  • For the 2009 film Sherlock Holmes, "The Daily Variety" reported that Zimmer purchased an out-of-tune piano for 200 dollars and used it throughout the scoring process because of its "quirkiness".

  • hans zimmer ...> oh my god < fucking great music

  • Why is this the one song on that soundtrack you can't buy the MP3 for? It's also the one song they won't play on Pandora.

  • The bagpipes you hear are uilleann pipes (irish pipes)

  • First, distract target, then block his blind jab, counter with cross to left cheek. Discombobulate. Dazed, will attempt wild haymaker. Employ elbow block, and body shot. Block feral left, weaken right jaw, now fracture. Break cracked ribs, traumatize solar plexus, dislocate jaw entirely. Heel kick to diaphragm. In summary: ears ringing, jaw fractured, three ribs cracked, four broken, diaphragm haemmorraging. Full psychological recovery: six months. especially the bagpipes!

  • 3:00 makes me feel like I wanna slice zombies in half with a katana

  • this film should have won this oscars :<

  • Is that a flute in the back ground?

  • @EdwardFarrington no bagpipes :)

  • @thebigbluefly really?

  • does any one know when is this played in movie?

  • @TheOlvaid This song was played during Holmes' ritual scene, where he tries to recreate the Four Order's ritual to track down where Blackwood will strike next.

  • @TheOlvaid The whole climactic sequence, from Holmes' meeting with the Count through the Tower bridge fight.

  • ohhh if this movie was in 3D :D

it would hav beeeen fantastic :D

  • @Syomi101

I bet it was prof. Moriarty !!!

  • @mosesthesecond

    Discombobulated?

    No excuse

  • @mosesthesecond don't say that too much, now, here comes the internet meme!

  • @mosesthesecond they meant... dis i like =D

  • @mosesthesecond No, they were not yet done with theyre psychological recovery.

  • @MW13NH Nah...their full faculty recovery is already deemed unlikely...

  • @Syomi101 It was probably too epic for them

  • @Syomi101 they probably missed by accident.

Or at least that's the only logical explanation

  • @Syomi101 Blackwood and Moriarti Why?

  • @Syomi101 so why this fucking comment? Don't you realize that you are just removing interesting comments that could be here instead of this ugly cliche?

  • @Syomi101 They were only in the third month of Psychological recovery.

  • @Trombellophone lol i like how you have playlists for hw on certain days... i should do that

  • @Syomi101 one of them was moriarty.

dridger and his gang in lock readon's lab .

  • Could you please try to repost 'Panic, Shear Bloody Panic'? It's not on here anymore...

  • @DOUGLA192 Yeah, I clicked on it and was like, WTF/?!?!?!?!?

  • same guy that did the backdraft song

  • 8:33 rocks !! :D

  • The first part of this track is Holmes confronting Lord Coward. 2:56 is, "Well, that leaves very little time"--DART!

It basically then continues throughout the climax.

  • JUDE LAWWWWWWWWWWW.... O.o

  • from 8.31 to 9.12 sounds so kool! I LOVE sherlock holmes but I have to wait like 2 years for the next movie to come out. FAR OUT!!

  • omg this is making my spine tingle its so amazing

  • Thumbs up if the beginning half of this should be Dredger's theme.

  • At 4:13-4:27 , does anyone else think those low brass chords sound like a slower version of the chime melody of the clock tower Big Ben, except in a minor chord?

  • @q4t5p6h YES! i knew i wasn't the only one who thought so!

  • @indescriibablexx You are so awesome for responding! Thanks, indescriibablexx :)

  • @q4t5p6h

I can't find the section, but they use it in the second battle with Dredger, and its almost double time.

    PS. "Westminster Bells"

  • At 5:11 it starts to sound like Modern Warfare 2...

  • @zenny1329 Hans Zimmer composed the Modern Warfare 2 music :)

  • @zenny1329 and yes i had that feeling too at that moment

  • this movie was soooooooo amazing I watched it at

watch WPY last WPY movies . c o m ( de le te WPY )

and now I will buy the DVD

  • By far Hans Zimmer's best work, this soundtrack is.

  • from 5:10 musc gives me chills (the good way:D

    )

  • 3:00 to 3:21 = most amazing bit of the song

  • "Relax... i'm a doctor!"

  • "O_O ...Watson... what have you done?" Love that line! :D This music is so epic. ^_^

  • Physical recovery.... 6 weeks...psychological recovery....6 months....ability to spit on back of head...neutralized.

  • 9:48 to a few seconds into the second part, I think that music plays after holmes dives out of coward's quarters and tells the captain to go to the sewers. You hear it just as the ship's horn blows and the parliament clock ticks to 11:50.

  • "You wear a jacket."

  • @thatgreekguy101

    No you wear a jacket.

  • from 8:32 is the best part :))

  • From 5:00 till 5:50 thats the best part

  • I love robert downy jr he is so cute and played that part man i am sooo excited for the second one but besides the movie man this soundttrack is awesome this guy has outdone the music for mysteries this is top noch i hope he does the music for part2

  • Is this the part when he's being chased by the huge guy/scene with the boat?

  • @labbie87 No, that song is "I Never Woke Up in Handcuffs Before.

  • the first part sounds alot like modern warfare 2 hans zimmer did them both his music is awsome

  • @il2il I thought that too... and it did come out before this movie movie came out.

  • This is the best soundtrack ever!! And Robert Downey Jr. was the PERFECT actor for this part, he outdid my highest expectations.

  • Uilleann pipes 3.40 mins in

  • This track is just incredible!

  • 66sjones@, Its "Rocky Road to Dublin"

  • does anyone know the name of the song that plays during the fight club scene? i really like that song and i cant find it.

  • phsycological recovery number 11 very long like 19 min

  • The boatman that Holmes gets Watson to hire really pisses him off, doesn't he?

"I told you he would be comin' out of the top window, soldier boy, there's no way he'd be coming out of that terrace."

"But that's not the top window, is it, "sailor boy"?"

    "Then what is it then?"

    "...Well, it's the middle window!"

    "ANYWAY!"

Just reminded me, cos at 3:06- 4:11 he jumps out the window, meets the boatman and has that conversation (When this music comes in the movie). I loled.

  • This is the music for like the last twenty action minutes of the movie.

  • his work in the dark knight is spectacular, but i love this soundtrack the best. It's use of folk instruments in conjunction with traditional orchestration is spectacular. The use of the big ben church chimes as a sub-theme reminds me of shostakovich's use of the william tell ouverture in his 15th symphony.

  • I knew from the opening scene of this movie that Hans Zimmer composed this. He is genius

  • @captaindavyjones91 Yeah, I also recognize his style anytime hear his music in a movie, and yes he is truly a genius! =D

  • "We take power at noon"

"Well.....There isn't any time to waste then is there?"

    (gunshot) (zoom!) (gunshot) (splash)

  • Interesting that he also did the soundtrack for MW2. The last mission with the skipper boat sounded a bit like TDK which is where I grew my suspicions. Hans Zimmer is everywhere lately.

  • How is the instrument at 3:40-4:02 called?

  • violin

  • really? it sounds so very different

  • @Dratini999 They purposely made it slightly out of tune and then followed that up with a scratchy bow.

  • Scottish Highland bagpipe

  • ah ok now that sounds more convincing xD

    thanks a lot ^^

  • @1td They are uilleann pipes(Irish pipes)

  • please upload more from hans zimmer :)

  • I love this song, this song is exciting!!

  • I now have to own this soundtrack.

  • does anyone know what song is in the end titles from SH? the one with the irisch or scotisch chanting?

  • rocky road to dublin

  • It was kind of funny: I sat in cinema and heard the soundtrack, not knowing that it was by Hans Zimmer.

And I thought:"Wow, great, that must be one of these awesome componists, that's not the type of music you usually hear in films."

And well, at the end there was "Hans Zimmer" on the screen and I knew I was right =)

I've seen Stallion Of The Cimarron and Pirates Of The Caribbean, his music is just unbelievable.

    AND he's a compatriot of mine, he's german =)

  • The greatest movie of 2009! Robert Downey Jr in indeed an amazing actor!

Notice at 8:31 the back round music kinda sounds like Iron man. :P

  • Actually that sounds more like the Big Ben melody Type" Big Ben chimes" in the search bar.

  • LOVE THIS MOVIE SOOOO MUCH

  • I think it is not bad that part of his stuff is similar. It' s just a style of music he makes. And it' s unbelievable!!!

  • Hans Zimmer is epic.

    Hism music is epic.

    Those films are epic.

    ... what a trio O.o

  • @RombTaidor nicely said

  • Alot of his stuff sounds similar, you can hear Pirates in Gladiator and The Rock also.

  • @Towley12 and MW2

  • i totally agree

  • I agree, but I think it's great you can recognize some parts, rythms, but it's completely different though !

and I guess it's great because you always recognize HANS ZIMMEr, the best ever ever ever composer ^^

  • Yeah I totally agree, I think some people have got the wrong idea, I wasn't saying it was a bad thing, just something I noticed and pointed out.

  • @Towley12

That's his mark of authenticity :3

  • @Towley12 Same composer, as I'm sure you know. Shows he really puts himself into everything he composes!

  • I noticed that, but with this and TDK, I think he comes to his own.

  • Yeah, I agree, and both are amazing! But why the hell are people marking down your comment? It was a compliment, and there was one before tht got marked down for no reason lol

  • 3:00 just makes me want to run around the place.

    I love this soundtrack.

  • Hans Zimmer man he be creating the beasty music for movies like for the dark knioght i loved why so serious(the song)

  • i really like this movie and im waitin for the 2nd and the 3rd one to come out on theater...ritchie guy did a great job.

  • it leaves itself open for a sequel yeah (in fact there's no way they didn't make this without planning one) but what makes you think there's gonna be a third?

  • cuz i heard that Guy Ritchie is planning to make a trilogy Sherlock holmes like Batman...that's what i heard!!

  • Apparently, Brad Pitt might play Moriarty in the next film.

  • @iainmacdo

i dont mean to be rude here but i highly doubt someone like Brad Pitt would look good for the role. for a character with Moriarty's calibre, they'd need a convincing, by convincing I mean at least as old looking as holmes. though if he really was the one who voiced him, then, by all means put him on, cause I really liked the voice. That and, Ledger as Joker completely took me by surprise, and I loved it.

  • It just wouldnt be the same

  • @popitypop

I think what was meant is that Moriarty is typically described as quite a bit older than Holmes. Brad Pitt looks younger than RDJ by quite a bit, whereas the Professor was always portrayed as his elder. Then again, they've royally screwed the canon in the new movie anyway(NOT saying it isn't still good), so who knows? It's possible.

  • @CafacciBros haha his name is guy ritchie

    but i completely agree =)

  • @CafacciBros Wait... I knew there was a sequel, but a third?

  • @Curreeuss Well that's what i heard...that Sherlock Holmes gonna be like Batman a "trilogy"

  • again bloody brilliant

  • FANTASTIC

  • at 2:32 it has that feeling of....idk...(for me) being drunk. lol. or just mysteriousness....

  • The song Abaudulaire is looking for is: I've never woke up in handcuffs Before.

  • 3:05 is my favorite part. It gives me the urge to run somewhere...

  • Does anyone know the name of the song when Holmes and Watson are fighting the tall French guy and the two arsonists? I know that sounds a little vague, but if anyone knows what I'm talking about...haha. I believe they were in the ginger midget's workshop.

  • its called i never woke up in handcuffs before
