  • You guys seem like friendly people that just love fishing! I think most of us fisherman tend to be nice and respect each other. Great channel cats! I'm liking your videos. :)

  • @Andycathunter9999 So glad to her you have enjoyed our videos and thanks for taking time to write to us. Until next time, good luck and good fishing.

  • How deep is it?

  • @theonlyjammy602 This area the water is in the 10 - 15 foot range and then it drops down to 20 to 25 feet. Most of these fish were caught in around the 20 foot mark.

  • what size rod do you use

  • @jordancemint Our preference is to use a 6 1/2 foot or 7 foot medium or medium/heavy, one piece rod.

Thanks for tuning in and until next time, good luck and good fishing!

  • @Audioarsenal They have pointy, serrated spikes on their dorsal & pectoral fins but not on the 'wishers' (barbels). On young fish, the spikes are very sharp & pointy which can cause a painful wound to your hands. As the fish ages, the spine tips become dull as a result of wearing. Thanks!

  • What type of water is this, is it salty or fresh.

  • @gladmama This is totally fresh water. Thanks!

  • are channel catfish much different than blue catfish? also how can i tell the difference between the looks of them?

  • @tr0mpwned They are closely resembled. The anal fin of the blue catfish is longer and has a fairly straight profile as compared to the channel which is slightly rounded. Also, the blue catfish's color is actually a shade of blue whereas the channel can be greyish or even slightly yellowish. The blue will grow much larger than the channel as well. Thanks!

  • thunder mist lures is by far the best for catfishing tips. this is where i get my info before i go fishing for catfish. and i caught of my second biggest fish using their tips

  • @SuperPensfan8771 Glad you are enjoying our videos and thanks for tuning in! Congrats on catching your second largest catfish - hope you catch plenty more :)

  • i love this guy, hes always so pleasant and informative. keep the uploads commin ive been learning a lot about catfishing from your videos. thanks!

  • @Riiinsy We are very happy that you are enjoying our videos and thank you for the kind words - until next time good luck and good fishing!

  • @MrPokemonfan231 Thanks & good fishing!

  • What line were you using for catching these channel cats? And for catching them should I always drop a longer line to the hook than to the sinker? Thanks for the tips. :)

  • @ttpetiyyy We like to use from 12-15 lb mono. We also like to use a 3-way set-up; 12 inches of sinker line, 3 feet of leader with the hook. Thanks!

  • what i meant to say is, what did you use to catch them

  • @illusionistpg13 The suckers were caught on pieces of night crawlers. Thanks!

  • Where did you get your sucker, ivo

  • @illusionistpg13 the suckers came from the canal water, at the town of Allenberg, Ontario, right at highway 20.

Thanks for writing in and good luck on the water.

  • @MrPokemonfan231 The polomar knot is a very good knot to use. Thanks for writing in and good luck on the water!

  • @italianpanda752 Try small raw shrimp or small pieces of fish cut-bait. Good luck!

  • great looking fish, should i stick with the same baits you guys use here in nj? or should i try something else?

  • @MrDaymo Using fresh cut bait in NJ will work equally as well as it did up here. Catfish love fresh cut bait!

Thanks for taking time to write and until next time, good luck and good fishing!

  • @arturobotello23 This was the Grand River near Dunnville Ontario. Thanks!

  • net came apart at 1:27

  • @waynedale51 Great observation! Either the fish was too big, or that landing net is getting old :)

Thanks for tuning in and good luck on the water!

  • @wwe36912 nice fish - thanks for sharing! Sounds like you had a great day on the water.

Thanks for taking time to write & good fishing.

  • @thundermistlures Alright, where I am from we use worms/crickets/and chicken liver to fish( Most people do)..I want to up my bait. What do you think I should use? I

  • @JohnBoyMain Try using any kind of fresh cut bait, such as cut sucker or cut fillet of sunfish - you should do great!

  • are canadian channel cats different than channel cats in the states because i live in the states and our channel cats are black on the top with white bellys

  • @xGh0stzZHD The channels are the same. Color will vary according to water conditions & clarity. Thanks for writing us & good fishing!

  • We catch 10 - 15 lb cats quite regularly, nice fish!

  • @Breckboarder1989 Those are nice sized fish! Good fishing!

  • @thundermistlures Hey I was wondering what exactly you were using to catch Mr. Channel cat? Also how do hold a ctafish without geting stuck with the catfish's barb? Thanks for your time!

  • @SpoonierMilk We were using sucker as cut bait. You can hold the fish with your hand around its body. The spines on its side should rest on your hand. Use a glove to practice. Thanks & good luck!

  • Comment removed

  • the bigger ones dont get you usually just watch the little buggers. grab the littler ones by the mouth if they are under like 4 pounds and they wont get you usually. dont grab a bullheads by the mouth either, they bite like a snappen turtle youch

  • Wow thats nice fishin! Good job, the biggest ive caught is 13 lbs in Nebraska. People may not know it, but its good fishing here! Good catches!

  • @tommy2chader Glad you enjoyed the video and hope you have many great days on the water in Nebraska.

Thanks for taking time to write to us and until next time good luck and good fishing!

  • haha what i do when i get a bite is set the hook and then just drag the motha****** in whether he wasnt to or not i dont let it "take any line" lol

  • @SOCCER744CHAMP Thanks for writing in & good luck on the water!

  • Love your enthusiasm. I fish on the Indus river for the Indo-Pak versions of these catfish. We use the three way swivel for the Mahseer on rocky bottoms. Expecting the sinker to break once the fish hits. Great Videos. Thanks

  • @pervezak Thanks for sharing your info & good fishing!

  • oh my god you call that a decent fish the biggest catfish i caught was only freakin 2lbs if that

  • @Fishing4Fish96 We sometimes take things for granted. Hopefully your next one will be bigger! Good fishing!

  • @Fishing4Fish96 they r pros they r use 2 catching fish so there not that exited

  • @Fishing4Fish96 they r pros they r use 2 catching fish so there not that exited + great net job at 9::05

  • what lb line do yall use

  • Is there a big difference between European Catfish and Channel Catfish?

  • @ttpetiyyy As for their diet, they eat similar forage. The main difference is size. The European wells grow huge - easily over 100 lbs. Its head shape & mouth is more similar to that of the flathead rather than a channel. Thanks for your inquiry & good fishing!

  • what bait would you suggest using for catfish in a medium sized pond? but has quite a few turtles in it

  • @baganddrag Unfortunately, any bait that catfish like, turtles will also eat. Turtles may not take roe bags so it's possible to try this. Another thing that may work is to keep the bait suspended about a foot off bottom. Turtles usually feed directly on the bottom. Hopefully this will help. Thanks for your inquiry!

  • yeah im starting out holding them with gloves but i got it whipped today im ready to go glovless

  • @DeadPellet That's great! Good luck on the water!

  • nice video i love your cat fishing videos, im a beginner fisherman and im kind of squeamish about holding catfish

  • @DeadPellet You'll get used to them. Just be carefull of their spines. Good fishing!

  • @PurpleBears14 We think it's a matter of choice & not performance. A spinning rod & reel will also be able to handle big cats with no problem. Thanks for your inquiry & good fishing!

  • What kind of rod and reel are you using there ?

    Great looking fish!

  • @fishinfanatic09 Glad you enjoyed the video - Ivo was using a Quantum Tour Edition rod (not sure if they are made any more?)

  • what kind of bait are you using

  • @wakes2 We were using cut sucker and it worked great....just make sure it is fresh.

Thanks for writing in and good luck on the water!

  • @thundermistlures i use live bluegills most of the time for 20+ pound flatheads or blues, say i want to fish for channels about that size or less, do i cut pieces of the bluegill off or just use the fillets? i normally would use the head and the mid section, but for 5-10 pound channels should i use small pieces of the fillet's only?

  • @4KawasakiRider4 Blue gills are a great bait and definitely suggest going with a fillet or half a fillet for those 5 - 10 pounder's. Also, be sure to remove the scales off of your fillet in order to release more scent.

Thanks for writing in and good lcuk on the water!

  • @thundermistlures I usually throw out a nightcrawler first to fish for a sucker or two. Then use the suckers for the big boys.

  • @MrMetalinyourhead You've certainly got the right idea! good fishing!

  • what kind of bait are you using

  • what kind of bait

  • A little light on TIPS, don't you think? All I saw was a lot of fish catching.

  • @Urbanwild1 You're right about that....could have added more tips. Thanks & good luck on the water!

  • theirs a season for fishing?

  • @TheMowmow1 True, fishing can be done all year 'round. Thanks & good fishing!

  • @frostythedirtball Thank you very much for this feedback - we really appreciate it!

Glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for tuning in - until next time good luck and good fsihing.

  • man where yall from,,,,,yall talk funny

  • @hayseed6969 We are your friendly neighbors to the north...we are from Canada.

Thanks for tuning in to our videos and for taking time to write to us.

Until next time, good luck and good fishing!

  • @thundermistlures well come on down to virginia and fish the james river! we have monster cats here!

  • @hayseed6969 You're lucky to have such big cats in your area. Who knows, maybe someday we may shoot a video there. Thanks!

  • were do you live

  • @jfloressilvan We are located in Ontario Canada...thanks for writing in and good fishing.

  • What type and pound line do you use for catfishing?

  • @suicide5389 We use 14 lb mono or 30 lb braid. Works for us. Good fishing!

  • what kind of hooks were you using?? circle or j hooks?

  • @Sandeemos We were using j hooks. Thanks!

  • Lmao two grey ones and two brown ones ... the brown ones are usually bullhead or flathead and the grey ones are channel cats or blue cats

  • @iTzzEuphoriaaaaaa You're right! Thanks & good fishing!

  • @thundermistlures But after seeing them it led me to believe maybe they are channels .. ive just never seen brown ones ... maybe they just live in mud ? aha i dont know

  • @iTzzEuphoriaaaaaa Actually, those in the video are channel catfish. Even though they are brown, they have a forked tail. The bullhead & flathead have a squarish tail.

    Thanks!

  • @thundermistlures ahh okay ... i always went by color but thanks for the tip ... !!!

  • @iTzzEuphoriaaaaaa No problem. Good luck on the water!

  • @iTzzEuphoriaaaaaa

I need help I looked at all of your videos but I still need help

  • @TheDavideas My videos have nothing to do with fishing lol what are you talking about ?

  • I love fishing with light spinning setups ... makes for an awesome fight !!! I mainly use my shakespeare cirrus ultra lite and override its 6lb line capacity and throw some 10lb fireline on it and catch solid 5 to 7 pounders off chicken liver .. makes for an amazing fight !!!

  • @iTzzEuphoriaaaaaa Thanks for sharing!

  • a 1/0 hook with 12 lb line with a med/heavy action 7'6 rod with crappie chunk will be okay too right? (this was a question)

  • @chinglengvang That will work fine. Good luck!

  • @thundermistlures okay thanks

  • I use beef liver with great success down here in Oklahoma. Last night I caught a 18lb. Channel cat with it. Along with 7-8 smaller ones.

  • @TheTanker24load Excellent! Good fishing!

  • what bait is the best for fish

  • @jfloressilvan It's hard to say what the best bait is, but catfish like to eat fish therefore fish cut-bait should work. Thanks!

  • today we what fishing and we did not got noting at chatfiled

  • @jfloressilvan Keep trying! Good luck!

  • motherfucker -.- that's feeling creature,

  • wat r u using for bait

  • @ATVKid32 They were using cut-bait. It was fresh sucker.

    Thanks & good fishing!

  • @thundermistlures oh ya and where were they fishing

  • @ATVKid32 They were fishing the Grand River in Ontario. Good fishing!

  • ok thacks because i cot one with a worm

  • @ultrakiller1000 ...that's great!

  • wat do u use to catch them

  • @ultrakiller1000 We prefer fresh fish cut-bait and also chicken liver. Catfish have been taken on many types of bait such as shrimp, clams, worms, dough balls, Just to name a few. Good fishing!

  • um is a flat head

  • @jakephil01 Thanks for writing in and good luck on the water!

  • most of them where bull head or mudcat and 1 question how do you hook cut bait im afraid if im casting i might lose the hook set if i did not have it hooked right

  • @xxdeadsightxx Cut-bait is best with the skin left on. Impaling the hook through the skin will ensure that the bait will stay on your hook while casting. Thanks & good fishing!

  • @thundermistlures very true, you gotta be brutal casting to lose your bait if the skins left on there lol.

  • @ThatVilleNigga Thanks for commenting & good fishing!

  • @thundermistlures Yup yup, was down at Cumberland river yesterday, wolf creek damn. Catchin good trout.

  • @ThatVilleNigga That's great fun! Good fishing!

  • @hornetwarrior6 The wiskers (barbels) do not sting. The stingers are the tips of the pectoral and dorsal spines. Good fishing!

  • other than cut bait, which i've seen you use often successfully pulling in lunkers, would chicken liver be a good choice?

  • @FishboiFishboi Chicken liver is a very popular bait that works very well. Thanks & good fishing!

  • 2:13 thats not a channel !!!!!!!!! we been in catfish business we know a channel when we see one thats a mudcat for sure

  • @ducksunlimited95 We are pretty sure it was a channel due to it's size and forked tail. The color looks like that of a mud cat (brown bullhead) because of the color of the water. Also the mud cat (brown bullhead has a square tail - that one was forked.

Thanks for commenting & good fishing!

  • what kinda hooks ya useing and what size ?

  • @amermuscle They were using a long shank hook , size 2/0. Thanks & good fishing!

  • stop saying antonio please!

  • @mathisbert21 Ivo did mention Antonio quite often. Thanks for writing & good fishing to you!

  • I was fishing for carp/cats at the river and i had a worm and my rod was on a rod holder. And after about 5 mins my rod started moving just a little, and i knew it was just little bites and that the fish didnt take it. So after about 20 sec it stopped moving.. 5 mins later i reeled in and my bait was gone.. stupid act but how do i solve this?

  • @SPORTSxKiiD12 It was not a catfish for sure. There is a chance that it may have been a carp. The carp will pick up the bait and carefully remove the worm and spit out the hook. But chances are small fish were picking away at the worm leaving you with a clean hook. You may try setting the hook on those small bites and you may also try smaller hooks. Hope this helps & good fishing!

  • happy 50th video

  • @fishingwithkmarine Thanks very much & good luck on the water!
