I think both versions are beautiful, in different ways. Adele has a voice that's perfection and pure power, and Gwyneth has a voice that - despite that it's not perfect - has this raw edge to it that just breathtaking in its intensity and ringing beauty. Both are amazing in thier own ways, and I don't think Adele could ever compare to Gweyneth, nor could Gwyneth ever compare to Adele. Both versions rock my socks off. :)

When I watch Adele sing this live it sounds like she sings, "I won't let you close enough to hurt me.no,.I won't rescue you to just desert me". I know the lyrics I googled said, "Ask you to just desert me, but it sounds like Adele sings different lyrics for the chorus. "I won't ask you to just desert me" doesn't make sense. Watch Adele live and see what you think. I love Adele's version better, but Gwenyth did a good job.
