while I agree about the rest of the team and the pitching, it didn't really matter when paste and bay are slapping them out of the park almost every time they step in the box...definately the best team in the game, just because of those two guys

well if you are playing with another user we simply pitch to paste which he usually hits a hard single (his lifetime batting avg is .500) then walk paste so you have guys at first and second the ford comes up and grounds into a double play and james flies out...happens all the time thats why they suck.

You can throw any pitch you want in bases loaded. Fast ball, cutter, curve ball, screw ball, change ups, tailing fast balls, sinkers. some pitchers have more speed than others and other pitchers have more movement with their pitches than others....just depends on the pitcher.

I realize this isn't the best game of all time from a technical point, but it is my favorite game of all time. I always used Omaha, and like one of the other posters I gave my players first names. The worst thing about this game was the very limited range of the infielders. It was very frustrating to see bloops fall over the head of an infielder running in place.

My brothers and I have been playing tournaments over the summer with bases loaded for 7 years now and we have found out that the best hitters in the game are: Agua (Utah), Warner (Miami),and Fendy (DC). The best pitchers are: Quinta (Utah), Bopper (Boston), Henter (Miami), and Perez (Texas)

I used to make up first names for the players. Fink was Jim Fink. Paste was Joe Paste. Be Jersey. Paste would hit about 200 home runs in a season. The occasional bench clearing ball was a highlight. The post season parade was disappointing. You had to keep your own stats! I couldn't play unless I kept my own stats!

Baseball Stars is easily the best baseball game for the NES and likely the best game of baseball ever. It's not licensed at all, but it is a really advanced simulation of the sport and is pretty amazing for its time. The game had a pretty fast pace too.

Bases Loaded is awesome. The controls are so easy to get used to, and when you're fielding, your man always starts moving towards the ball, so if there's a popup, you'll almost always catch it if you don't move the controller.

Make sure to pick Jersey, because their batting average overall is great.

A quick trick: steal from 3rd during a pitch, and don't swing at it. If it's a fastball the catcher will throw to 3rd; don't go back. You'll run past the catcher and safely home for a run.

In my opinion, baseball has never been a game that emulates and plays well on console compared to other sports such as hockey.
