    The engines are off already, the fire was caused by the fuel leak.

    Why are you so sure?

    The "leak" is from the piping while the fuel in the piping is from the pump. If the engine is shut off, the pump will also be shut off, and there is nothing to leak for the fire.

    This is based on someone's personal experience in a similar situation. One engine of his B-25 bomber was on fire because of fuel leak caused by enemy ground fire. The plane landed carrying a torch. But after the engine was shut off, the fire went out by itself.

    Current commercial aircraft pilots tend to act according to instructions from the tower including engine shutoff.

    In this accident, I don't think the tower ever instructed the pilots to shut off the engine. In other words, I really doubt that the engine was still running and the pump was running, too, turning an incident into a disaster.

    Thanks for ur comment, as I am not the flight crew, therefore my knowledge is from the final investigate report published by CAA (ROC). ps: the report can be download from the website, in both Chinese and English, I dont know if its up there still.. : ) everything u said can be possible. its difficult for us to tell just from watching this video.

  • I have no idea where was the fireman of Naha airport. they took at least more than 5 minutes to approach the air plan. Luckily, all the passengers were evacuated by emergency escape ladder. Both pilot and chief of fire dept. should be fired.

  • @longhunter2 Based on ICAO standard, the firemen response time must not exceed 2 minutes.

  • omg... I had never seen this before. That is exceptionally scary.... Why aren't their fire teams on sight? They should have been on the scene immediately. Is this a Chinese airport? Very dangerous and unprofessional.

    那麼為什麼要在機場設消防隊呢? 這不就是為了爆炸 空難意外做準備?

    而乘客都已經疏散完畢 影片跑了四分鐘消防車才來 這不是訓練不足是什麼?

    當初新加坡航空在當時的中正機場05L 跑道發生意外時 中正機場消防隊只用了兩分15秒就到達指定位置。

    1. 華航飛香港在澎湖上空解體的那架已證實是事故發生22年前一次不­當的維修所致,難道華航維修是外包出去的?

    2. "老空軍的年代"其實出事較少,因為"老空軍的年代"的空勤地勤­都是在空軍有深厚經驗的,退役後才到華航.

    華航從印尼回台灣在大園摔掉的那架,就是由First Officer進場落地,而他不是空軍飛行員出身,是國外的民航­飛行班畢業,經驗總是差一點.

    1.澎湖空難的確是當時的華航維修不當, 但是否因為前一次的空難就來推斷這次也是華航的錯,犯了邏輯上的­錯誤...

    2. 不知道你所謂的老空軍年代包不包含前幾次重大的空難? 至從大舉培訓,錄用自訓機師以來華航的空安已經大幅改善...空­軍是有經驗,但是也將大家詬病的學長學弟制帶到駕駛艙內, 為飛安重下隱憂, 如果FO 總是不執行落地, 怎麼有變成CP的一天?

  • The control tower notified the pilot immediately after the plane touched down that one of the engines was on fire. These Japanese firemen should have been waiting/ready for the plane before it get out of the runway.
