This is a horrible video. Those techniques were vague and inaccurate. These individuals are some of the worse instructors out there it appears to me. I've been kayaking for 6 months and have taken classes that qualify me as a better instructor then these guys.

a life jacket and what else???????????? Uh,,,maybe a wet suit or dry suit.....stress that please....you forgot that and assume the water is above eighty degrees

keeping your paddle vertical will give you a powerful thrust.

and the more horizontal you can get it the more you will turn. check out "sweep stroke"
