  • Thank You for posting this! I am trying to learn tabla (have no idea what Im doing...) and I can't find a teacher in my area, so this is super helpful! Thanks!!!

  • @kav123

Kav, thanks so much for the tip about the twine, it improved the sound of my tabla immensely! I have an old used set (probably at least 10 years old), that I only started to get back into playing thanks to your videos. Thanks again, and keep up the good work!

  • wats the tuner app called? i like the 1 ur using

  • @SoULja51NGH Cleartune, fantastic app still using it, havn't searched for any other ones since

  • bro, my dayan at a B scale...no matter how hard i try to get it to C or D, it stays at B..piss take!! can u help??

  • @anand1285 sorry for late reply, the twine may help you, but it also comes down to a lot of factors like the wooden block and skin used, diameter of the dayan, any idea on the size of your dayan ex. 5" , 5.25" and were it was made?

  • Uau, it´s very useful to me...I would like also to see a video as how to procede to change de lether braces....Thank you.

  • you rock KAV, Is was using vtallapragada videos for self learning the basics of tabla and now your videos are a very nice extension. Love your work and the TABLA SW from your site rocks, but i am not that good yet to use that for practicing. Please keep your videos coming and we understand being a student not always gives you alot of time free, i know this beacuse i am one as well

  • Hey Kav, you didn't explain why you would change the twine/ how often etc...

But I like how easy it is to follow this tutorial. peace

  • @ThePranja , I may add some annotations in the video was short on time, thanks.

  • @ThePranja I know this is a late reply, but u only change the twine if the old one is damaged or get's loose and give the buzz noise in the dayan. Also, thanks for this vid. Kav. So, Daya means right and Baya means left in hindi too :)
