if you listen closely you hear an inhumanly deep voice shadowing tim's vocals, and it's quite offputting in the best way imaginable, of course.

Inhumanly deep voice? It's because he is not 120 pounds like every other singer. It is a real sized man singing so naturally his voice is deep.
