Acctually 40 grand is quiet good for the top line trim, it pays over time, unlike the current one which gets worse mpg and cost 50 grand!

@Lexuslover123 actually, mpg ratings changed in 07, with the new system the 2006 Highlander gets 27 city, 25 Highway, (26 Combined). The new Highlander gets 28 city and 28 Highway.

@Taureg96 05-07 highlander hybrid gets 28/32, the next generation got 25/27 and the current model slightly refreshed gets 28/28.

@Lexuslover123 For 2008, the epa created a new system to rate vehicles, a more accurate system. l under this system the original highlander hybrid gets 27 city, 25 highway (4wd). which is worse than the current model. and with inflation that 06 highlander would cost $45k today which is the same price for a 4wd Hybrid limited.

@Taureg96 So maybe technology is more accurate now, but despite that, I can't stand how toyota ruined the highlander and many other of their vehicles interiors, old toyotas were built so much better than new ones, the trim pieces in many new toyotas can be pulled off by simply tugging a little bit. I'd take our old highlander over the new one ANY DAY.

@Lexuslover123 I definitely agree, the last gen Camry and Highlander were so much nicer, i loved them. And almost all new Toyota's look like Robots!!! They had better wood, leather and much better plastics. I've got a friend with an 03 highlander limited that is soooo nice.

@Taureg96 I think toyota started putting a lot of effort into lexus and then totally screwed up toyota. They got so lazy with toyota that all they can brag about on the features is that toyotas have legendary build quality and reliability, lol, hardly any new toyotas are that way any more.

@Taureg96 Toyota got so lazy that they still have a 4 speed auto in that POS, in 2011!!!!! Really sad.
