  • This made me smile. :)

  • I really do not get why people can't enjoy a jazz and classical fusion? Is it so hard to get set afire by music that you must listen to one type? Right now, I am making a vigilante attempt to have a (rap-hip hop) and (classical-jazz) combination.

  • classical musicians will hate this jazzy piece. but who cares? i really enjoy this!

  • i hate jazz...

  • HI! please.. in which cd is this song??

  • heyv man i am 16 im not that good at pIano but i have the sheetmusic to the master peice and when i sit down at my piano i practice this song section by section it is a very dificult but just start off slow and then by the time you have cracked the whole song try playing it faster it is working for me. also to improve how fast you can play the piano get your thum and tap it them your pinky finger then tap thum pinky thum pinki it helps. :0

  • where can I get the sheet music for this please tell me !!!

  • @LemonyTiger hi if you want give me your email and i can scan the sheet music for the original song but this peice has been arranged by the people who are seen in the video and i doubt they have published the sheet music

  • @MrJakelil hmm its ok I have a book of all of chopins etudes, I just really love this jazz version. I hope to one day I'll be able to play this by ear

  • Gimme the sheet man ;D

  • A.w.e.s.o.m.e

  • COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

  • I love it!

  • Brilliant!

  • Must be totally idiot to dislike this... -__-'

  • Great!

  • best shit ever

  • Marlboro Reds doggg! haha

  • Beautiful.

  • where is he going ?

  • I think Chopin would have like this

  • Hey wow !!!!!!

  • wow!

  • Tak chlopcie!

  • ‎...much better than any of this misunderstood, 'souped-up' baroque stuff..... any time!! The tempo and texture - and lightness of the music itself - lends itself to a slight natural and jazzy inégale..... Very convincing indeed!!!

  • malborki w kieszeni ! ha

  • insert Charles Chaplin or Peanuts here.

  • Amazing :D

Did you know Chopin also started the craze for hip hop? :|

  • it's fantastic! i hope i can learn the jazz version...

  • Not sure if I'd catalog this as jazz. more like ragtime/romantic piano... Oh wait, now that's jazz baby!!... Oh no wait... Ragtime??? Er..!! AHHHH!!........

    It's still friggin' awesome man!

  • Marvellous Marvellous Marvellous!!!

  • Wow great =D

  • im playing this piece:) along witih chopins prelude posthumus (not the one from the pianist haha)

  • Fantastic!:-)

  • pure fucken awesomeness!

  • Love it

  • this is music

  • This is absolutely mind blowing ._.

the buterfly étude is one of my favourite masterpieces, and adding jazz to the mixture is just... wow.

  • One of my favorite Chopin pieces all dressed up! Great rendition.

  • really an interesting piece!

  • amazing how such small rhythmic changes can change the song so much

  • Olejniczak i Jagodzinski w jednym projekcie, cos niesamowitego. Mogliby panowie usiasc, napic sie wodki i pomyslec o czyms wspolnym...

  • This is SO Super Mario. :P

  • haha nice

  • Fascinating. Jacques Loussier would definitely approve.

  • haha very nice

  • loved the transition!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great piece, great version, and great performance. My dad tried to make me into a fan of Chopin during my childhood. I'm glad that he finally succeeded before I graduated from high school. I almost never listen to jazz, but this was really good. It maintained the quality of the original.

  • Absolutely awsome. I totally love it.

  • Wow, that was way better than I expected. Nice!

  • @jazzyjimg me too!

  • I liked it. Even though it was Jazz. The reason I liked it , because it was very mature.. and they stayed with the original theme through the whole song.

  • this is so awesome

  • very very nice version =)

  • WOW.... such a great performance!!! =)

    I love it!!

  • i must have watched this 150 times. i love it!

  • je préfère de loin l'original dommage

  • is that chopin ? who is playing?

  • Great piano play, bad video editing job.

  • @mk181818 who cares? i don't watch this to appreciate the video editing, i watch it to appreciate the music.

  • świetnie + malborasy w butonierce...

  • awesome! awesome.!

I'm just playing it right now,and this video puts me in a right mood))

  • awesome, I knew Chopin was jazzer!

  • This piece is amazing! Thanks to Chopin for the inspiration. :-)

  • Man. That's tight. I've got those headphones @ 2:25! They're half off since they're older models so consider them if you're looking for quality headphones. They're AKG K240 Studio.

  • I think this is a piano duet, isn't it? We see Jagodzinski with beard and another pianist playing some of the running figurations.

  • Now this, this is cool.

  • nice kaau!

  • such an awesome rendition of it. sounds like something Dave Brubeck would do, classical with jazz :P

  • i imagine a 1920's NYC-like picture when i hear this. bustling streets, broadway, cheery attitudes, and top-hats. minus the GD, of course. very cool, i love it!

  • I play this throughout the day, for no matter what is happening in this sometimes mundane, troublesome and often extremely tedious life, when I hear this version I light up, my feet start dancing, I feel like a butterfly, i smile inside and out, everything is joy and happiness......Just love it !

PS Like miiicklyn.. is there sheet music available ? I do play the original but would love to play this version.

  • sheet music please?:D

  • the best reason to visit Poland :D

  • Thanks for putting a smile on my face. So cool!

  • Lol, when I saw Jazz Chopin, I was expecting some dude just messing around with the rhythm which would definitely be A MESS. But I enjoyed this arrangement. I don't mind jazz, just when people attempt to "jazz" up classical masterpieces.

I would have liked it better if it were longer... and a few more instruments would be nice.

  • no words.... 5 stars is all i can say!

  • Fantastic!!! Have you made a CD with other Chopin etudes in this jazzy style? And if you did, where can I buy it? And have you this piece on sheet music yet?

  • Andrzej Jagodzinski Trio - records

  • watch from 2:18 onward. the rest is good but its the original etude with the other instruments that i like the most.

  • Wooooaaah!!

    This is just freakin' awesome!!!

  • so cool

  • man i had shivers that whole time! but that's not unusual when I listen to Chopin

  • Wonderful, makes me so happy to listen to. I love jazz, i love chopins etudes, put them together and you have a masterpiece!!

If im ever down, ill listen to this and ill be happy again!

    C ya

    Adam

  • I love it!

  • AMAZING!!!!!!

  • amazing!

  • Better than Mozdzer's version I think.

  • Incredible! What a fantastic arrangement and performance.

  • Amazing!!! Mix Of My Favourite Etude And Jazz... Great!

  • So light and fun! I love it!

Especially the transition from classical to jazz :D

  • O my god haha CONGRATULATIONS!!

  • one of the coolest vids on utube, thanks Jakuda87, new dimension of Chopin's butterfly - my favorite etude (btw if anybody has a spare minute (and 12 sec) check out, please, my version of the piece, i'd be really grateful 4 any comment)

  • chopin-butterfly + jazz = totally awsomeness=]

  • Chopin- master of jazz :D

  • I really like this. It works surprisingly well as a jazz song.

  • Hahah

  • That was an amazing and very entertaining variation of the etude :)

  • that is fuckin awesome

  • Can't get enough of this. Every time I listen I can't keep from smiling and bopping my head along. My passions for both Chopin and jazz get combined into this brilliant tune.

  • I love it!!!

  • Janusz Olejniczak on the piano.

  • simply fantastic.are there other Chopin's etudes in jazz version?

  • yes, check Andrzej Jagodzinski Trio records

  • tks!!

  • Lovely! A nice pearly piano touch going on from the pianist.

  • This is a joy to listen to!

I remember competing in the Stravinsky Awards (Champaign-Urbana, IL, USA) in 1996 as a teen. I don't know how but listening to this is getting me to wax nostalgic....we would go into the practice rooms in the evenings not to practice, but to be creative pianistically. This playful, cool&blues rendition of this etude rocks! This is it, man. Your music makes my head dance.

  • hahaha. on a scale of 5 stars i give it 10!!!!

  • Is there any way that you could email me the piano parts????

  • I have only original version

  • @Jakuda87 please can you send me the piano parts ?? the original....thanks :D

  • Great!!! I love Chopin Jazz! :D

  • lol, chopin would love it I think.

  • you achieve something marvellous!mixing this master piece with jazz is something very risky, but you up to it ! marvellous! marvellous !you are very talent brAVO TO ALL

  • I must have listened to this a hundred times by now. If Chopin could hear this awesome rendition, it'd bring a smile to his face.

Where can I get this tune, by the way?

  • google or p2p. Type Andrzej jagodzinski trio- butterfly etude

  • > If Chopin could hear this awesome rendition, it'd bring a smile to his face.

Believe it or not, I dreamt last night, where Frederic came up behind me while I watched this vid, and he said: "Interdire pour les droits ruinés" --Flag it for the ruined rights.

  • incredible

  • absolutely great!!

  • GREAT!!! Truely Jazz! Authentic Chopin!

  • wow..wow..wow.. are you arrange it by your self? Chopin become jazz...

  • Wonderful.

  • my god I love this interpretation. I've listened to this about 100 times now today. so incredible. I love it

thanks you for this wonderful jazz interpretation

  • this type of thing is extraordinarily hard to pull off, and these gentlemen have done so on the highest level.

    bravo!

  • incredible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • WOW! just wow. This is amazing.

  • Nice work. In what year did Chopin compose this?

  • yeaaah!

  • It's beautiful.. nice, the best :-)

  • lovely

  • I'm so depressed... I understand some people perfer jazz to classical, but the people that perfer classical above all as sacred music directly inspired from god just weep at this.

  • does anyone know if there is the transcription for the piano of this version?!?

    Thanks!!!!

  • Very very good version of Chopin's Etude!

  • woohoo!! amazing! only when you feel the music inside your blood and you "stomach" and you have an enormous background of music knowledge you can "remake" a maserpiece like that!!!!

    BRAVOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • you are genius

  • Where can I find a recording!! ??? (to buy)
