While I don't generally like the smug, condescending attitude of the Rock Steady era guys, I would guess that he felt strongly against the sacrilegious act of calling yourself "boogaloo" when boogaloo couldn't be further from your style. Just like in Legend v Watson, circa 2003, Mike won over the crowd with the same kind of novelty blowups seen here. Its a classic crowd pleasers vs old school scenario.
