  • have you ever thought about showing a picture at the start or end of your video's of a os map with the route you have tanken marked on it, ???,, or a print screen of google earth.

  • @Brasso182 I ruled out ever showing a route or graphic anywhere within the videos, but I've thought about creating a Google map showing the route, perhaps with clickable bubbles to link to certain parts of the video and then linking to that in the description

  • @DStaniforth that would be great, im planning to do kinder scout and bleaklow (2 day trip) next year so my first port of call was your video's but there was'nt much on the route's you took,

  • @Brasso182 I followed the Pennine Way pretty much exactly, there are other paths but the Pennine Way is clearly marked on the OS map. Where it splits coming out of Edale I took the route down to Barber Booth and then up Jacob's Ladder, over Kinder to Mill Hill, across to the the path down to Doctor's Gate and then directly up to Bleaklow

  • amazing video , i'll be around there myself soon , love kinder scout

  • Cool video. I would love to take a trip over the "pond" and do some hiking in your part of the world. My son and I just started posting hiking videos too. Thanks for posting.

  • I really enjoyed watching this first part, never have gotten a proper look around the Peak District before. Although I'm not exactly fit enough to go on one of these treks, it would be an interesting visit to take on.

  • Hey just started watching the video looks great. can i ask did you camp along the way or stay in B&Bs ?

  • @ps2peter I've done the YouTube series as sepereate days over several months. When I did the full trail in 2000 I stayed in Youth Hostels along the way

  • @Staniforth ah thanks for the info mate, yeah i saw you had the video in parts so i just assumed it was all in one trip lol. what is your favourite section in the video series?

  • @ps2peter Hmm, all the sections are pretty different so far. Part 3 was truly terrible weather and you can't hear anything without subtitles. I liked the first section of part 5 with all the snow and ruined farmhouse. And then the recent ones have been nice with some sunshine in places and in the Yorkshire Dales!

  • @DStaniforth sweet! well i look foward to watching them all. have you done much hiking in scotland? im moving their soon from yorkshire and plane to do alot up there

  • @DStaniforth You can just camp everywhere though, right?

  • @Chebmeh There are open access areas along the way. You might have difficulty camping in farmland or in the industrial valleys, but in open moorland you should be able to get away with it. There are real campsites available as well

  • This is a wonderful walk and is best appreciated alone in my opinion, the solitude serves to emphasise the granduer of the countryside. When i walked it, i chose to spend most of my time under canvas, that was some twenty years ago, i will do it again soon, you don`t need much kit or money just the desiret. If you haven`t already tried it.........you should..... Guns are not needed or are they allowed, but you could feed yourself if you needed to....

  • Great video mate

im planning on trying Jacobs ladder with a full camping gear pack, that looks like its going to be fun...

    cheers. BB

  • is it possible to say hunt along the pennine way with say an air rifle? For example hares seeing as they are game. for example if it was my last means of food would it be legal? also couldnt you camp on your travels

  • @tropico5 I can't really say whether it would be legal or not as the Pennine Way goes through lots of private land and farms, so the landowners might not allow it even if the law did. If you did decide to hunt then you'll find there are lots of hares and things you'll see

I'm fairly sure you wouldn't need to hunt though, as on the Pennine Way you're never more than a few hours from a road.

  • @tropico5 not to hunt no, have to be careful of people lol

  • Terrific scenery. I appreciate the historical information as well. Thanks for posting.
