It should be fine. Just as long as you stick with the .22 family of lr bullets. You should probably do some research on this question because I have heard this question before. I think the best thing to do is run test ammo through it to see how it reacts.
It seems like the bolt is very easy to move. I've got an older rifle (made around 1968) at home and when I pull the bolt back I feel some resistance as the hammer is being cocked. Is this a lubrication issue cause this thing is 50 years old or are older guns just like that?
Ok, it is a .22! I really don't think it is necessary to have a "normal" but pad on it because it has such little recoil. Also, you can buy "normal" but pads for them.
@GunsNstuf I got a question, The gun is chambered in .22LR but the .22 caliber has a high number of variants you can choose from? Is it ok to use hypervelocity rounds with the kind of barrel thats used because I've herd of bullets ruining the riffling in the barrel because of their high speeds.
Hey ..Did you say 20" barrel?? Manual said 22" (please check by tape measurement, thanks)
Where are the sights , I mean front sight (and rear sight) I can't see?? or the gun got no fire sights at all???
- What kind of scope did you have? Came with the gun?
- Is that Ok to shoot S, L and LR.
- Thanks for INFOS.
Good video and a BIG + is you speak slowly and made the guy speaking English as a second language like me easy to understand, special THANKS, most guys don't care about this!!
I noticed in an earlier comment you said "Great for hunting..coyotes" will it kill a coyote in one shot (heart, lung, vitals)? and where did you get the pouch on the butt stock?
finally this answes my question it is just like the 925 but with a better trigger. i had a 925 2 years ago and liked everything about it but the trigger. because if this i traded it for a used mini14. now that they improved the trigger im definitely getting another. i like savage 22s as well but the bolt on a marlin just feels better
Are those Weaver #12 front & rear bases? I'm looking to scope my XT-22 as well. I thought the iron sights were kinda garbage sadly, I mean they work, but not the greatest in the world. They don't make guns like they used to. Nice video though.
Can this really kill coyotes? I know i will get this type but i dont know if I should get a 17hmr or 22lr. I want something for squirrels, turkeys, and maybe a coyote. They are starting to come around my house. I have outside cats and im afraid the coyote will eat one.
@remoman i own one in .22WMR no creep and is adjustable down to 2.5lbs pull. thats a hair trigger and even with that and banging it into the ground it won't missfire the tigger safety keeps it from going off unless pulled even when the thumb safty is off. excelent rifle only problem is the stock is a little low.
it is ridiculous how we have to go through all expensive and burocratic procedures just to shoot a 22lr.
You have to be background checked, take a firearms "course", do a request in your local police department, have a sport license, wich requires being part of a firing club, ask formal permission to police to buy a gun and then registrating it.
just bought one two days ago, great rifle. i prefer using iron sights on it, its great for training new shooters on rifle basics. my barrel was already free float, what did u have to alter on yours?
@kevin92703 It's not recommended, because the caliber is kinda small for big game like that, but, a well placed shot could get it down, but I wouldn't use a .22 for deer.
@nuke295 Sportsmans Warehouse $201, Great for hunting rabbits, squirrels, coons, coyotes, and anything in between. No it didnt come with a scope. I put that on there.

The rifle seem very quiet. Did you need earplugs when you fired it?
crusader1492 6 months ago
@crusader1492 You should ALWAYS wear hearing protection when shooting, always.

@AmericaStandsStrong1 its a frickin .22lr bro....not necessary
PainTrane01 6 months ago
@PainTrane01 It doesn't matter. It's 120 decibels. Scientists say after 85db, you wanna wear hearing protection. Go deaf if you wanna.
