  • that's not Professor Kuo (of San Francisco) dreilly

  • looks like a nut bar

  • I have surely not. And I have met different people of different opinions regarding the teachings of M. Yao saying that other firts generations students of M. Wang such as Han Xinyuan and Han Xinqiao and others were closer to the "true" yi quan. But for me, it all opinions, one thing is sure, when I meet a man of 75 that can still demonstrate true efficiency, then I know he has understood something in good training that few can claim during a lifetime.

  • Dear Munndialarts

Do you really believe many people could understand what a Genius (Giant Wang) talking about !!

You may right a man of 75 is efficient still, but extremely he is on the stage of Ying Yi Kuen level only not YiKuen.

Again and again, YiKuen has no external movements, All by intention and spirit. So.. called YiKuen.

    Philip

  • Dear Philip, yi quan is a profound and precious contribution to martial arts. I really understand your passion, which I share. M. Wang has left us a treasure to explore. I simply think that we are lucky that some people who have met him are still alive to share this direct experience with us like M. Guo. Is he doing harm to yi quan by expressing his knowledge through his level? Texts are great but direct human experience is better. Yi has to take form in combat, this is the test beyong theory

  • Dear Munndialarts

I understand yr point of view.

YiKune was perceived by Giant, and I think it is very very difficult for followers to perceive it thoroughly.

I feel great pleasure to have chance in touching this Summit Martial Art in my life.

Giant Wang Xian Zhai was a Genius !!!!!!!!

    Philip

  • This person is teaching styles to attack opponent. This is method. Also, he is using his own force in movement. This is the opposite direction in training and learning Yi Guan. Honestly to say, this is totally wrong in YiGuan concepts. Down to the ground, how to fight other nations' Martial Artists with these kinds of attacking ideas. Real Yi Guan is Real fighting Combat. This film is just only a show! or chessing movement!

    Fm Philip in Hong Kong

  • Always sad to read such unfounded comments. M. Guo trained briefly under M. Wang although he trained mostly under M. Yao & M. Yu. As yi quan is getting more popular, we see little clans forming around different masters claiming ultimate knowledge of what the art is supposed to be, criticizing others without real knowledge of their capicities. The spirit of M. Wang was one of openness, avoiding false claims. You should simply travel to Datong and meet directly with M. Guo, a skillfull man of 75.

  • Dear Munndialarts Giant Master Wang said (Not Me) that he is afraid he cannot recongize the next next generations are practicing YiKuen. You are right that the spirit fm Giant was one of the openness, but it don't mean that useless external movement represents YiKuen. Besides, I don't think anyone (called Master) can have over 5% power and skill fm Giant Wang. They even know nothing in YiKuen, only imitating the movement and style like TaiChi. Cont..

  • Pls don't forget that YiKuen has No-Style, and only has 3 steps - Standing, Force trying/learning and Combat(For pure fighting). YiKuen is something even penetrating the field of Combat also. This is more higher level. Moreover, I wrote some comments on others even the best student (fm Giant) Master Yao also. At last, I can only tell you that Yi means spirit, YiKuen is not something which can be percieved from external movements and styles. Otherwises, wasteing lifetime and know nothing.

    Philip

  • Of course M. Wang was a great and unique martial artist and person. Still, you still should be sure to meet a man face to face before creticizing his level from only a clip... Also, dead martial artists always have a aura of supernatural and greatness that no living man seems to be able to achieve, no? Yes maybe the essence of M. Wang teachings have been lost in the next generations, maybe not. It is difficult for us to really know today since he is dead. Have you met him? Cont...

  • Yrs comments are precious and at least objective! Fm my point of views, Giant's concept was all written down on paper already!! The problem is Can we have ability to learn them.

Just the name YiKuen is so simple to indicate that all external movement needed to be abolished. Otherwise, the name should change back to Ying Yi Kune. Moveover, do we need to meet all Scientific Giants b4 absorbing their Wisdom and Knowledge ? It is only about one's Wisdom enough or not in knowing the real things. C.

  • Nevertheless, what u said 'supernatural' was not owned by Giant Wang only. His Master Kwok Wan Sum could own the same strength also. That means anyone can achieve the MArt Summit once they have high wisdom to perceive the training methods and truth. Fm my info, Master Yao was always blamed by Giant even he was at his physical peak. YiKuen KungFu would not lose because Giant left all for us alrealy, only can we have a total-opened mind to accept a total-new concept.

  • So that, I don't need to meet Giant directly. Even if Giant Wang stand beside me to teach directly, I still can't understand what he is talking about if my potential, knowledge and Wisdom isn't enough to absorb.

    Philip

  • I don't care he is master Guo or not ,or even champion. But, if Great Master Wang Xian Zhai watch this, I think Master will fill with tears in his eyes with angry to the development in future generation.

Yi Guan is not about external movement!!! Yi means Spirit(intention). It is not using methods to win.

  • awesome!

  • Oh! I see, The one i am speakin about was champion in the 60´s, and come from the same school. Regards

  • This is not the master Guo who was three times national martials arts. Perhaps this guy is explaining the same fighting techs he use to teach. The one who has win three times the china national was tung kuo tsao, I knew him, and I am sure this guy is not him.

  • This is master Guo Guizhi who was indeed 3 times national and Shanxi regional champion starting in 1979. He was 49 years old the first time he won... He was the student in yi quan/ da cheng quan of master Yao Zong Xun for 20 years and also of master Yu Yong Nian. Today, in his mid 70's his power and overall vitality is still very amazing and inspiring.

  • Possibly the worst martial artist ever.

  • arigustengi you don't have a clue what you're talking about.

  • definetaly not a clue of what you're tallking about

  • Master Guo enjoys the extraordinary reputation of having been three times National Martial Arts Champion of China. He is the fountainhead of Da Cheng Chuan in its native province, with a living network of practitioners following his teachings throughout Northern China.

  • I Chuan doesn't look like much, but it is all internal power. It is a shortened version of Hsing Yi Chuan. It is also a good art to complement an external style with.

  • go back to line dancing. Tardo!

  • Maitre Guo Guizhi donne un cours sur une application martiale du Da Cheng Quan. Il a 74 ans.
