@RussianThickness1 i used to hope that, until i saw how incredible he is at playing an electric and the sound he gets out of them. plus he has the two sweetest electrics you can basically buy haha
i love audiences getting involved but when they do they better sure as shit know the words and be able to clap on beat (and only if the song allows it...which is debatable here) awesome video anyway
In spite of all the bickering about the crowd, this video is awesome. One hell of a Cash cover. Matsson brings something unique to this song. I love his style. I think the Man in Black would approve.
Evidently you have never played music to a live crowd. Cheering and applauding is fuel for musicians. If no one is supporting you it makes you feel like you're doing something wrong. This is also the reason he has done live recordings with invited audiences, that know only to applaud at the end of each song, so that the song is much more clear and he can use that recording as a means of advertisement. However it would be illegal for him to use a cover to promote or publicize himself.
I've played hundreds of live shows. You can actually go to my profile and watch videos of me playing live. You'll notice the crowd isn't acting like they're at a Jonas Brothers concert. It's respect for the song, and the musician. Screaming and whistling is annoying. I'm sorry you don't share the same sentiments. But that's what makes the world a beautiful place: difference.
Dude I watched your videos and you are only playing for like 10 people max at what you can hardly call a venue. I will say that you do play good music nonetheless and if you can get the same feeling from that as you could from an excited, uplifting audience then more power to you man. All I'm saying is that he is a professional musician and does this for a living. I'm sure he's used to it and if he couldn't stand it he would probably not be where he is today.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
How is that not a venue? haha. You can play for a thousand people or for 10 people and it'll still be the same. It's music. And "Professional Musician" means absolutely nothing. I never said he couldn't stand it. I never said he disliked it. But personally I don't like it. I don't mind a little chatter, and the sound of bottles clanking in the background. It adds ambiance. But when people act like 12 yr old girls at a jonas brothers concert...it's ridiculous. That's my opinion.
You're a moron. The people are just having a good time. Clearly they respect the song and musician a lot because they're excited. So they clap and cheer. No matter what concert you go to, people will act the same. Maybe you should watch some videos of Dave Matthew's concerts or Simon & Garfunkel's reunion show. People are clapping, dancing, cheering just as loud if not louder than those girls at a JoBro's concert. I suggest that if you want to make it as a performing musician, you get used to it
haha Dave Matthew's?! wtf. Go watch Johnny Cash performing this song AT Folsom Prison. They cheer and get rowdy, but at no point ruin the presence of the song. You obviously know nothing of show experience, the crowd/musician relationship, and the international barrier that Sweden can't seem to understand when listening to American music. But some fuck on youtube isn't going to get it. Congrats.
Once again, you show your stupidity. I've already seen Johnny Cash perform it. How is this any different? Just because the crowd is Swedish doesn't give them the right to get excited about an american "classic"? So they should sit and be solemn because they won't have the same respect for the song that an American can have? If you knew anything, you'd know that The Tallest Man IS Swedish. Suprising how his lyrics are more poetic than any American artist I've heard in the last decade.
Of course I know he's Swedish. My Grandfather came here from Sweden. All you do is patronize and call names. I'm not gonna argue with some nobody over youtube. The crowd was ridiculous and that's all there is to it. Maybe experience will show you this some day. Good day, sir.
@RyanfromtheShire God forbid the crowd at a live show sings a lot with a Johnny Cash song. I really don't think you have the slightest clue what you're talking about, wether you play for ten people or ten thousand, most performers love it when the audience interacts and becomes a part of the show.
Not to mention the fact that you're making this judgement based on a recording from what I would guess is cellphone or a handheld camera. You have no idea what it actually sounded like being there. Silly arguement for a silly person.
I play music. I play shows. I respect that my fans want to have a good time. They pay me to entertain them. Boring crowds are boring. Maybe that's just me. If someone wants to sing along, then they should sing as loud as they can. Loosen up. Audiences liking the music enough to show their appreciation is a flattering thing. Why would anyone want to play a live show where the crowd didn't respond?
dear god,
make someone tab and post this on the good ol internet
many thanks

Love how the crowd finally recognizes the song when he starts to sing. He did it in his own style, which couldn't be a greater tribute to JC.
