  • Vedic qwinn, when he finally learns not to taste everything he finds and stick his fingers in it and fling it at you when sticking his fingers into it and picking his teeth.

he becomes a councilor of the priest of the rapture.to youth of Canaan.

  • His portrayal of Senator Vinick on the West Wing makes me long for the days of Republicans who are honest about religion, and how politicians will use it for political gain if you make it an issue.

  • When I'm down, Alan Alda's voice can cheer me up!

  • Alan Alda is the reason I became a photographer. He's just so inspiring. A very "reach for your goals" type person. ♥

  • Man, this guy has always had one crooked neck. Such horribe posture!

  • @GlorifiedTruth he had polio as a kid.

  • wow his voice hasn't changed at all! I love Alan Alda!

  • Mr Alda reminds me of my Pop. My Pop was nothing like Mr Alda, but I feel that they had the same ethics and morals.

  • mash is the coolest show ever!!!!!!

  • Haha, the ending was hilarious. I bet they said something afterwards to him about how he shouldn't have thrown that in there.

  • He has the cutest smile! So funny how he sneaks his website in at the end! lol

  • Oy this interviewer is annoying.

  • Alan Alda is probably one of the most genuinely sweet and humble actors out there. Plus anyone who's read his books knows he's a fantastic writer.

  • Frank Burns eats worms..

  • He has one of the best voices ever.

  • Mr. Alan Ada puts Seinfeld to shame.

i want to be a surgeon too!

  • Alan Alda's character Hawkeye is the reason why I'm studying to become a doctor/surgeon

  • Have you watch his excellent time in E.I.?

He was so good in that serie! Once again a "doctor" part.

    :)

  • To schott2826: His name is Alan Alda NOT Hawkeye

  • This man is one of my true personal heroes, since I was little kid. He is so clever, intelligent, and genuine. I cannot express all of the respect I feel for him.

  • Same here! He's so...insperational.

  • :) The man, and the character he played with such honesty, has inspired me as well.

  • i need to get that book!!

  • This guy is one of MY hero's!!! Gosh from the time I was young to this present day, he is a really geniune guy and its hard to believe that he has worked in Tinsletown, he is so natural and down to earth.

  • awesome gentleman, awseome actor, awesome writer, awesome books- highly recomend to anyone wanting some small grasp of why we're here at all...

    he's my hero

  • Alda's one of my top five heroes of all time. Right up there with Batman. :)

  • i read the first chapter at the bookstore tonight, and was reluctant to put it down. can't wait to finish it!

  • Alan is genuine, brilliant and talented man and actor.

  • He was one of my childhood heroes

  • mine too!! hey, i'm only eighteen but i love the retro icons, unlike the icons today...

  • When I was a kid MASH would play just after an aussie soap[Home&Away, Neighbours...] and the differance in acting was phenomenal. The average soap-star spoke his line, the camera panned, someone else would reply, camera pan back ect ect... Alan Alda owned the screen with an honesty Kylie Minogue never came close to. He didn't just play a character;he let the character out through every action and idiosyncracy that such a character would exhibit.Especially in MASH but in countless other roles too.

  • awesome, I know

  • Robert Altmans use of overlapping conversations was something else that lent so much authenticity to MASH, I can't think of any other program that has used that technique with quite the same flair.

  • Mr Alder is one of the true greats of the american entertainment industry. He has been and always will be an inspiration..

  • Yes, indeed. Mr. Alda is so much more than "Hawkeye" (although I must admit that I glibly respond with Hawkeye wisecracks to people all the time!). And "Zeldovich", I'm sure that Mrs. Alda, their children and grandchildren would strongly disagree with you, as do I.

    So there.

P.S: Wouldn't it be totally ironic if the name of the surgeon who saved his life in Chile was "Dr. Charles Emerson Winchester"?

Best wishes Alan and thank you for making our lives better!!!

  • Sorry to burst your bubble, but Alan Alda is very happily married for 50 years. Anyways, he is an inspiration indeed. I love listening to his voice. He has always been socially conscientious and there is kindness about him that is rare. I wish we had more role models like him around.

  • wow- what a bizarre thing to say... you know he's married right? With kids and grandkids and such....

  • To,MegKM I see NO comment that was flirtatious! Your disgusting for implying such a thing. True Alan Alda IS married with kids & grandkids You must be JEALOUS of A. A. I'm the 1 that gave you a thumbs down vote!!

  • I sent Alan Alda a love letter as a child after I watched the last episode of MASH...crying my eyes out because I would miss him so. It has warmed my heart each show I see him on...each time I get to read his words. I still love him.

  • YES!

  • I love him. Go Hawkeye!!!!

  • I want to read his book.

  • I love Alan Alda. What a nice guy...
