  • It's easier and more accurate to use the desaturate, and then use the color history brush. Just my opinion.

  • Great video and thankyou! I used the harder, b & W everything and erase the B&W layer from the picture on the colour I was trying to show

    Lots of work but this method is so much easier!

  • my canon 40d dosen`t have this ``color selection`` function. But! my canon powershot A540 ``pocket camera`` have this function! AND why those fucking japanese people don`t put this function on a semipro camera? and we need to get in cs 4 to make that? wtfk man....

  • Another excellent tutorial! You should assemble a whole series of these and approach Adobe with them... At very least you would get a subscription to the newest versions, and perhaps some compen$ation as well!

  • I use color range selection alot in CS1. Just bought CS4 tonight, and this is one more awesome feature. I don't see alot of revolutionary changes between CS1 and CS4 but there are many tweaks like this that will help alot!!! Content aware scaling should be cool to!

    I just have "Fuzziness" but not "Range"

  • LMAO, on the pc you have an ALT button and on the Mac you have an option button ... theres no such thing as an ALT/Option button :)

  • why not use the cs4 tools there is a much better way then this dup layer make one B&W with the new B&W tool then mask with Colour range simple and more control over the b&w part as you can adjust for contrast on the b&w part

  • how to correct some areas after color range OK confirmation ? because I get grey on some areas I don't want still ...tried to be hero and use eraser tool but mission failed ... only layer mask is on my mind ... but suck at it .... black and white brush stuff ...

  • It is cause of the kind of photoshop you are using. If you are using Photoshop CS4 only then you won´t get the 3D, but if you use the EXTENDED CS4 then you will get 3D.

    I would like to see this tutorial done on a little more complicated subject. Such as where there is a similar color or shade next to the object that you are singling out.Example, a white colored shirt and a light turquoise sweat shirt etc.

  • This was great, thank you so much, as I am new to CS4 I am unfamiliar with the software. You show one option and it can be used on other colors! Have you done other tuturials on other software? If not you should.
