Cynthia Ann Parker was just a little blond blue eyed girl when captured by the Comanches in a raid in which her parents were killed. She lived and grew up as a Comanche and married a young Comanche warrior and raised a son Quanah. When she was offered a chance to live with the white people after she and Quanah were captured she refused - she wanted to continue to live as she had been living as an Indian.

Gary, you are probably correct in all you say. I have, this week throguh DNA found I am a Parker Comanche. I can feel the pride of the Comanche, and the shame of the other side of things. In a way, I feel MORE shame on the White side of things.. but now I can cry with the Comanche, although in private. I don't consider myself Comanche, but I am so proud of being part of history. I understand Native feelings on this. It is New Age whites grabbing on to a nations pride, and taking some of it.
