  • watch him play in the late 80s. Just watch a game. I don't know if it's because he played soccer in his youth or what but I've never seen a man that big change direction in the post so quickly. He could take a step 5 feet closer to the basket then take it back in a second.

  • 2 people are Patrick Ewing and David Robinson fans.

  • Great video.

I loved watching him as a kid.

His spin moves are like no other.

  • beat malone, ewing, robinson, barkley, and shaq on the way to his 2 championship. proved he was a champ

  • Man, Patrick Ewing, David Robinson, and Shaq were his play toys Olajuwon's whole career.

  • Hakeem the greatest center of all-time ppl say its kareem abdul jabar but i dont think its fair to put him ahead cuz at the time when Kareem played for the Bucks he was like the 1st of his Kind a 7footer center soo he had an unfair advantage...hakeem dominated shaq, ewing, and david robinson which are all hall of famers!

  • Who was the best center of the 90s

  • 2 people are gasol fans

  • bad song choice

  • If drexler would have come to houston earlier we would be talking about the hakeem ojluawon era instead of the jordan era

  • Smoothest center ever.

  • that play at 1:27 is a travel... everyone travels every now and then.

I still love the Dream though.

  • @xdachinamanx its not travel

  • @USA1Rockets

His free foot was his left foot, meaning his right foot is the pivot. He took a step with his left (free) foot then another one with his right (pivot) foot, and since he did in in a standstill position without dribble the Dream traveled.

  • @xdachinamanx It wasn't a travel. Pivot was established first, then one dribble broke the pivot and allowed an extra step and another pivot. The footwork was amazing...plain and simple. No one does it better.

  • @jevzero

Ah you are right my apologies. The camera angle blocks the dribble pretty well.

  • Best center of all time!!

  • Man.. blocked one guy twice, then his teamate on the same frikkin play! OMG

  • ofc he could dunk, he's 7'0 this mix is just showing us some smart intelegence moves !

  • He dunked like 10 times every game. Best moves ever for a center. He is unstoppable on the boards and an amazing shot blocker. One season he got over 200 steals. Agile as a point guard yet strong as a center. Second best center. Only bill russell was better. Wilt was third.

  • Please Bill Russell is so hyped up because he was on a team that won championships. He is not better than dream or wilt.

  • Hardly ever dunked?? Watch his videos from about 84-92. Lots of great dunks bud.

  • OMG this is the sickest video... hakeem is my 2nd favorite basketball player of all time behind magic johnson

  • he hardly ever dunked, but his body control still made him one of the most dominant centers of all time...

  • dream move is classic! no more center can play like Akeem!! I just saw Robinson, Ewing faked by Akeem many times!!

  • Comment removed

  • Bulls vs Rockets in the finals during Hakeem and Jordan's prime could've been sweet!! =D

  • Hakeem is easily one of the most versatile and gifted centers of all time. I remember as a youngster wonderin how a 7 footer could be so quick and agile on his feet, in the post. Truly a great player

  • The greatest center EVER! Dominant on both ends of the court. You can't say the same about Shaq

  • ur stupid........shaq in his prime was golden......hakeem too...but u can say shaq was dominant...i do think hakeem iz the greatest center...but dnt deny tht shaq was more so dominant...hakeem was just more of a full package

  • shaq was more dominant on offense on defense olajuwon was more dominant

  • Shaq wasn't dominant on both ends of the floor? You kidding?

  • He was the Dream, but a Nightmare to his opponents.

  • If you watch young Hakeem play, his post moves and footwork were INSANELY fast. He would cover 6 feet of ground in a split second with a single pivot.

  • one of the best centers in terms of skills in offense and defense.. nice dream shake and counter moves, best for a 7"0 center and for a true center besides shaquille o'neal and abdul jabbar..

  • I would put him as the best Center ever

  • Blame Michael Jordan, he took all the focus and attention off Hakeem in his playing days lol.

  • 4:00 -- RIDICULOUSLY AWESOME!

  • it looked normal . were you thinking that he missed his own shot and then off one step got that much air ? it was a different guy that missed . the first time it looked cool cus i thought he got his own miss with no revving up

  • Been a huge NBA fan since November/1997 (I was 9 back then) and Hakeem was the greatest player I´ve seen live to this day.

  • The Dream is the greatest center in the modern era. There are times wen Shaq was a more dominate player, but Hakeem had to face Robinson, Ewing, and Shaq. Wen Shaq won titles, it was Tim Duncan and that's it. Hakeem the Dream!

  • ALso, Shaq was probbaly the most dominant on offense, but Hakeem dominated on both sides of the ball like no other player, besides Michael Jordan

  • thank u!!!!! shaq no doubt was more dominant!!!! hakeem is better...but not as fully dominant.....no one ever wanted to drive the ball in on hakeem ...especially shaq!

  • @DaBusDriva92 O'Neal can only carry Olajuwon's water bottles. Can't compare brick layers with basketball palyers!!

  • @Clitennestra79 hahah, I like that

  • @DaBusDriva92 Wilt Chamberlain all time record for most points in a game (100) and rebounds in a game (55).

  • @IKroNiKaLz ok, whats your point? Scott Skiles holds the record for most all time assists in a game with 30... whats your point?

  • great video man

  • seriously, those 3 blocks in a row where crazy

  • One of the most underrated players ever. I have him ahead of Shaq as all-time best centers ever. They don't remember him like they should. Great, great, player.

  • You said it all. Good call. I am from Franca, São Paulo, Brazil and have been a huge NBA fan since 1997 (I was 9 back then). A better center is yet to come to the league.

  • @godfather4377 you would put him over kareem?

  • @godfather4377 Agreed. I grew up in Houston and had the fortune of watching him in his prime. The early-mid 90's was the NBA's golden era for dominant centers and Olajuwon dominated them all. How many people remember that Taco Bell was gonna sponsor a 1-on-1 between Shaq and Olajuwon and show it on pay-per-view? Olajuwon would've murdered him.

  • I remember that and we all wanted to see it .. I live in H-town too ..

  • @whiteflash1323 Yes I definitely remember that...Hakeem was the most finesse and the most diverse skilful player to ever play. We desperately need another type of Hakeem in the league

  • @godfather4377 underrated? The dude won 2 titles and MJ said he's take him over Shaq...

  • one of the damn greatest!!!

  • His creativity was unmatched. His skillset was simply spectacular. He could do it all 1st Team Defense, Defensive player of the year, all time shot blocker with no one even within 1,000 blocks, top 8 all time steals( which is crazy as he was a center for crying out loud).

This guy could kill you with his power, his turn around jumper, his Dream Shake, his spinning drive that would lead to easy buckets, his fade away from 20 ft from the basket, his passing.... He truly was THE DREAM!!!

  • From 1993-1995 Hakeem beat Patrick Ewing, David Robinson ,and Shaq Oneal all when it counted

  • Hakeem took Robinson's lunch money.

Best ever post moves by a big man, so much speed, handles, counter-post moves and accuracy.

  • rocket hired him to teach yao ming in his first season

  • audioslave - im the highway

  • whats the song name?

  • Great song

  • i agree with KGPF21

  • finally a basketball clip without that demonized hip hop music THANK U. 5 stars

  • Nba Anthem Checkin' In From Were You Yot These Clips ?

  • probably the best collection of plays of any olajuwon video here. music wasn't bad actually either.

  • good plays, great mix, FUCKIN LAME MUSIC!
