Hate to break the news. There is no underlying meaning in the metaphor, no interesting word play, no relevant social commentary. The only semi-decent thing Method Man has going is the flow itself, which sounds like a lazy version of the same flow he had 15 years ago. Hence, "Method Man has never evolved."

Rap does not have to "be so intelligent." However, it has to bring something creative & new to the table (i.e., legitimate message, creative rhyme scheme &/or flow). He had a really creative flow in the early 90's but now its 09. He has an old flow w/ no message & no world play. In short, every verse he has now is recycled. It's boring.
