somewhere online theres a list of hundreds of complaints about directv. some were saying that they let a friend pay one time w/ their cc. then directv decided to charge their card with other people's cancel fees/whatnot.
i would report it as fraud to cops. also i would record anyone who promises anything down phone before i pay. just so they cant deny it when its time to go to court. theses companies work on a sales bonus for their employees, meanin the more the sales reps get the more they get payed. most of em will tell u the earth is flat if they are gettin payed to. best thing is to record everything n believe nothing.
My question is why FTC ( Federal Trade Commission) allow these cable companies do whatever they want. Why a harworking person has to pay arms and legs to these blood sucker companies to watch one or two stations. How these companies have such monopoly how.?? How?? Can't consumers dirctly deal with Tv stations and put all these dish and cale companies aside? This is the job of congress man not today but yesterday..

DTV also makes expressed promises by their employees and do business by way of fraud. If you decide to do business with this unethical company do not do not give your credit card number period..
we have every right to collect any money that is due, just as if you dont pay your phone, and exactly you ASSumed, you shouldve asked before getting anything, what the hell did you expect to get services free I don't understand why customers want everything for free, its not a freaking necessity to have tv be able to afford it before you order it, its your fault for not asking. not ALL of us are liars so please, we have people lying to us all the time so save your sermon..

I finally received a Full Refund so I'm quite happy now. DirecTV rips people off all the time, and it's no wonder when they have folks like Julie working for them.

This is consistent with my experiences in their wireless division. Cincinnati bell's customer service is attrocius. I believe this illegal practice is called Cramming and you should turn them in to the Public Utilities Commission (where they're developing quite a reputation).
They are a bunch of cheaters, it's bad enough that they cheat you normally...don't let you have to move, they will really break it off in you. They will tell you anything to get you off of the phone, and dealing with them on your rates is like dealing with a used car salesman. I'm glad I learned long ago not to let a cable company to ever get you into a direct withdrawl...If Jesus were still alive he would turn the dishes and receivers into a pillars of salt My contract is up this month I'm out
I just got direct tv about 2 weeks ago (changed from cox because I thought their customer service was crappy) and I am starting to see some issues with their customer service. Definitely no uniformity or consistency coming from those guys. The lady who arranged my install didn't include all the services I had coming to me, like whole house DVR. Finding a rep who could rectify the problem has been difficult and ongoing. I hope sir you get your money back and more!
Been in a similar situation but not with DirectTV. You DO have to pay attention because for one reason or another these places do make mistakes. Fortunately, the place that did this to me made it good and hope the same happens for you. :)
