For the 2009 film Sherlock Holmes, "The Daily Variety" reported that Zimmer purchased an out-of-tune piano for 200 dollars and used it throughout the scoring process because of its "quirkiness".

Love 8:30 - 9:11. That's my favorite piece of music through the entire movie. They used it in the slaughter house scene and the basement of parliament scene.
i think that hans zimmer is an awesome composer i totally adore his job... since the first time i heard his work on sherlock holmes it captured me and took me to my home... that how special it is for me ;w; thanks for uploading this awsome song ^^ and yeah whos the moron who hit the dislike button... he has no taste at all for music ¬¬ well that it xD loved it ^^
@TheOlvaid This song was played during Holmes' ritual scene, where he tries to recreate the Four Order's ritual to track down where Blackwood will strike next.
Does anyone where to download this song in full and not in two parts? Or is anyone willing to send it to me, if he has it from the original CD and not ripped? :S
@Syomi101 so why this fucking comment? Don't you realize that you are just removing interesting comments that could be here instead of this ugly cliche?
At 4:13-4:27 , does anyone else think those low brass chords sound like a slower version of the chime melody of the clock tower Big Ben, except in a minor chord?
9:48 to a few seconds into the second part, I think that music plays after holmes dives out of coward's quarters and tells the captain to go to the sewers. You hear it just as the ship's horn blows and the parliament clock ticks to 11:50.
I love robert downy jr he is so cute and played that part man i am sooo excited for the second one but besides the movie man this soundttrack is awesome this guy has outdone the music for mysteries this is top noch i hope he does the music for part2
The boatman that Holmes gets Watson to hire really pisses him off, doesn't he?
"I told you he would be comin' out of the top window, soldier boy, there's no way he'd be coming out of that terrace."
"But that's not the top window, is it, "sailor boy"?"
"Then what is it then?"
"...Well, it's the middle window!"
"ANYWAY!"
Just reminded me, cos at 3:06- 4:11 he jumps out the window, meets the boatman and has that conversation (When this music comes in the movie). I loled.
his work in the dark knight is spectacular, but i love this soundtrack the best. It's use of folk instruments in conjunction with traditional orchestration is spectacular. The use of the big ben church chimes as a sub-theme reminds me of shostakovich's use of the william tell ouverture in his 15th symphony.
Interesting that he also did the soundtrack for MW2. The last mission with the skipper boat sounded a bit like TDK which is where I grew my suspicions. Hans Zimmer is everywhere lately.
