  • timing belt advice for 86 civic 1.5 ... anyone?

  • Drop this bitch into an Ariel Atom. Fuck a Honda.

  • evidently some people can't take a little joke

  • Those drivers are totally insane.! lucky bastards.!

  • honda has the f1 game on lock down!

  • @mugentech87 they don't have a team anymore..

  • That awkward moment when you think of how hard that vtec kicks haha

  • learn something about my invention on diesel motors 2 strokes by valves without springs

  • New innovation on diesel motors 2 strokes by valves only, check it can learn something.rgds.

  • I love that engine sound!

  • i dont understand how it can stay togather or not melt lol

  • 1:10 TURBO ??? ANTILAG SYSTEM?

  • 300 TIMES A SECOND!!!!!!!!! Holy sh@t!!!!!!!!!

  • I don't believe it...they actually built an F1 engine that didn't self distruct as soon as it turned over...

  • 18k RPM...i thought 9k on an F20C was impressive this is twice as impressive. i thought those speeds were only achievable on motorcycle engines.

  • @wrp247 generally a short stroke engine will rev pretty high in any format

  • @mageac also i noticed that they aren't using turbos to produce those 800hp. I don't know what that thing is on the intake ports...i'm thinking itbs or possibly a supercharger?

  • @wrp247 they have itbs, but superchargers are banned, at the time they had to be a 2.4, v8 n/a,

for the 800hp part, you would have a hard time finding any 2+ liter engine at 18k rpm that had less then 800 hp... basically if you can make it spin that fast it will make power, the trick would be to make it reliable

  • @mageac You'd have a hard time finding any 2 litre engine capable of 18K RPM full stop.

  • @agt155 current f1 engines are 2.4 liter... a 2.0 liter at 18k isnt that different

a normal joe cant do it no, and an engine tuned to peak at 18k would wear out quite badly

  • @mageac You can't just take a 2.0l production engine and tune it to rev to 18K. The whole architecture of the engine is simply wrong.

  • @agt155 i didnt say a production engine...

  • @wrp247

This F1 engine is a V10 (as in, 6 more cylinders than the typical Civic), 3.5 litres making 650hp in race mode. It didn't had VTEC, because that simple cam profile technology is just to cheat EPA city fuel economy ratings along with unusable peaky horsepower figures)

Want street power with little displacement? Use a non-Honda turbo engine and tune it.

Don't like like turbos? Stick with massive ITBs / race cams with lousy MPG, idle and deafening noise. There's no free lunch.

  • 3.0l v10

  • turbo it

  • honda f1 engine + honda odyssey = one badass soccer milf

  • honda f1 engine + honda odyssey = one badass soccer mom

  • i'm surprise that this motor doesn't come with it's own moon.

  • Mclaren-Honda 2014

    Make it happen

  • @numin0us what kind of car do you drive, dumb-dumb?

  • Comment removed

  • @ericambrosecoon I have an 86 civic, and an Audi A6 as daily drivers. I also have a 74 celica project. I like my civic just fine for what it is... an economy car (38mpg city), but I'm not going to pour thousands of dollars into it to try to make it a racecar. If your going to pony up for a motor like this, drop it in a NXS! ...dumb-dumb.

  • @numin0us or a s2k

  • @numin0us you mean a nsx, ...dumb-dumb.

  • @GaggleofVirgins thanks for reminding me that i have a medical condition called dysleksawhatever, and for calling me stupid. you should look up the comment that I responded to instead of trying to look cool in front of your freinds by nit-picking the placement of two letters without regard to the rest of the text.

  • @numin0us effort post.

  • @numin0us NSX?... pleas just keep them stock! damn kids...

  • @numin0us could u point me in the right direction.

  • @numin0us to: dumb kid and everyone who liked above comment

must be 12 years old to think real cars come with this

    ...thank you

  • @reyes0917 I guess this is what I get for commenting about a Honda.

  • @numin0us not really. its what you get for making such uneducated comments. civcs are great cars. not the fastest. but still damn good cars. they dont sell cause they suck.

yes i do drive a civic. 92 hatchback to be specific. yes its retardedly dumped. but i know its not a fast car nor do i rev it like an attention whore. its a fun reliable daily driver. if anything. blame the owners not the makers.

  • @numin0us whats a real car? cause apparently a civic is a real car.

  • @petervsays I think it's pretty funny that I can make little jokes about chevy, porsche, dodge... anything. But as soon as i say anything about a civic... (heavy southern accent) "Hay, dems fightin wards"

  • @numin0us what fighting words? im just stating some obvious facts. So if the honda civic isnt a real car then what is it? I think its pretty funny when people don't appreciate cars from foreign countries. If people wanted this engine in their civics then let it be. No one can say what you can and can't do YOUR car. Cause at the end of day, you're the one who will be driving it. Just fyi, to clear things up, I'm looking to do a 240z procharged LS1 for a Californian steet legal car. I love cars.

  • @petervsays I don't disagree with what you're saying, but I think there's some confusion about my perspective on this... I drive an 86 civic. I aslo have an Audi, and a 1st gen Celica project. Yes a civic is a "real" car in the sense that you don't have to wind it up, but if you want to build a project you can find a much better platform. I just think it's silly to drop a $50,000+ motor (that doesn't even run on pump gas) into a $5,000 FWD car. Everybody has a civic, do something different.

  • @numin0us True, everyone does have a civic especially here in California and only a hand full of them are actual tuners knows whats best about honda, running their civics 10seconds and under. Those are the people who knows the power to weight ratio. Not everyday you see a J32 swap civic or if possible a civic with the honda f1 race engine. Its unique. but either way, its whatever. If you build a car and not race it, then there i have a problem. Btw, i like the first gen Celica and corolla too =D

  • @petervsays Thanks... I used to have a 70 corolla sprinter too... I wish I still had it. (It died a horrible death)

  • @numin0us wish i had the time and money for those cars, especially since those cars are hard to come by in California. But im joining the Army, money wont be an issue, just time.

  • @petervsays

That's if you can steer away from IED's.

  • @whatazhar thats funny cause i signed up to be a EOD specialist.

  • @petervsays

IED i said, what's a EOD?are you sure you know what you are doing.

  • @whatazhar explosive ordnance disposal. And yes i know what im doing, This isnt 2001.

  • @numin0us Sure just give me the money first. :P

  • @aieljose do you think this motor is cheap?

  • @numin0us Am I aloud to want to put that in my S2000? hehehhe

  • @sk8erdudejustin93 that would be badass :)

  • @numin0us i own a crx, which is in the same family as the civic. it would take a lot of modifying to make this work in all hondas. not to mention my car is real, i don't need to buy another car when mine works just fine.

  • must be vtec

  • i want that engine in my ek sedan lol

  • I which I could put it in a Honda civic

  • Comment removed

  • V10

  • Didn´t know Honda was making v8´s :)

  • @TheRealFobican what a fuckwit, u can tell by it having 10 exhaust headers that its a v10

  • why so many dislikes?

  • @tommiedatrip

They are ones in disbelief thinkig its a fake.

They get an over load message saying "Honda making power!!? An engine larger than a V6, even larger than a V8? This must be untrue!??!".

    Wrong.

Believe it folks its a Honda.

Honda knows how to make large powerful engines. They have been doing so for decades (just not for production vehicles).

Psssst... by the way Honda knows all about turbo charging Engines too. ; )

  • @crxdelsolsir yup. Honda's been fucking GTR's in the ass for years with the NSX-GT, and most recently the HSV which is powered by a fuckin V8. honda knows what they're doing with their cars, its just that everyone in the US gets low end of the spectrum.

  • Does This Vtec also? xD

  • could you fit this in a 2001 civic si ?

  • @paintballkid133 anything will fit anywhere with a plasma cutter and a welder!..bahaha

  • The pistons moving up and down "300 times a second" is incorrect. Whoever narrated this clip should get rickrolled. The correct specs are 30 revolutions per cylinder each second. 30 revs a second is still mind boggling.

  • @Jayeeyee @Jayeeyee the narrator is right. what school did u go to?

    @ 6000 rpm = 100 revolution per sec. x 60 sec. (=1 minute) @18000 rpm =300 x60 sec

  • @kimura2Loc

Watch the video again and listen to what the narrator says. "That means the piston in each cylinder is moving up and down 300 times a second" is what he claims. At 18,000rpm the crankshaft is moving the pistons up and down 300 times a second, meaning all 10 pistons add up to 300 revolutions per second. NOT each piston. Did you ever attend english class?

  • @Jayeeyee ok let me give you an easy example an in-line4 4 stroke engine (civic). each revolution only 1 piston fire (1 on compression stroke, 1 intake stroke, 1 combustion and 1 exhaust stroke) each revolution all 4 piston make a full up and down motion. let me give you the site so u can see it for your self. /watch?v=MBkqOXaJXco

my English grade in high school was not that good. but in math and science i get straight A from the beginning

  • Comment removed

  • @kimura2Loc I'm tired of going back and forth with you. Yes, I agree your English was bad in highschool and still is - apparently. Watch the video and listen to what the narrator says CAREFULLY. He made a mistake stating "That means the piston in *EACH* cylinder is moving up and down 300 times a second." Key word here is 'EACH'. If he said "..piston in ALL ten cylinder is moving up and down 300 times a second" then we wouldn't be having this conversation. I hope this is the end of it all.

  • @Jayeeyee did you see the site i showed you

1 revolution the piston move up and down once and with 4 cylinder ALL 4 cylinder move up and down once.

it does matter if you have 10 or 12 cylinder each cylinder move up and down once when the crank shaft makes a full 360 degree turn

here is one for V-10 /watch?v=ofFSN2aD3Fk&feature=BFa&list=ULzAG6e0O9qoM&lf=mfu_in_order

watch as each piston go up and down on the crankshaft (hold space bar for slow motion)

  • @Jayeeyee better yet go to your local mechanic and ask him @18 000 rpm how many times does Each piston move up and down per sec.

and here's the site for the forum .8thcivic.com/forums/garage/169526-rpm-definition-question.html

  • It's funny how all Honda owner swear by their I4. Less is more, "VTEC YO!" And all this other shit, yet the fastest honda motor is a V10 haha

  • fuck a K swap...i want this one better lol

  • this is the champion of 1989..music for my ears..

  • quick, put your penis on it while its still hot !

  • The power of dreams.

  • i need one of this for my civic :)

  • if this motor swap in a lil civic. it smoke any car on the street including a gayron. if its possible.

  • why would people dislike this? yeah I don't like 18k revs lol.

  • up and down 300 times a second aye?

  • the piston goes up and down 300 times per second....at 13000 rmp....amazing

  • DOHC non-VTEC? slooowww

  • when the fuck did someone go- lets put some metal here, some gas there.........BAM! engine?

  • Ohh i have GOT to get one of these in my 2000 civic

  • GO-CART---YAH!!!!

  • to all those comparing this engine to v8 engines, just remember that after honda bowed out of f1 racing, mclaren went with a v8 engine supplied by ford, which was one of the reasons why Ayrton Senna moved to Williams. so much for all that torque and hp you muscle meatheads brag about. don't be absurd, and give credit where credit is deserved.

  • Comment removed

  • This engine should have been standard in the S2000.

  • @mikeb1444 better yet, the NSX

  • @YiMMA2k5

Well said. You know, you could put wheels on the front, and then sit on top of the transaxle, holding a throttle switch.

  • @mikeb1444 I could just imagine, The NSX was already a ferrari 348 355 beater. Not to mention, NSX forced alot of car companies to step up there game because, for the price you couldn't argue with a car like the NSX. Such quality and passion devoted into these F1 engines. Its ashame when people actually have a team of devoted engineers promise does show. Too bad honda's today are nothing like those hard 80's n 90's days.

  • @YiMMA2k5

    Time will tell.

  • simply amazing

  • Vtech? Haha.

  • nice nice xD

  • Each piston goes up and down 300 hundred times a second!? 0_o

  • droppin this in a ef sedan, sleeper status.

  • Honda still holds the WR for most powerful F1 engine set in the Turbo era.

Now that Turbo V6s are coming back, they should just re entere and just update the materials.

  • @nagasako7

Sorry. Not turbo V6s, but 1.6 liter turbo inline 4s. Everyone will essentially be driving an Arrows Megatron in 2013...

  • @Treetop64

its turbo v6s you didnt hear ?

  • his valves are ganna start floating!!

  • @warez1911 .....they literally float dude....F1 engines have pneumatic activated valves....no valve springs!...clever eh

  • Comment removed

  • thats an sweet honda motor xD

  • id like to hear one of those in a world of outlaw sprint car

  • Wow this is embarrassing the top two comments are two ricers who would love to "swap dis into der civics" JDM as fuck yo! my engine redline is 18k rpm Son! then we wonder why honda guys have such a bad rep. *walks out and burns his s2k*

  • @AngelFireXI I don't thing they realize how impractical a F1 racing engine would be for any street car. They costs in the area of 500,000 bucks, have no low speed torque for the street therefor must be wound up everywhere they go, requires a professional to maintain, and would probably have to be rebuilt ever month to be safe depending on how much it's used.

    But let them dream. :)

  • @AngelFireXI

    NO DON'T BURN THE S2000!!!

Burn a Civic, CR-Z, or any other Honda, but please, leave their ONLY GOOD road car alone!

  • Comment removed

  • and they thought we were ricers ;)

  • engine sounds like my girlfriend, whens she's pissed off!!

  • @xrayracer1 yours too?

  • All i hear is fucking static -_-

  • @Gmez1407 LMAO

  • wow its so smooth and balanced, it doesn't even look like shakes or anything at such hig rpms :o

  • tis 1 v10 lah

  • nsx + honda f1 engine??? im keen

  • hell I'd put that Honda motor in my Ford F150, lol

  • the shop i work at put one of these in a crx. fuck with D.M.S.

  • @kylelab333221 how much did the shop charge? any idea how much the motor was? what mods had to be done?

any info you can give me on this at all would be wonderful i mean ANY info at all

  • I'd rather put this in an NSX.

  • notice the o2 censor in the header! how the hell is it not melted? and why do you need that anyway on a f1 engine?

  • @taylorcharlie36 O2 sensor is what tell the computer how rich or lean the fuel is running. I don't think that is stock O2 like we have in our car.

  • I just saw a vid of a 6cyl. sterling engine that does 25,000+ RPM and it runs on compressed air. XD

  • 447 disliked this because they could not win over the legen-dary japanese.

  • so i hear honda make flying cars?

  • lol, @WestSideThuggN have fun rebuilding it..

  • honda is so damn good at making engines

  • CAN I BUY THIS MOTOR I WANT TO PUT IT ON MY S2000

  • @osklda you have it, but honda puts bananas in the exhaust so you wont kill yourself behind the wheel

  • Why can't they use the unburnt fuel & put it back into the intake?

  • @madjimms it would all come down to a large number of factors, but one of them would be that the hot air from the exhaust is far less dense then the cold air going in, colder air produces more power has there is more oxygen in the same volume. Not to mention you would gain no power advantage even if you ignored the heat issue, you'd just save on petrol, and I doubt thats high concern for F1 :)

  • @madjimms How would you recommend harvesting the fuel? Many street cars use EGR to lower emissions but in F1 the amount of unburned fuel leaving the exhaust is small enough that it isn't worth it.

  • @brw147 Well, they could use heat from the engine to distil the exhaust gasses into a liquid. (the gas vapor that is)

  • honda can make a good engine? who new

    hahahaha just trickin

  • If you think this is good, go see audi's F1 car ;D

  • imagine me shouting "300 TIMES A SECOND!" like the Doc from Back to the Future yelling "1.21 Gigawatts!"

  • cool.whats up with the 447 dislikes this is a cool video.

  • @blizzardxc1 They are just HONDA HATERS!

  • it's nice, but will it blend?

  • pause...

    press buttons:

    5 and 6.

  • @AceProdACTION hahahah

    5: OFF

    6: ON

  • How much do you wanna bet that that engine blew shortly after that test? Not a single engine failure in IndyCar competition, yet they blew up on an almost weekly basis at one point in F1, sometimes before the race even bagan.

  • honda is the best!!!

  • i found my new swap for my civic :P

  • @lokinhosk7 That would be just silly. I wouldn't want it personally cause the highway patrol would know you're coming from about 2 miles away... Though it would be pretty fun crusing down the freeway in 2nd gear doing 80mph and pulling 19k rpm :P

  • @op3l dude i kno it would be silly, but u think id give a fuck if 2 miles down the road they heard me comin? they cops wouldn't even see me passin by hahahah

  • @lokinhosk7 you might need a new engine every week then

  • @Daschickenify why would that be?

  • @lokinhosk7 Because that's what racing engines are like, they have very thin pistons, rev very high, and need a lot of maintenance. They need to be rebuilt or replaced often.

  • @lokinhosk7 fuck your honda civic.ive a horse outside

  • @stephen88hox I hope he's fucking you very well

  • 445 was behind the engine^^

  • 18K RPM?

    is that wat he said?

omg this will smoke a freakin bike and i think any bike.

goddddddd that thing would be awesome to swap into any honda cars.

    freakin bumblebee.

    eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!

  • I want that in my 98 Si Honda civic :P the f1 sound is pretty well your vtec crossover :P

  • 300 times per second, thats insane. You gotta respect the level of Engineering it takes to produce something like this. They call it Hyper over square is when the bore dia. is twice the size of the stroke. Thats why it can rev so freakin high!

  • @designer1240

Not only because of that, valve train contains pneumatic valve springs, that's the reason why they can pass magical 12,500 rpm than conventional engine without breaking.

  • @2jzgtejza80

WTF is a pneumatic valve spring and how does it work?

  • @designer1240

Pneumatic valve springs are metal bellows filled with compressed gas (mostly Nitrogen, but can be Argon as well) used as an alternative to the metal wire springs used to close valves in high-speed internal combustion engines. This system was introduced in the mid-1980s in Renault turbocharged 1.5 litre Formula One engines.

Del west is most known and best company for valve train products. Go to official web page; delwestusa

  • 445 faggots made a youtube account..

  • shit id trade my k20a2 for that imagin dat in my 94 eg, son of a bitch id be flying literally

  • @WestSideThuggN This does not make a single sense what so ever....
