  • Permit good people to be tricked into believing that G-D is in the form of a wafer. It is hard sometime to try to put a spin on these things.

  • @Tommy5297 What we believe is what Scripture has written....

  • As a Jew, i am shocked you permit such things.

  • @Tommy5297 permit what?

  • @Tommy5297 permit what?

  • God is offended by receiving Him on "dirty" hands(ONLY priest can touch Him) in the Holy Eucharist!

Only accepted by Heaven form of receiving living Heart of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist of the Catholic Church is into our mouth and on our both knees!

God bless you and be brave

  • Transubstantiation is a false doctrine because Jesus is not a liar: In Mt 26:29 after Jesus had said, "this is my blood" and prayed, he still referred to the contents as, "fruit of the vine". If transubstantiation of the juice into blood had occurred, as both Roman Catholic and Orthodox churches say it was at this time, then Jesus would never have referred to it as "fruit of the vine' but rather "blood".

  • @kiwichristian2009 In Mt 26:29, Jesus consoles the Apostles by indicating He will share an eschatological new table fellowship with them at the Banquet of the Kingdom; His words do not negate His very clear instruction that, here and now, "this is my Blood of the Covenant." In the Bread of Life discourse (Jn 6:22-71), He repeatedly instructs that the bread becomes His Flesh and the wine becomes His Blood. For this very reason, Paul cautions against unworthy reception (1 Cor 10:14-22; 11:17-34)

  • Malachi 1:10f

"Oh, that one would shut the temple gates to keep you from kindling fire on my altar in vain! I have no pleasure in you, neither will I accept sacrifice from your hands." Imperfect sacrifices displease God.

"For FROM THE RISING OF THE SUN, EVEN TO ITS SETTING, my name is great among nations; EVERYWHERE they bring SACRIFICE to my name, & A PURE OFFERING." Prophet anticipates a pure oblation to be offered throughout the world in messianic times: the universal Sacrifice of the Mass.

  • Though we neither could, nor would have dared, anticipate so wonderful a doctrine, yet we adore its very suitableness to Thy perfections, as well as its infinite compassion for us, now that we are told of it. Yes, my Lord, though Thou hast left the world, Thou art daily offered up in the Mass; though Thou canst not suffer pain and death, Thou dost still subject Thyself to indignity & restraint to carry out Thy mercies towards us. Thou dost humble Thyself daily. Thou remainest a Priest for ever.

  • Meditations & Devotions

    John Henry Newman

Holy Sacrifice of the Mass Such a Sacrifice was not to be forgotten. If that one great deed was what we believe it to be, what we know it is, it must remain present, though past; it must be a standing fact for all times. When we are told that Thou, O Lord, though Thou hast ascended to glory, hast renewed and perpetuated Thy Sacrifice to the end of all things, not only is the news most joyful, but it carries with it the full assent of our reason.

  • Hebrews....."So Christ was ONCE offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. . . ."

  • You can receive the most grace by receiving Holy Communion while kneeling and on the tounge.

  • Another great video, Steve. God must be very pleased with you!

This discussion reminds me of a video I saw of former Baptist minister turned Catholic Michael Cumbie.

To illustrate transubstantiation, he called a "saved" fellow to the stage. He confirmed w/ him that once the fellow became a Christian, he was a whole different being.

Yet if this new Christian's flesh, bones and blood were examined in a lab, there would be nothing whatsoever to prove the transformation he knew occured.

  • 182RG: What a great analogy! Very clear :)

  • 182RG, wonderful comment.

  • I've had this discussion with non-Catholics re: your question and they tell me 2 things: It is "symbolic" (WRONG) and that at mass "Catholics recrucify Christ: anew." (WRONG) It's a total lack of not knowing.

PLEASE tell me who sang the first part of the video BREAD OF LIFE COME DOWN FROM HEAVEN. He is very good.

  • Karl Kohlhase

  • Very nice first video... please tell me who is singing the song. I guess the name is Bread of Life Come Down From Heaven and I'd like to have the CD and hear more from this singer.

    Thank you!

  • The singer is Karl Kohlhase You can google his name to find his music.

  • Eucharist = Life

  • hiswife2002, thank you for all your great comments.I always enjoy hearing from you.

  • And I always enjoy your videos. I am so impressed by how clearly and directly and honestly and with inspiration you present the beautiful truth of Catholicism. God bless you, Steve :)

  • Eucharist is very foundation of my faith! The particles of Christs body are penetrated into my cells and further into atoms where could be seen Christ in kneeling position made of bread. In the small universe of my body the Christs great spiritual universe intercede. That is my vision that is sent by Him around Easter last year! God Bless!

  • "It will be shed for you and for ALL so that sins may be forgiven".

Should not be all only MANY.

    That "all" is masonic input.

    SteveSilvia brilliant videos.

  • Even as the New Testament was taking form, the Church Fathers were unanimous in the truth of the Real Presence. Jesus' words (Jn 6:54) are not understood as a denial of the necessity of Baptism or a condemnation to Hell to those who do not partake of the Eucharist. Christ is responding dramatically to those walking away by pointing out the life-giving power of Communion with His Real Presence. Talking with Nicodemus, He makes it clear that being "born again" is the ordinary way to salvation.

  • "He who does not eat my flesh and drink my blood has no life in him and will not be raised up on the last day" If these words are true, then anyone who doesn't eat the roman catholic eucharist will not be raised up and is going to hell, yet not even the RCC teaches this. So you can see how this is false. Furthermore it means that life isn't in the holy spirit, but in a cracker.

The bible says that anyone who has not been born-again can't enter the kingdom of heaven.

  • huh? who told u the Catholic Church doesn't teach that? Stop making up stuff.

Bcus we know that if we do not partake of the eucharist we won't have life in us, all we do is to be able to partake of the eucharist. To eat the flesh and blood of Christ.

  • Steve, please be sure and post the artists for these songs. What is this one? It is beautiful.

  • The singer and writer of this song is Karl Kohlhase, who you can google to find him.

  • I am reminded by this of the many times I have been asked what would I do if Jesus were to appear before me, I simply smile and say He does so often, any time I am at Mass or Adoration there He is. I simply kneel and let my soul speak to Him without words. Love the video. Pax et Bonum

  • On that day, the Day of His Coming, many will wail in deep regret because they declined His invitation to eat his flesh and drink his blood. Nothing else will matter then, but it will be too late.

  • The truth of Real Presence has always been taught by the Catholic Church. In 110 AD, St Ignatius of Antioch underwent martyrdom: "I desire the Bread of God, which is the Flesh of Christ. I am to be ground by the teeth of wild beasts, so that I may become the pure bread of Christ." In 155 AD, St Justin Martyr taught, "This bread is the flesh/blood of Jesus who died for our salvation." Jesus clothes Himself in the appearances of bread/wine to require faith, & avoid any semblance of cannibalism.

  • psalm118verse24, thanks, that was well said. The quotes you gave prove that the first Christians believed in the real Presence and understood it not to be a symbol.

  • the Jews are all horrified that Jesus is saying such an outrageous thing, Eat my body, drink my blood, Jesus doesnt correct them and say oh, no, I didnt mean ACTUALLY eat my flesh! Instead, he makes it worse and says, For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink.

  • It's about obedience to Jesus through His Church.

    OBEDIENCE is the key.

  • As a matter fact our Lord repeated "eating my Body" many times in the gospels. As if He knew there would be many people who wouldn't believe. And He said to them: With desire I have desired to eat this pasch with you, before I suffer. Luke22:15

One has to receive the Eucharist in the proper state to really understand its power, as one saint said. "one Eucharist can make you a saint". Walk into a church without the blessed sacrament and it is empty. I know from experience.

    φάγητε = "to eat"

τρώγων = "to crunch between the teeth"

Was Jesus speaking figuratively? No, the literal meaning is clear.

  • Yes, to eat and to crunch between the teeth. No one is doubting that they actually ate something. What is at issue here is what they ate, and in what form. Catholics hold that they took the body and blood of Christ in the form of his actual flesh and blood (an abhorrent notion for anyone of Semitic background), whereas Protestants hold that they took the body and blood of Christ in the form of bread and wine.

  • Gilmaris, if you are saying it's just a symbol, then you are wrong.

  • Gilmaris, if you are saying it is the actual Body of Christ, even though it looks like bread, then you are correct.

  • I am saying it is the body and blood of Christ, while being bread and wine. Is it a symbol? Yes, but to say that it is "just a symbol" is not sufficient in the context of theology. A forensic analysis would reveal nothing more than bread and wine, which is all they *physically* are. But they are imbued with the spirit of Christ, which makes it more than just bread and wine.

  • Here is the passage in John in the original Greek:

εἶπεν οὖν αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Ἀμὴν ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, ἐὰν μὴ φάγητε τὴν σάρκα τοῦ υἱοῦ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου καὶ πίητε αὐτοῦ τὸ αἷμα, οὐκ ἔχετε ζωὴν ἐν ἑαυτοῖς.

  • "Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Whosoever eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day." (John 6:53-54)

  • Why do you claim that the Protestants' rejection of the Catholic interpretation is because they "do not comprehend how God could perform so stupendous a miracle"? What makes you believe that Protestants think God incapable of such miracles? No: they simply view it metaphorically, and view the symbol as a greater miracle than turning bread to muscle and sinews.

  • Besides, the Vatican's position on this issue is no longer as adamant as it used to be. They now leave it to the discretion of each church whether they believe in transubstantiation or not.

  • You are mistaken, Gilmaris. The real presence of Christ in the Eucharist is a cornerstone of our faith.

  • That's the trouble with taking the literal view. I can understand you believing in transubstantiation, but to make it a cornerstone? Isn't that missing what the eucharist is really about? "Do this in memory of me". If you are focusing on muscle and sinews, you are overlooking the bigger picture, in my opinion. And why does the real presence of Christ depend on transubstantiation?

  • Gilmaris you are wrong. the Church has not changed it's views. Your refusal to believe is not the greater miracle. That is what you are doing, replacing your unbelief with an interpretation you can live with, and that is not a miracle.

  • The turning of bread into flesh is not what the eucharist is about. If that was so, Jesus would have said so. No: Jesus said to do it in memory of HIM - not in memory of his physical flesh, which was just flesh. Focusing on his mortal remains is, to use the old expression, like a finger pointing to the moon, and you are only looking at the finger. The blood and body of Christ transcends mere flesh, which must perish.

  • Furthermore, why is there no mention of the bread actually turning into flesh, or the wine to blood? All we have is, "this is my body", "this is my blood". And not a mention of anyone being the least bit surprised or disgusted. Jesus did not say, "this will turn into my body as soon as you put it in your mouths", he said "this is my body" when it was still obviously bread. The symbolism is rather obvious. You wouldn't say Jesus actually IS a lamb when he is called "the lamb of God", either.

  • By consecration, the substance of the bread/wine cease to exist, and there remains only the substance of the living Christ. This concept is the linchpin of the theology of transubstantiation. St. Thomas Aquinas explains that the body of Christ is not produced out of the bread; the body existed before the bread. The bread is changed into what existed before by a unique and miraculous change which results in the body of Christ being where the substance of the bread once was.

  • Are you just wilfully blind? In John 6:51 Jews tell his followers he is the living bread. John 6:52 tells us the Jews were scandalized by what they heard but Jesus makes no attempt to sanitize his previous words. In John 6:53 he reiterates his teaching on the Eucharist; and in John 6:54 he delcares that those who believe and partake will have eternal life. In John 6:60 most of his disciples are scandalized by this but, AGAIN, Jesus makes no attempt to change his doctrine.

  • Something my father-in-law, a Berliner, used to say to people like you:

    "Schlag einer zuckertüte Ihre arschloch"

  • I love it. thank you.

  • Thanks for this beautiful video it is wonderful for the coming weeks Gospel readings

  • Thanks for uploading. :)

  • John 6.66 and they walked away.

Hebrews 10-29 You may be sure that anyone who tramples on the Son of God, and who treats the blood of the covenant which Sanctified him as if it were not HOLY and who insults the Spirit of Grace will be condemed to a far severer Punishment.

God has blinded them because they refuse to listen to the truth, which is a person, Christ is the truth, they refuse Christ when they refuse truth, this is why they are blind.

Let us pray for the world.

  • The Eucharist is everything to me! Without Jesus in the Eucharist, I would surely die. :(

I need the Eucharist to live. Jesus told us if we do not eat His Flesh we will not have life in us.

Thank you steve for a wonderful video.

    God bless you.

    Peace & Love in Christ.

    Sandy

  • I live in a state of constant appreciation that Jesus became so small for me, and I desire to live my life in response to this extreme Act of Love....Thanksgiving.......that is Eucharist....

  • in order for us to TRULY receive christ in communion we must first go to confession. for when we commit mortal sin our souls are dead, without the holy ghost ( dead bodies cant eat) so in order for us to be reborn in communion, we must first be cleansed through confession

  • I truly adore christ in the blessed sacrament! to look at my beloved creator sacrificed every day at mass just so we can share in his glory one day fills my heart with soothing joy, nothing else matters!

  • Thank you, i am an active member of the Confraternity of The Blessed Sacrament, and i love attending at Solemn Evensong and Benediction also to make reparation for the misdeeds committed against Jesus by unsaved and lost men, let us always pray for their conversion to the Catholic faith

  • From my experience, the Baptists are beautiful God fearing people. I only wish they could experience what it is like to be Catholic and receive the body of Christ. I wish we could make them understand what we have. Steve, you are taking steps to help that cause. Thanks.....

  • I am an Anglo-Catholic and the Real-Presence of Jesus in the Most Holy Sacrament of The Altar is such a comfort and nescessity for me, i could not live without his Holy Body

  • I have left the Baptists for THE church. I had to fill a broad and deepening hole in my entiretly which was created by my distrust of the Baptist church I attended, and my non-receiving of Communion.

With my first communion,, I felt whole again

No magic, just God and Christ and Holy Spirit in me again.

    Hallelujah!

    Tom in Utica NY

  • Thanks Tom, I think you said what we all feel. Thanks for speaking up.

  • Wow telsport, WELCOME HOME!!

I'm so glad God gave you the gift of faith! Indeed you have finally seen the true gift of the Catholic faith.

God bless you. You're in my prayers.

    Peace & Love in Christ.

    Sandy

  • TrainmasterCurt, I agree, I think this is something non-Catholics need to experience.

  • At a good friday service.i listened intently to the sermon on body of blood of Jesus.Jesus said it was why do we take most things literally from the word and not this one?

oh by the way.i was in a wheelchair-After i worshiped, cried to God and received the body and blood,I was healed completely .i am still walking today.Call it Eucharist in the Catholic church call it communion table in the Protestant, we have just got to realize there is healing and forgiveness when they receive in faith.Mama

  • Mama, how nice to hear from you! I know I don't talk much, but I enjoy the "light" and joy for life that comes from you in your videos. You inspire me with your happiness and music. Love you!

  • Steve, this is truely one of your best videos yet I feel very blessed and revived of my faith when I watch these videos. You are doing an outstanding job, the Holy Spirit truely moves within you. May God bless and keep you..Cat

  • The eucharist allows us to be full and complete within Jesus's mercy.

  • it means everything to me , I just wish the Church would not make up rules who can recieve the Eucharist , seems like they make up Traditions .Why would they keep JESUS away from those who want it ?

  • they do this so that the sacrament is not desecrated..some people have pocketed the Eucharist at the vatican not knowing or realizing that it is truely the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of our LOrd Jesus Christ..we as Catholics do not want our Lord mocked yet again as in His passion...If they want it then they would take classes to understand...if you recieve the Eucharist in mortal sin you could do more damage to yourself than u realize..so we are protecting them ..God bless u

  • Are you talking bout those who are out of God's grace in mortal sin or those who are not of the Catholic faith. Im not a scholar or anything but to receive Christ you want to be completely devoted to Him. When in mortal sin it is hard to truly truly accept Christ with all your heart on your tongue, eventually whether you receive Him by hand or straight, when impurities reside on the soul. Just think How precious He is to you. Isnt He worth a great welcoming with a purity of conscious and heart?

  • The perfect Sacrifice

  • lamb of GOD!!!!

  • Thank you so very much !
