Masha Allah, Allah Allah, this of his recitation i have heard many many times and its just go straight to my heart.................simply a killing recitation........i feel myself floating with his beautiful voice, May Allah Bless him
After Sheikh Mustafaa Ismail (in the 1930's he was regarded to this day as the One who could read, his style was by all measures AMAZING, ) TabLAWI REVIVES this lost style, that unfortunately these days is nowhere to be found. If you want the original listen to Sheikh Mustafaa ismaeil, he was known as the King's reader, because after listening to him King Farook, appointed him as as his official "reader of the castle".

Jazaka Allahu Khayran 4 inquiring. This is a very beautiful, deep subject in Islaam: The Qiraa`aat of the Quran. But let's move right away 2 ur question, about "Warsh".
As you may have heard, there are 10 'authentic' ways to recite the Qur`aan. All of these 10 have authentic chains to the Prophet Muhammad - and the Muslims Scholars agree to this point. * Basically, they are like ... different 'styles' you could say, or "modes" of recitation. Each "Qiraa'ah" has its own set of 'tajweed' rules
One of those 10 "modes" of recitation has been called .... the Qiraa'ah of Imaam Naafi`. Who was he?
(Again, remember that all of these "Qiraa'aat" are from Muhammad, peace be on him.)
Anyway ... of those "Qiraa'aat" has been named, the Qiraa'ah of "Naafi`". * Imaam Naafi` Al-Madani. He was 1 of the major scholars of Qiraa'aat during his time. He was born around 70 A.H. (70 years after the Hijrah of the Prophet)...
He was born 70 A.H. in Madeenah, and passed away in the same city at the age of 99, in the year 160 A.H. (after hijrah).
He learnt Qur`aan from over 70 of the Successors (students of the Companions of Muhammad). And from those 70 Successors, he also learned from Abu Ja'far Yazeed Ibn Qa`qaa` --- who took his recitation from Abu Hurayrah -- who took his recitation from -- Ubay Ibn Ka`ab -- who took his recitation from the Prophet (peace be on him).
After the era of the "Successors", Naafi` was taken as the "Chief Qari of Madeenah"! And eventually, his Qiraa`ah was adopted by the people of Madinah, and it became well-known as the Qiraa`ah of Madeenah.
So Naafi` ... among his students was "Imaam Malik" - maybe you've heard of him :) . Imam Malik (died 179 A.H.) used to recite the Qur'aan in the qiraa'ah of Naafi`. And he used to say:
"Indeed, the Qiraa`ah of Naafi' is the Sunnah." i.e. meaning, this qiraa'ah was most liked by him
Also, maybe you've heard of "Imaam Ahmad". Imaam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal (died 204 A.H.) was once asked: "Which of the Qiraa`aat do you prefer?" He said: "The Qiraa`ah of Madeenah (i.e. Naafi`)." And then he was asked, "What next?" And he said: "The Qiraa`ah of 'Aasim."
(And fyi, this is the Qiraa`ah that most of the Muslims nowadays, recite in. It is the Qiraa`ah of 'Aasim. But we don't have time to get into it here. :)
NOW .... The 2 top students who preserved the Qiraa`ah of Imaam Naafi`, were:
[1] Warsh. His full name is -- Abu Sa`eed `Uthmaan Ibn Sa`eed Al-Misree (died 197 A.H.). He lived in Egypt, but travelled to Madeenah in 155 A.H. to study Qur`aan under Imaam Naafi`. And he recited the whole Quraan to Imaam Naafi` many times :)
Eventually, he returned to Egypt & became the leading Qari of Egypt. * So again, he is the 1st of the top students of Imaam Naafi` - who preserved his Qiraa'ah.
[2] Qaaloon - His full name is `Eesa Ibn Meena Az-Zarqi (died 220 A.H.). He was the step-son of Imaam Naafi`. And he lived in Madeenah his whole life.
After Imaam Naafi` died, he took over his position as the leading Qari of Madeenah.
* So to conclude: What is now known as the "Qiraa`ah of Naafi`" - and is preserved through his 2 head students: "Imaam Warsh" & "Imaam Qaaloon" ..... is a "mode of recitation" that was recited by the Prophet Muhammad and his Companions.
+ The only other issue which you may have wanted to know, in your question ... but it is too lengthy to discuss here ... is the "actual rules of tajweed, that are used in this Qiraa`ah".
Now that would need a book to discuss fully & properly. * And that is what ... people like Shaikh Tablawi (and countless others) study, and get degrees in.
And this is something I (personally) would like to spend time learning. The rules of this Qiraa`ah. And really, it is not that difficult. :) :)
Tablawi is my personal favourite. This recording is one of his greatest recordings. May Allah be pleased with him ameen.
p.s i am aware that this particular recording is part of a recording. Any chance of posting the whole recording? Thankyou in any case for being the person who made it possible for me to listen to this recording.Ramadhan Karim. Salaam Aleykum
This is a very beautiful reciting, I thought I would never match any body to Abdulbasit, but listening to this changed my mind. It should have been rated a 5 not a 4.
MashAllah his recitation is really nice, but I was just wondering and maybe someone can answer this for me, why don't Egyptian reciters have beards? None of them, the only one i can think of that is popular is AlHusary ra7imahuAllah. Other than him all the rest like Minshawi(both of them), Abdul Basset, Rif3at, Mustafa Ismail, Tablawi, Not a single one of them has a beard.
Mashallah! This is beautiful, I love listening to it,I have many audios such as this recited by many others... I dont keep up with their names though I always listen to recitations of Quran al-kareem.
