Yep, definitely an incomplete quad. Ive played wheelchair rugby around the world with guys like this, guys who are quads who can walk, but like them, Aaron struggles with the use of his hands. To be able to walk while still in rehab is eveidence of spinal swelling subsiding, enabling the nerve endings to commence innovation. Aaron displays characteristics resembling those from a condition called central cord syndrome, where damage to the center of the spinal cord occurs.
must have been misdiagnosed as complete SCIs are just that. be thankful to not have an actual complete SCI because if you did, you definitely wouldn't be walking and have any sensation below the level of injury.
