  • Call them up they swap them out

They have a new design that works great.

  • Dude that sucks! I'll just stick with my US GI & P-mags I guess! I wish you could get your money back-I'd keep it just to practice malfunctions & send them the footage-as a F-U type of deal!

  • Just wondering, does it fail with brass case ammo also? I had tons of problem with steel case ammo and now I don't even run them in my shorty Noveske.

  • I can't recreate this with mine. Yours must be defective. they offer a lifetime warranty. Take advantage of it.

  • Your using steel ammo (for some odd reason) I`ve owned an AR15 since 1978 and spent 6 years in Army, and I`ve only used brass ammo. I`ve never had that problem, maybe it`s your ammo choice. Is there a big difference in how steel and brass reacts to the bolt ? Metallurgically there is a difference.

  • try the new L5A's we have some and they're great!

  • I've been shooting my lancers for a year and a half now and I run them hard. The L5 and L5A and 20 rounders. No problems. All mags allow rounds to pop like that....but I didn't see you try to chamber any, just looked at it.

  • Look at them MAN tits!

  • lol you guy induce these malfunction yourself! take a real shooting class or something!

  • @chenutz

    You sir, are an idiot.

  • Those mags are total shit

  • @SuperRayTango no they're fine, they guy its just moving the bolt to slowly. his fault, that gun isnt made of porcelain. basically ignorant propaganda.

  • What kind of ar is that. Its awesome

  • Wow, that sucks - did they change it?

  • @andy7666 that will happen with nearly all mags. the mag is fine, he's just to slow to draw the bolt. I used those and p-mags in my deployment in afghanistan and had no issues, although I wasn't using an ar-15. the lancer mags I bought at Khandahar from a guy who was just leaving, they were a little battered but they worked fine.

  • Is it just me or is it the camera. It seems like your camera has a slow frame rate.

  • @drabzong I was wondering when someone would catch it. I have been purposely rendering the videos in half frame rate because my slow ass computer is not fast enough to render in full HD. I am looking to upgrade my computer ASAP so it is only temporary.

  • @Iraqveteran8888 Lol ok i thought there was something wrong with my computer thanks!

  • @drabzong It doesn't look that bad does it? I can never watch my own videos in full quality so I wouldn't even know.

  • @Iraqveteran8888 It looks good but it just doesn't hold the quality as good as the regular frame rate.

  • @drabzong I hear ya. I have limited money to spend on this kind of stuff but I was shooting videos on a Cybershot so my camera needed upgrading a lot worse. I can render in hull 1080I HD at 60 FPS but it takes my slow ass computer like a whole day to render a 10 minute video so I had to find a happy medium.... :)

  • Thats why I only use the PMags... never have failed me yet... Interesting video though...

  • Interesting, thanks for showing this!

  • What crap, fill it up with Tannerite , then use your AR. Lets see if it works in that APPL.

  • specs on the ar?

  • Another you tuber made a video response to this video showing even the pmags and steel mags do the same thing and showed that it wouldn't jam it just looks bad? do you think the malfunction just maybe looks bad but really isn't? because from what he showed they all do that? Good video though to point that out maybe thats why people have FTF just might have made the AR more reliable. You never know.

  • Always happens on any mag... Pmags are great but they even do it... problem is you got to smoothly rack and release, and there is no problem as long as the mags are properly filled and tapped... Set the rounds when loading or before inserting a mag... pmags you can get away with more granted. U can have feed problems using the bolt release tooo, always rack and let it slam home, just like a handgun... don't treat it like a woman, just let it fly

  • ugh, that'd be a tough solution with plastic lip (how about a sheet metal bridge at fwd end of lip).

you could buy an ar57/ps90 and use as a brass catcher ;o(

  • steel case ammo is sticky compared to brass, this didn't happen with my AR using brass ammo and GI mags. Who racks a bolt back slow anyways?

  • doesnt the government buy everything from the lowest bidder? rifles included?

  • Buy Magpul PMAGs and be done with it.

  • another good note about magpul p-mags is the dust cover that they ship with, one they keep crap from getting in the mag and then into the weapon. But also they push down on the first round to relieve pressure on the feed lips of the mag. And when readied for use the dust cover snaps onto the bottom of the mag. Really smart stuff from those guys! Plus the mag has a slot in it to except the spoon so you can use clips to reload them, just like the G.I mags! And they sell a version with a window.

  • It's not an issue nor a malfunction, it will feed just fine.

  • I used three of the lancers yesterday in a bowling pin shoot at my club, plus three p-mags. No malfunctions from any of the mags. I have used these Lancers before in other competitions without failures. I have had failures with GI mags i load most mags from stripper clips. Thanks for the vids. and info. JT out.

  • Confirmed myself with 2 loaded, and 1 downloaded PMAG, they do this aswell, HOWEVER, the round STILL is able to chamber no problem with release of the bolt. Just one other reason to load with the bolt locked back. No AR mag is perfect.

(Also to clarify, I only use PMAGs, just showing that it's not only the Lancers that do this.)

  • WOLF forever!

  • Do AKs have the same issue?

  • @CarlRF99 No issue, doesn't cause a stoppage. Rack that handle back like a man.

  • @CarlRF99 Certain AKs do others don't. A lot of people are complaining about WASR 10/63 AKs not feeding properly and shitty Tapco mags.

  • Is that a Noveske AR15 sbr?

  • @CarlRF99 I don't think so... I did some checking after my comment last night and it looks like an earlier gen carbon 15 upper. Lots of issues with those Prof Ord models and the early bushmaster versions if I recall correctly.

  • disable resample

  • Honestly, I have heard nothing but complaints about these mags from anyone who has tried them. I dont own any myself (Mostly because of the complaints I have heard) and I run either magpul or USGI Aluminum mags in my ars without any problems.

The Lancer mags are pretty well known for having issues.

  • I have always been told and trained that its a 30 rounds magazine and hence has been designed to function correctly with 30 or less rounds in it. The only time we've been taught to put less in is in desert or dusty conditions.

  • IraqVeteran have you ever considered doing a series about the ins and outs of AR magazines. I'm not an AR shooter but I've noticed its a very common topic of discussion among those who are. Your series on the MN series of rifles was really good so I thought the same level of detail would be useful on the magazine issue as well.

  • Pmags do this too

  • I use Tapco mags and load them fully and have never had any issue whatsoever.

  • Thanks for the heads up. I have not had any problems with fully loaded Pmags or surplus colt mags either (so far)

  • Yet another reason to us PMAG's

  • hmm brown bear

  • I've been using lancer mags for a couple years and never had this problem and doesn't replicate in my SW MP upper/doublestar lower or in my BCM rifle.

What upper is he using in the vid...? It doesn't look like a milspec upper to me.

  • Tons of guys (myself included) use these in combat. They're great mags and more reliable than PMAGs.

The ones on this video are super-old and no one uses these anymore. Also, DOWNLOAD YOUR MAGS to 28! Everyone who goes through basic learns that.

  • Golf ball launcher FTW!

  • The best AR mags I own are some old 20 round Colt magazines that were made back in the 70's.

  • Thanks for the heads up, good information.

  • nice info

  • These things are why I finally just gave up on that platform. Broken charging handles at gas tubes, bolt separation at cam pin, jammed to the point it could not be repaired in the field etc etc etc. Had four by reputable manufacturers and they now have new homes. Also made in the USA doesn't mean what it used to. This isnt necessarily the workers fault but the bean counters at the top. Hate to say it but the Japanese and Germans do it the best, but not really.

  • have had similiar issues w/ pmags. sometimes, does the rd start to feed, and the bolt close on to the side, smashing rd onto feed ramps? mine did, i found the swadged shoulder sometimes grabbing the forward edge of mag, sticking, then popping up. i removed the edge on each side of mag, by hand with dremel stone. seems to be ok now.

  • damn that guy loads fast......

  • lol you play golf at the range too

  • @Delta8559272 Did you notice the golf ball explode the water mellon in the previous video?

  • Hmm I never noticed that. I dont have one of those mags but I tried it with my magpul pmag's and they do the exact same thing. They chamber just fine though

  • I've never had this problem with my Sig 556, I'll buy all of them from you.

  • This was a no-brainer in my military training. Plastic doesn't perform like steel and they certainly don't compare. Plus, plastic wears faster. I DO like the option of seeing the rounds, but not at the chance of improper loading...yeah...in a gunfight, it's just not so cool with me, hahaha!

  • Bad design, they need to give you your money back! And fix the problem.

  • I'm sick of junk mags.

  • what kind of muzzle brake is that?

  • @trackerjaf Noveski( fire pig) for SBR's

  • this is why the ak is better.

  • @mcmelonmaster <------ Obvious troll is obvious!

  • @mcmelonmaster You can buy crappy mags for anything : )

  • You sure it doesn't say made in China in small print on the bottom?

  • That ammo is also not smooth brass case, it has that sticky looking lacquered cases.

  • That's pretty interesting. I had a similar problem once, though, but not an issue of feed lips, but rather some bad ammo. I want to say it was S&B, but it might have been IK, but it was undersized just enough that it wouldn't engage the feed lips right, and ended up doing that, double feeding, and outide of the rifle, just dumping all the rounds out the top.

  • I've been using the same GI 30 round mags since they were new in 1986 and they still are perfect. I don't like the fancy mags.

  • ill stick with my pmags. thanks for the tip on lancer

  • now I know to not get these mags

  • @edro20 He did....they don't work properly. Not even good enough for a range mag if you ask me much less life and liberty. The newer Lancer mags are supposed to be much better, but the problem is if you bought a bunch of these and are having issues with them, they are giving people the cold shoulder over it.

  • Well I've always been told and taught to never load a AR-15 Mag fully because it might cause that, any and all of my AR-15 mags never have more then 28 rounds in them. When you load 2 less rounds, it helps the bolt to move more easily and your less likely to have any jam or malfunction like that. Same thing goes for the 20 round mags from Vietnam, any Vietnam Vet I've ever talked to says they never loaded more then 18 because of that issue

  • @Chris090883 It's funny you say that, because I think I purposely loaded my mags to 28 in Iraq for that reason too. One thing to consider too is that the government buys their mags from the lowest bidder.

  • @Iraqveteran8888 Very true on the fact that the government likes to save a buck or two, I went out today with my neighbor, with his newly bought AR-15 and he loaded every mag he bought to 30, I loaded mine to 28, his first mag, 2nd mag, 3rd mag ran fine, but the 4th, 5th, and 6th, jam on the first round, I had him use some of my mags I loaded, he didn't have an issue, let him use my AR-15 too, took me 5-10 min each time to free it. Now he learned the hard way 2 less every time.

  • @Iraqveteran8888 Buddy of mine in the Marine Corp said they always kept 28 in their mags, so must be pretty standard through the armed services to do this.

  • @fjcaron I always load 30 in my over 20 years old GI mags and they work perfect never any stoppages.

  • @semiautoriflelover I think they are referring to the spring tension by always keeping them loaded right at 30.

  • @fjcaron What I always heard from AR15.com veterans was that the 20 rounders you want to just keep 18-19 in them but the 30 rounders are good to go with 30 for storage. Some times the drill Sgts have a carry over, it is a good idea to never over stuff them. I actually just load the 20s and 30s all the way up when at range. I've never had one jam ever with my mags that wasn't an ammo issue.

  • @semiautoriflelover As you know this debate can go on and on, when I was in the desert playing last year in AZ, those PMags I loaded right to 30 rounds, they performed flawlessly, I liked those quite a bit, wish we could have 30's in CA I would have a ton of those for myself ;-) Well not a ton, just a half ton, lol.

  • @fjcaron I wish I could get a pmag in NY, I would like to try them. I might order the 30 round one that is blocked to 10 rounds.

  • @Iraqveteran8888 That is not necessarily the case. While the .gov tries to get equipment at the lowest possible price, they also have to have the low price with the testing standards met.

  • @Chris090883 The major reason was so the guys didn't over fill those 20 round mags, you can load 30 up it doesn't cause any harm, check out some of my videos, I have some mags so old they have no finish on them and they run 100% perfect. I always load up 30 rounds.

  • @Chris090883 Interesting. During my tour in Iraq I had my mags fully loaded at 30... and my rifle jammed frequently

  • *unit

  • Had similar problems with the plastic,"90 rounder" drum for the AR. Junk junk junk junk junk. I bought 1 used at the gunshow, & it didn't work. Sent it back to the factory & they refurbished it. Same problem. Sent it back AGIAN, then they replaced the whole unity completely. Same result. I say stick with metal, this ain't Airsoft!

  • @gearboy12550 I've been very happy with Magpul mags.

  • @Iraqveteran8888 Same here ... MagPul 30-rounders just plain work.

  • @gearboy12550 the only decent polymer mags are the magpul and tapco all other are junk

  • wow thats strange, i have two lancer 5 mags...and i just did the same thing, and mine didnt go this....i'm try it a few more times and see if it malfunctions

  • @DaytonaRoadster Remember this is just 1 AR15 and it looks non milspec. who knows what kind of bolt it has. You would need to test this in more to be sure.

  • Upper? Vang Comp?

  • Emags all the way!
