  • Do you have a video showing ways to practice minfulness and alertness? Sorry this is the first video of yours I've seen. I'm very interested in meditation...I feel foggy most of the time, having anxiety and depression. Extreme fatigue most of the day. Is it possible to counteract such feelings with meditation?

  • i think the bird concept helped me allot :O thanks!

  • Bhante, thank you for this useful and lucid summary! A lack of understanding of these joint factors is responsible for many problems that yogis have in their practice, that is to say that without clear comprehension our sati becomes more like really tough concentration practice instead of seeing into. I am not sure however if the work of balancing in appropriate for beginners to bring into their practice. For yogis working in the lower vipassana nyanas, maybe the teacher should to this. Daniel

  • i'm still listening to the other videos but i had to add that i appreciate your explanation through the videos you offer! i saw myself previously over thinking what mediation was. Now i feel more at peace and understand how what mediation really is. in fact i have finally been able to do it without judgment and over thinking but with peace and clarity... being in the moment and enjoying it for what it is.. my understanding of being more conscious! thankyou!

  • Nice discussion of mindfulness

  • and find a dictionary, reductionism is not the same is withdrawl from reality

but anyways, meditation is anything but withdrawl from reality, getting swept away in your thoughts is a withdrawl from reality

  • This seems like reductionism, or withdrawl from reality. A clear perception of the world would not result in a feeling of clarity; it would result in a feeling of complication. The outside world is not the mind, or a part of the mind. It is its own thing. It is non-trivial.

  • meditate..find out for your self before u make a judgment

  • The bird metaphor at the end creates a beautiful visualization of how we can keep our minds healthy.

  • you should try it

  • extremely wise words. i can ralte to this in my general life and the way things seem to work in the universe, although i have never really done meditiation.
