Why is it nigh on impossible for me to find this version of this song? Every time I find this - even the album - there's always this uber retarded keyboard that shits all over the track at 0:45 and 2:28 making me want to hurl something.
Yello was awesome. And they weren't from England so THAT was a plus. heh.
Damn I'm good! and Today is my Birthday!...this song came out when I was a teenager..Nowadays Ive started to listen to more Kraftwerk. Was listening to internet radio, heard The Man Machine by Kraftwerk and remembered this song (who obviously sampled that song) I hadnt heard this song in 20 years! All I could remember was I love you! , try looking for 80s songs I love you. LOL
I missed these when they first came out. I caught them last night on the Mark Radcliffe show. I was very stoned and they sounded great. From what I have read above they are Swiss and in the programme Mark Radcliffe said from 1983.
Way better than the sad excuse for a song called "Oh yeah". I absolutely love this song and believe there might even be a single of this one around the house somewhere. Good old vinyl times... :D
I cannot think of a better song playing from the car radio at night while I drive through the city in a gin soaked stupor while snorting coke off of a hooker's tits!
I discovered Yello in 1985 and followed them for years. They were ahead of their time and their albums are part of my collection. This video, "I love you" seen on MTV was how I was introduced to them. Dark and mysterious, their songs werent meant to be mainsteam but they were succesful anyway.
Boris Blank is one of the best electronic composers of our time. No offense to Dieter, but Boris is the heart of Yello's musical sound...you can tell it's him even w/o lyrics.
Love this band!! I had the pleasure of assisting Dieter M one night at the hotel i work at as a bellman back in '95...he couldn't quite manage to open his door so i assisted with that! He was so polite....

Is it just me - or is this perhaps THE most innovative "band" of the 1980's? They innovated production and sampling techniques and incorporated them in ways that would not be widely embraced for another decade after the release of their albums. I have really fallen in love with this "band" after NEVER hearing ANY of their work beside the obligatory "Oh Yeah" and deciding to buy one of their albums when I saw it. They are simply AWESOME! I've since bought others... They RULE!
@jazzliscious13 they have influenced my taste in music! I have all albums and I am now into trance..still I love the tunes...exceptional..they did edit in those years with tape...remarkable compared to the computers available nowadays.
they are masters with sound, integrating the sound of a train, a light, footsteps in their music.
@TranceOnJeroen2 I'm sure they had access to perhaps some of the best samplers on the market in those days too. New England Digital Synclavier, Fairlight CMI, and most assuredly a Emu Emulator. Definitely tape edits but surprisingly there were lots of digital facilities floating around in those days. Example: Donald Fagan recorded The Nightfly digitally in '82. You are definitely correct in your statement "they were masters of sound". I agree fully, they came up with lots of innovative sounds.
two best songs this and oh yeah the rest are to different for me to commercial based soundwise didnt help there cause though but they are a under rated band for their time which is sad but people don't forget which is good for our benifit i think dragnet benefited from them as well
I know this song is awesome. Yello is one of my favorite bands. There is no need to be rude just because you do not understand American slang.
By the way, this song was released in 1983, not 1985. I know because it was the year I started clubbing. And this song is most definitely about boinking.
My dad had this on beta-max video cassette and I used to watch this when I was a kid. Nowadays I have couple of albums by Yello and very much like them.

Sublime, cependant, il y avait aussi Fad Gadget qui a influence beaucoup d'artistes dans ce genre et qui a donne leur chance a Depeche Mode.
