I really do not get why people can't enjoy a jazz and classical fusion? Is it so hard to get set afire by music that you must listen to one type? Right now, I am making a vigilante attempt to have a (rap-hip hop) and (classical-jazz) combination.
heyv man i am 16 im not that good at pIano but i have the sheetmusic to the master peice and when i sit down at my piano i practice this song section by section it is a very dificult but just start off slow and then by the time you have cracked the whole song try playing it faster it is working for me. also to improve how fast you can play the piano get your thum and tap it them your pinky finger then tap thum pinky thum pinki it helps. :0
@LemonyTiger hi if you want give me your email and i can scan the sheet music for the original song but this peice has been arranged by the people who are seen in the video and i doubt they have published the sheet music
@MrJakelil hmm its ok I have a book of all of chopins etudes, I just really love this jazz version. I hope to one day I'll be able to play this by ear
...much better than any of this misunderstood, 'souped-up' baroque stuff..... any time!! The tempo and texture - and lightness of the music itself - lends itself to a slight natural and jazzy inégale..... Very convincing indeed!!!
Not sure if I'd catalog this as jazz. more like ragtime/romantic piano... Oh wait, now that's jazz baby!!... Oh no wait... Ragtime??? Er..!! AHHHH!!........
Olejniczak i Jagodzinski w jednym projekcie, cos niesamowitego. Mogliby panowie usiasc, napic sie wodki i pomyslec o czyms wspolnym...
Great piece, great version, and great performance. My dad tried to make me into a fan of Chopin during my childhood. I'm glad that he finally succeeded before I graduated from high school. I almost never listen to jazz, but this was really good. It maintained the quality of the original.
I liked it. Even though it was Jazz. The reason I liked it , because it was very mature.. and they stayed with the original theme through the whole song.
Man. That's tight. I've got those headphones @ 2:25! They're half off since they're older models so consider them if you're looking for quality headphones. They're AKG K240 Studio.
i imagine a 1920's NYC-like picture when i hear this. bustling streets, broadway, cheery attitudes, and top-hats. minus the GD, of course. very cool, i love it!
I play this throughout the day, for no matter what is happening in this sometimes mundane, troublesome and often extremely tedious life, when I hear this version I light up, my feet start dancing, I feel like a butterfly, i smile inside and out, everything is joy and happiness......Just love it !
PS Like miiicklyn.. is there sheet music available ? I do play the original but would love to play this version.
Lol, when I saw Jazz Chopin, I was expecting some dude just messing around with the rhythm which would definitely be A MESS. But I enjoyed this arrangement. I don't mind jazz, just when people attempt to "jazz" up classical masterpieces.
I would have liked it better if it were longer... and a few more instruments would be nice.
Fantastic!!! Have you made a CD with other Chopin etudes in this jazzy style? And if you did, where can I buy it? And have you this piece on sheet music yet?
one of the coolest vids on utube, thanks Jakuda87, new dimension of Chopin's butterfly - my favorite etude (btw if anybody has a spare minute (and 12 sec) check out, please, my version of the piece, i'd be really grateful 4 any comment)
Can't get enough of this. Every time I listen I can't keep from smiling and bopping my head along. My passions for both Chopin and jazz get combined into this brilliant tune.
I remember competing in the Stravinsky Awards (Champaign-Urbana, IL, USA) in 1996 as a teen. I don't know how but listening to this is getting me to wax nostalgic....we would go into the practice rooms in the evenings not to practice, but to be creative pianistically. This playful, cool&blues rendition of this etude rocks! This is it, man. Your music makes my head dance.
@informe0especial You can download this and other great classical pieces at the International Music Score Library Project - all legal and everything! (Old editions in the public domain). imslp.org
