Lots of slow 40 times for notable RBs at this years Combine: Gartrell Johnson 4.75, Brandon Ore 4.75, Shoon Greene 4.69, Knowshon Moreno 4.63, Javon Ringer 4.60, Beanie Wells 4.59, Glen Coffee 4.58 etc. Yet Jacob Hester 4.61 & Peyton Hillis 4.58 are both considered too slow to play tailback. It sure makes a lot of sense. And with Woodhead 4.38 40, cuts on a dime and 20 bench presses at 225; great for size; his problem is height; any excuse to leave out the white/Asian/Hispanic etc. tailback.

FB Le'ron McClain has got to be the slowest man in the last 20 years allowed to lead his team in rushes. He ran a 4.88 at the NFL combine. I have never heard of any runner that slow allowed to carry the ball! He actually did a somewhat solid job, surprisingly.

There are some guys with a 4.65 40 time that might be able to succeed at HB in the NFL. Overrated Lendale White is a 4.6 guy. M. Bush times about 4.62 and is a bull of a runner. Terrell Davis and Emmitt Smith were 4.6 guys. Peyton Hillis of the Broncos is a 4.58 guy. Ryan Torain ran a 4.6. Selvin Young 4.58. Mike Hart ran a 4.67. Tony Hunt 4.66. Even labeled burner Brian Westbrook ran a 4.56. The list goes on of RBs who run 4.55 or slower who can play in the NFL, but Dayne is not one of them!

You have to also remember that these men are more fully grown than guys from H.S. 8 YPC and 2000 yards in one yr. at Chadron is amazing. I truly believe that if Woodhead came from the Texas 5A league he would have still had McGuffie type stats. Woodhead is an athletic freak. He set some H.S records in Nebraska, but was told he was too small by Bill Calahan to play there. What a dumb decision considering they had Cory Ross who was the same size as Woodhead.

For all you haters this guy ran for 8 YPC his Sophomore year at Chadron State Division II. That would be at least 9 yards per carry in 5A Texas H.S football. Yeah it's not the SEC or Big 12, but it is still a higher level of football than 5A Texas H.S IMO when you consider some of these guys were really hidden gems missed by the FBS or guys who couldn't afford to be FBS walk-ons financially. To bad Woodhead blew out his knee in Jet training camp; by all accounts he was blowing the coaches away!

Dayne has sure done alot in the NFL lol, with his 4.65 40 yard time and lack of good agility to boot. Dayne hasn't even been a good power back in the NFL. If you want to see three good power backs in action check out Brandon Jacobs, Michael Bush and Peyton Hillis footage last year. Woodhead would definitely outdo Dayne in the NFL. Woodhead is another Maurice Jones-Drew. Woodhead cuts like DeAngelo Williams and ran a 4.33 and 4.38 40 yard dash at his Pro Day with a ridiculous 1.43 10 yard burst.

Hightower ran for 4.8 YPC in Div. IAA and is predicted to be drafted. Woodhead is bigger than Maurice Jones-Drew, Joe Morris & Darren Sproles. He's the same size as Warrick Dunn, Brian Westbrook and Barry Sanders. His agility is so good he is a poor man's Barry Sanders and that is still quite a compliment. Ran a 4.38 40.
