  • Nothing cooler than talking to an oldman who isnt senile

  • Too powerful!

  • Reminds me of an old ex SAS veteran!!!

  • his face reminds me of jerry garcia

  • damn he is one awesome dude

  • You inspire me Nimblewill Normad. FRED ;<)

  • "I think this guy makes a great role model as a hiker"

  • I could think of much worse than being in his shoes. Maybe, someday, I'll still be hiking like this stud. Go hike it, Nimble.

  • Met him on top of Springer. He was reciting this poem to a group of boy scouts and then he was gone. Annie (of Annie and the Salesman - RIP both of them) said Nimblewill looked like a spiffy Charles Manson in his cool shades. Of course she was just joking and didn't mean to insult Nimblewill or glorify the evil Charles Manson.

  • Cool video. Great to see the legendary hiker at ease. I passed through Nimblewill Gap on the AT approach trail in the fall of 2009 and I knew of Nimblewill Nomad when I did. It was a neat feeling.

  • I love this poem and watch this vid every now and then.

  • sure looks lonely

  • Awesome, awesome, AWESOME.... Just love it!, It's definitely a special kinda person, the long-distance-hiker, awesome....

  • wasn't he in that AT documentary? I recognize his voice

  • wow thats a light pack

  • love this video and the poem! good stuff.

  • great man. when I retire I wanna do long distance hikes too.

  • I love this poem, I would love to hike and learn from this man

  • GenghisKhan22,

he was a doctor for about 30 years, then retired and started long distance hiking. I highly recommend his book "Ten Million Steps."

  • the man lives the life we'd all like to live. Living on the trail and visiting society. It is so true what he says about long distance hiking being primarily a mental exercise.

  • how can he afford to do this ?

  • GenghisKhan22,

He probably worked very hard for a long time to earn the savings and pension to afford him the luxury of living his days on the trail. That was probably many years ago when things like 401K's didn't get raped by the government and hard work was rewarded accordingly.

  • hope to catch him on the trail someday!

  • awesome!

  • wow, this man is tough as nails!

    love him

  • The coolest guy ever!

  • exactly what does that mean?

  • Seems like a super nice guy. Hope to meet him someday down the trail.

  • someday

  • Your the man Nimble
