How the heck did I miss this for 6 years?!?

As whole Tristania albums go, I still prefer the first two (Morten Veland´s Tristania...) but there are some real gems on their later albums.

This song is just magical. The atmosphere, the fantastic voices.

Heck, I think it may well be the best symphonic metal song I´ve ever heard!

One of the very,very few "Gothic Metal" songs I like,Vibeke is a perfect singer.I remember that at this time there was several quality Metal things on Mainstream,Tristania,Lacrimosa peeking a bit on mainstream also,Lacuna Coil,Mudvayne,Deftones,Staind,­and a few others,all are disbanded or just dead now,anyway,it was a very cool phase!

You know, I'd love gothic metal if it didn't have harsh vocals. I love the sorrowful sounding melodies, the wailing clean female vocals, etc. But harsh vocals kind of ruin it for me. Don't get me wrong, I am a big fan of death metal, so it's not like I hate all kinds of harsh vocals, but I don't want them creeping into my sweet, melancholic gothic metal.

@InferiorNightmare it wasnt the same Tristania when Morten left. I think both Morten and Vibeke were the main reason they got popular, based on their voices together. Beyond the Veil is still to this day, their best seller.

@awesomoh4000 Vibeke is the woman in the video and the former vocalist of Tristania. She left the band for personal reasons. They got a new singer, but of course, it's not the same and she's very missed. For me, the best Tristania albums are Widow's Weed and Beyond The Veil, when Morten Veland (singer, composer) was still in the band. He composed very good music. They changed a lot of members through the years. You should check Wikipedia if you wanna know more. I hope I could help you.
