Yeah, the recent Transformers movie animations are such extreme tragedies. I don't know who can actually get enjoyment from watching that pile of shit. After seeing the first one, I couldn't bring myself to watch any of the sequels. Just so horribly done.
Robo Warriors = the closest we'll get to a live action American made gundam (plot seems to fall into place, teen with some kinda techno skills finds a robot and fights an oppresive regime with their own robots)
Yup, the bots in Transformers ARE TOO flexible and ghetto. Micheal Bay shame on you! Shame on you! Can't hate he made a billion dollars. But please quit since you are ahead.
them finding the robot in the woods and rebuilding it makes me think of Gundam 0080 War in the Pocket because on their the older dudes Zaku is shot down and hidden in the woods and him and his little kid friend rebuild it so they can go and destroy the Gundam
robot wars wasn't a game show! did you ever see prizes or money being won? no it was a show for aldults, to build robots then watch the them get trashed, it lasted very long 9 serises i think but by the 8th season ppl where bored and the BBC got rid of it, channel 5 took it and really fucked it, with the BBC you never had ads, on 5 you did, so what do they do? show what's going to happen after the ads, *facedesk* the seasons from 1 to 7 are about the onmly good ones, they also made a magazine
This may not be relevant, but I remember growing up with something called Zoids - it featured awesome robot animals that could be piloted via cockpit/controls, and duked it out in battle a whole lot. The scorpion-robot from Robot Wars immediately reminded me of one of the Zoid species. Zoids was first created as a model kit line in the 80s, and more recently became multiple seasons of TV shows (that are no longer airing in America - heck, even the model kits aren't sold in stores here anymore.)
Someone tell me if you remember this. I remember a trailer on one of the VHS tapes for what looked like an awesome movie. I could NEVER find it. Low and behold in 1997 it came out. It was STARSHIP TROOPERS. I was like daaam that took a long time for the movie to come out??? I do remember watching the trailer before a robot movie & it was the scene when all the 'bugs' were coming to swarm the outpost. I could never find that tape again with that starship trooper trailer. I still think I was nuts
Michael Bay's Transformers sucked horribly. The whole fluid jerky camera thing was incredibly lame, and I agree, not robotic at all. I sometimes hate CGI because of their misuse of it, and really miss the days of animatronics, masks and puppets.
To make a little argument on your statement of "The Transformers are too swift and too flexible", the Transformers are alien robots. And that's what I love, want and expect in Transformers, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Transformers: Dark of the Moon; fast-paced, high-octane, insane, explosive, mind-blowing action! Now, I haven't seen any bit of the G1 cartoon, but weren't the robots in the cartoon swift and flexible as well? A little food for thought.
How about Robot Jox and Crash & Burn. Those two remind me of Sci-Fi, during it's 90's heyday along with Death Machine, Evolver and some other killer robot ones.
Oh man, I remember watching "Robot Wars" in the 90s. I took it out of the video store. I remember there was only one great robot left and then they find the second one in the nick of time to fight the other one.
The Robot Wars show reference stole the show on this one, that was such a badass show, they need to bring it back. I don't know ANYONE who didn't like either that or Battlebots.
Sweet! I actually worked on a bit of Robo Warriors. Cheese yeah, but nice to hear the name again. Think it's the first time I've actually heard someone else mention it... ever! ;)
I would rather have the Zoids Anime series for my giant Robot fix.
At least Zoids has got a really interesting storyline although it is a 52 episode series known as the Chaotic Centuary. The New Centuary has a completely different storyline in the Zoids anime storyline.
But if I had to chose between watching an anime I like, compared to watching movies that are only got a few good robot scenes and most of it bad acting and poorly put together story, I would know what I would want to watch.
Most robots in real life today do not move jerky, they move pretty swiftly, especially ones in car factories. Animatronics such as Disney's are also incredibly swift and show no jerk at all. So something swift and smooth would actually probably end up being more realistic. The robots in iRobot are a good example. Unless the people who make the movie want them to purposely be jerky, a swift machine is more fitting, but opinion plays into how it's received anyway.
Please check out the Trailer for "Weekend at the Cabin" and Purchase your own copy or rent it today. Help support your Indie Artist. Tell a friend. Have a great day.
comparing it to transformers is a bit unrealistic, their a race of robots who fought in wars and speak like humans, and it was based off a cartoon, the robots are suppose to move unrealistically not like at 5 miles per hour
You didnt even show or mention that the second movie robo warriors starred the actor i like named James Remar. He played Ajax in The Warriors, Raiden in mk2, and Harrey in Dexter. And much more. Not an A lister but i think hes a pretty good actor. I think that there are alot of nerds out there who like the The Warriors so i think mentioning him would have been a good idea.
stop balming people who can't spell properly. English isn't everyone's native tounge. Also you don't know if he has a spelling disorder or something. Stop hatin, watch the youtube video.
That "Robo Warriors" movie looks sweet, will have to check it out. And nice shout out to Robot Jox, which kicks butt. All better than the right-wing pro-military crap called "Transformers" that has nothing to do with actual Transformers, it's just a movie about the military featuring robots meant to sell toys and war to kids.
I want james to review this crappy movie called and i'm not kidding. Killer clowns from outer space. They kill us with cotton candy guns and popcorn launchers. What ever they where smoking i want a hit! XD
@Retrogamer712 he already knows of the movie and hopefully will review it some time soon he mentioned it i believe either in the 2007 monster madness or the 2009 monster madness i am pretty sure though it was 09 .
@NoGripRacingGTR2 yes but if you going to call it monster madness have horror, not sci-fi, that's like i made a show called JUNGLES OF THE EARTH and it's only about machines. IT MAKES NO SENSE
Holy crap, Robotjox, I remember a bit if the trailer, "I'm gonna kick! Your! (Trailer clip ends)" like the 90s version of "This! Is! Sparta!" As a kid, I remember being impressed at how Hollywood released a movie that was everything I could ask for.
listen i am not doing this for thumbs up but for an actual reason . please thumbs this up so people will understand this ! this is last years monster madness ''camp cult'' it doesnt have to be a horror film in order for it to be a film with a cult status . meaning a film with large group watchers or films that are more unknown . i hope that clearifys things .
I liked robot wars when I first saw it. I also liked robot jox. I am a lot older now though, but I think I would still get some entertainment out of them.

i dont get his comparison tho, transformers isnt suppose to be realistic in the 1st place, infact the transformers basically should be moving like that or else it wouldnt be the transformers
I know what James means when he says robots aren't "robotic" anymore like they used to be. But in Transformers' defense, they're supposed to be "Mechanical Organisms", not necessarily robots. Creators these days are always looking for a game changer, to be on the cutting edge. But in doing so, we've lost a lot of the spirit that made entertainment what is is today. The idea of the robot really depends on the opinions of the viewer, for example, I think Justin Bieber is a robot, you may not.
@halfpintgamescast Yeah, he may be good on Top Gear, but not that good on Robot Wars. He didn't seem to show much of an understanding to the sport of robotic combat. Anyway, you can find uploads of all the episodes from Series 1 to Extreme 2 on BBCRobotwarsUK. Series 7 isn't on that channel because it was broadcast on Five.
Fuck you in the brain bullshit!

I can't imagine there are that many good scenes involving robots considering James had to reuse the same scenes multiple times for this review.

@halfpintgamescast Yes, he is. Ya' know that Jeremy Clarkson hosted the first series.
spongebot64 4 months ago
@spongebot64 Really? I didn't know that Jeremy Clarkson hosted Robot Wars! I love watching top gear.
halfpintgamescast 4 months ago
@halfpintgamescast Yeah, he may be good on Top Gear, but not that good on Robot Wars. He didn't seem to show much of an understanding to the sport of robotic combat. Anyway, you can find uploads of all the episodes from Series 1 to Extreme 2 on BBCRobotwarsUK. Series 7 isn't on that channel because it was broadcast on Five.
