song I've heard from him. And I really do feel something I never felt with other musicians, some sadness that has something to do with the meaning of life. I hope he'll come to Italy, sometimes in the future. I'm asking to broadcast him on my favourite radio!

  • I MEAN AWESOME!!

  • You guys all rock and have great taste in music love all the positive comments which are so nice to see, shows how intelligent you all are. We all feel the music the same way based on the comments I'm seeing and what I feel like one family so cool,we all gravitate towards something real special in the music world NO OTHER LIKE MATTHEW GOOD could create such a powerful mood and emotion through his music.Greatness inspires and that's what Matthews music is doing, awsome

  • this song is my favorit on the album. It makes me think of another life I once had.

  • Matthew Good speaks to a part of me that no other artist can.

In an age of processed everything Matt Good is organic.

  • Who would have thought that there would be a bright side to the bipolar disorder but here it is. Here is a brilliant artist who, from the depths of his madness and trips to the darkest side of reality seldom visited by the rest of us, has created some of the most brilliant contributions to the world of music. This is an artist who gives us, thankfully, music of such depth as to provoke thought and prick the social and political conscience. He plucks us from the sea of artistic mediocrity.

  • @mysweeteventhorizon @mysweeteventhorizon Bipolar is actually the only mental illness correlated with socio-economic success. Although many of them ruin themselves or commit suicide, they tend to be extremely creative people. If you listen to some of MG's stuff before he went solo, some of it sounds like somebody trying to describe a manic episode (Hello Time Bomb, Load Me Up, etc).

  • After listening to Vancouver a couple of times i keep changing my favourite track, there's so many goodens, infact the whole album is a masterpiece!

As the other poster said this is fucking amazing!

  • Fucking amazing.

  • Finally going to see him live in April. I've waited yearssss

  • Does Matt do his own studio work? Every track is always perfect... the more you listen to it the more little sounds you notice (Hospital Music was classic for this... kids saying "yay" to random voice recordings) The more of these you notice, the more you recognize that the artist is a genius. Although these little sounds are insignificant in themselves, Matt makes amazing music out of them.

Matt is very good live, but his studio stuff is outstanding.

  • i belive he dose his own production yes and i agree he is fucking amazing in the studio but live i think hes even better his vocals are better live meybe just cause he can actually do them unlike alot of other bands

  • If you've arrived at this song bouncing around YouTube then consider yourself lucky for landing on one of the best songs on the entire site. What are the odds of that?

  • Seriously.

  • @jowston100 Seriously Dude Yes.

  • @primetimedelivery

until non populus is released - then you'll be blown away

  • Matt good really brings out the true feeling in music we can all learn something from him.

  • This is just pure gold. I don't know how his mind can keep producing such great stuff. I'm so glad I discovered him, even if it was later in his career. This'll make my fourth album owned by such a gifted artist. In cases like him, fuck downloading music illegally!

  • I totally agree. I found him when Apparations first came out and I was 12.

I'm still working on collecting all of his older albums before they stop making cds. Lol. I would rather have the hard covers for matt than any other artist..

  • wow. i was almost the exact same age as you. i caught the music video on much was blown away. even at an early age i could tell matt was an artist with a message. in a time of boy bands and girl groups, matt was a godsend.

  • Yes, Matt was the only one who stuck with me after I left the pop-princess stage. And I love him even more, with every album. Vancouver, there is not one single song I do not love.

  • What a great fucking song

  • Simply beautiful. I love Matthew Good. You can never get tired of this. EVER.

  • Do you mean this is the best MG album since Beautiful Midnight of which Running for Home is a song on that album? Or this is the best song since Running For home? Myself, I love all his work. If my house was on fire I would save my wife, son, dog and my MG cds. MG stands so far apart from everything else that is being done musically today... he is brilliant. Every album is like a unique treasure, special in its own way. In 100 years kids should be learning about him in music class.

  • I went to his middle and high school in coquitlam. I'm only 19. I can't believe i came from his town.

  • wow strong statement.

  • I think ScudX meant that he/she feels that this song is the best album-ending song since Running For Home.

  • @emptystheme Yes, exactly. I don't know how anyone is confused by "album closer". It means the final track.

  • This is easily my favorite MG/B album closer since Running for Home. The low, mournful flute synth that runs underneath the track is the glue that holds it all together.

  • Great song, Matthew good is probably my favorite artist. I was too young back in the 90s to be into Matthew Good Band, but boy do I sure love all his music, the songs never get old. Too bad his songs do not get more hits, so much better than most of the shit my generation listens to today.

  • i agree with Mcplkelly, the shit produced in the music industry nowadays is trash music with just beats with crap-ass lyrics that mean nothing, the real good songs are the ones that make u think and feel and realize something u might have never thought of, felt, or realized before

  • Sooo happy you're back! Saw you play in Burlington, Ontario several years ago... and at McMaster University... I still love your music. I had wondered where you were! : )

  • I was thrown off by the beginning, I never heard anything like it before but it grew into something otherworldly and while the singers voice isn't my favorite thing, I like this song nonetheless. It can easily carry you away to somewhere else and I find that is something hard to find in most music.

I can think of only one world that wholly fits this song, 'Epic.'

  • Matt Good has a couple "Epic" songs in his catalog. He's been a well supported Canadian artist for almost 20 years now... if you liked this there is a lot more where it came from.

  • This album feels like a friend from highschool who had some mental issues but got over them, and then did really well and became famous, has come back home to hook up with old friends. It won't be big like Hospital Music, but it feels more intimate and like he's back in my livingroom instead of on talkshows in the USA. Who doesn't love when he wails?

  • im going to see matt good nov 25 in london . cant wait

  • Can't believe it's been 10 years since I first heard a Matt Good track, and I must say...

    He continues to impress!

  • You missed the Hospital Music album, obviously. I lost track of him too for 10 years, then heard Hospital Music and went and bought everything he did for the last 10 years.

  • I think he/she means they've been listening for ten years now.

  • Eeks you're right. I thought I saw "...a good track...." The eyes do wierd things after a piece of rumcake. Or brownies.

  • unbelievable song

  • one of my favorite songs on the album

  • Both this version and the demo are great in their own ways.

In the end though, this version is more polished, and the lyrics are amazing.

"Hold me like you'll never let me go" sounds powerful the way he sings it.

  • Tell me, will I love?

and tell me, will it be enough?

  • another beautiful song by matt

  • this song is brilliant... hatoff, you're aren't
