  • I have not used this sim, but from what I have seen I think orbiter is superior.

  • Hey can you make a video of STS 31 because i have a problem latching it

  • I'm having big problems with this rms arm buisness your videos resalution is a tad low any chance someones got this on say 720 or 1080 so i can see were you got the buttons set as when I followed the easy mode version i managed to somehow with the use of the joystick break the arm and it wouldnt work thus a scrub mission as the arm is obviously not conpaterble for a joystick.

  • @SkunkapeProductions This video is two years old as you might notice. the basics are still valid while the keyboard keys has changed. I'm not planning any more videos for the time being. I'm waiting to see the progress of SSMS2 (the sequal game) planned for Q4 2011.

if you don't mind some french. Cthulhus from the SSM forums has made an RMS tutorial a month ago with current version. you should be able to find it there easy, I can't post the link in the responce.

all the rest of my vids are 720.

  • Thanks for the tutorial this was most definitely helpful. I got stuck in STS-8 for awhile trying to figure out how to manipulate the different joints. I wish the comms would specify how to deactivate the grapple after a missed grapple. I'm sure almost everyone get stuck there.

  • @northroad1

you just need to "release" the RMS snare (Un-grapple) - check the manual for the correct key :)

  • I have a problem with the Deorbit mission

deactivate and stow the antenna ku right aft R11U/R11L set the switch to MAJ FUNC GNC AFT keypad enter spec 33 PRO

The problem is it does not continue what I'm doing wrong?

  • I have "played" ssm2007 till now, but something strange has happened... I was in Orbit and I had powered up the rms, Ku-Band antenna was deployed, radiators and the payload bay doors were opened.. so normaly nothing would happen at that altitude, but suddendly my shuttle, started a reentry, means, without any preparation the masteralarm tarted, nd the fire alarm, and the shutles windows were orange. what happened, i had not even pressed a button. and I wanted to finish a mission with hubble :(

  • Most likely your OMS2 Burn Attitude was off. causing the effect of a Deorbit burn rather then circularizing the Orbit.

check that next time you fly a mission.

  • I'm having trouble with sts117, I am handing over the s3/s4 truss and I have it in the right position and attitude except pitch is at 179.9 and not 180 but nothing is happening. If I adjust the pitch a bit it jumps to -179.9 but never locks on 180. Is it a glitch? I discovered in this sim

  • well, EE attitude isn't anything. make sure the EE positions is also correct.

    and 179.9 and -179.9 is OK :)

  • I do have it in the right position like I said, all XYZ cooridinates are an exact match to those outlined and I checked the cue card I found and the positions match to that too. Could it be that I took too long to get it there? I put it on timeskip for too long by accident and so took 10 hours of mission time to get from the bay to the hand over position

  • in this case it's probably upside down or something similar..

check Michael's checklists (available on the site download section or on the wiki), they have a screenshot sowing correct hand off. that should help.

  • Thanks, I downloaded the checklists and checked the position and attitude and they were the same. I also checked the joint angles but they were all off which is rather strange so I put the truss in position only using single drive mode for each joint angle and it worked. Thanks :)
