@gahver That's a terrible joke and it's not even funny. Shall we keep sinning that grace may abound of course not. You might be forgiven but the Bible tells us that we should not joke like that. Specially after such an incredible story of God's redeeming and saving power.
@JPNR I think it’s our responsibility to improve our self, to excel, to enhance our life, to learn and be wise. Independently of whatever religion you may choose to practice. If one does a great act of success, how long do you think it lasts? To maintain it means to work it, there is no guarantee this girl won’t go back to striping if the economy get bad, if that’s the only resource or if she doesn’t know anything else to do. Im guessing her best bet is education and not necessarily religion
@gahver I think you are right to a certain point. Yes we should want to improve ourselves and yes she could go back to what she used to do. But, if we transformation in Christ is true she will never go back. One thing I think you havn't understood is that when Christ comes in your life He transforms you, He changes you, He redeems you. There is many sins I used to do and don't do anymore. Not because I was able to change because I tried and failed. But because He saved me, and now I'm free.
@JPNR you saved yourself by adopting a belief system that permits you to act for your own benefit which has to be gratifying. There is always a catch, a condition, something you give up in order to obtain: you might think you are free, but of what? If there is still pain to feel, problems to solve, doubts, bills to pay, pleasures to satisfy, guilt, grudges, etc. you can cope all that and more, but what if the belief system doesn’t work according to your habits, values, morals or family?
@gahver I didn't saved myself by adopting a belief system that permits me to act on my own benefit but actually the opposite. Yes there is still all those things, but I meant to say that He freed me from sin. I'm no longer a slave to sin anymore. And trust me, my belief system doesn't fit with my habits, values, morals or family. Actually my culture and my family are not even Christian. I didn't become Christian because I grew up in a Christian home if that's what you are trying to say.
@JPNR All ideology is a belief system, thoughts and actions have to be coherent with your lifestyle. If you say that what you believe is opposite of what you do, there is something very wrong. Or, can you be a pimp and a priest at the same time? You could but these are the contradictions that define what you believe in, the absence of true spirituality by the lack of self knowledge and satisfaction of fantasies. Fanatics tend to ignore themselves, they seek in others what they don’t have in them
@gahver I understand what you are saying but that's not what I was trying to say. What I was saying is that me humanly would want to live in sin and do whatever I want, but I don't do what I want but I try to do God's will in my life. There is things that I wish I could erase from the Bible but I can't. There is things I wish I could believe in but I can't. I believe not because I agree with everything but because I know that Jesus Christ is Lord and He is God and if I don't have Him I'm nothing
@JPNR How can one be free of sin in a sinful world? Are you following god’s chaotic universe of harmony? Or the institution’s castrating laws made by men? Who are they to tell you what god wants from you? Your freedom is an illusion that gives you hope, but true freedom is emotional, mental and spiritual independence that permits true will without mistakes, I’m talking about the god that made your perfect functional body and not the institution that made your imperfect dysfunctional thoughts
@gahver That's the beauty of Christ, He redeems us and we can now live free of the bondage of sin and still live in this sinful world. Jesus said that we who believe in Him live in this world but we are not of this world. We are not in bondage to sin any more but free in Him. And to your two questions I will say neither. I don't follow laws made by man, I follow God's will in my life that is expressed in His word, the Bible. Because of the love He poured out for me, now I live for Him.
@JPNR Facts: If you are human you belong to this world, if not you are an extraterrestrial. If you are a man you follow the laws of man, if not you are a criminal. If you have a body like a mammal you belong to the animal kingdom, if not you are a humanoid mutant. Deny these facts and you deny what god gave you to be an individual in this world. Don’t sell your soul cheap, be your own.
@gahver If God was created by humans then I would agree with you completely. But since God is not human, doesn't think or act as a human I will disagree with you. Jesus Christ said that we live in this world but are not of it anymore. As Christian we don't follow the patterns of this world. Yes we should obey authority but as Christians we just don't follow "laws" to be saved. And I think that there is much more to life than just an "individual" in this world.
@JPNR Then ask yourself, which gods are you referring? In other religions some gods are animal like, others extraterrestrial, others are very human, etc. Christianity deals strictly with human laws because morality demands it, other than that you are making stuff up to match your unearthly fantasy. I’d like to know where in the bible does it say “we live in this world but are not of it anymore”?
@gahver 14 I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. 15 My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. 17 Sanctify them by[d] the truth; your word is truth. John 17
@JPNR “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand” You are manipulating your belief system to fit your distorted view of the world, you are part of the animal kingdom and if you don’t feel part of this world, what a hell are you doing here?

@JPNR Agreed, but its not really incredible, its very credible, not miraculous, just a responsability, not something to brag about

@gahver What do you mean by not miraculous, just a responsability?
