I had to look around for a while, looking for the KORG - DS game for the DS. It was well worth all the time I spent.

The amount of instruments, drums and effect in this "Game" is almost UNLIMITED. You can also save up to 20 Slots that you can pre-compose and save it. Thereby adding more to your composition, at the push of a button.

I mean, the instruction book is 50 pages.

yes, but only three effects, and the effects aren't that versatile.

On the Kaos pad there's those three buttons at the top left of the screen, and each of those have two effects; up and down, and left and right. So that's six. But ALSO, if you're in the third tab, and you push "Set" it gives you 27 options for effects. That's 27 different combinations, as you can change Kaoss X Basic Ionian, or whole notes, thirds, fifths, octaves, or some fun ones like 'Hawaii', or "pelog", etc. It's versatile ENOUGH for me at least.

A lot! This is literally a virtual hand-held pocket analogue modeling synth! You got a 4 part drum machine with 2 synth parts giving the DS-10 a poly count of 6 voices! This little app is based on a popular synth Korg released in the late 70's called the MS-10. It's worth every penny and you'd be surprised at the patches you can create with this thing! I can't put mine down and it's a great tool when I can't get to my big synths. IT'S NOT A GAME!

You can do quite a bit more with this than what hes doin. You can throw together several parts on their own, then arrange them as part of a song as you wish, You aren't stuck with one loop like this.

Pattern option. I don't know exactly how everything about it works, but basically you can switch between patterns with just a tap, and it can hold up to 16 patterns.

Not sure how to autoplay them, but one cool thing is that you can copy patterns so you'll have a basic pattern for your new one.

The sound quailty is relies on the speakers you use. stand DS speakers wouldn't be great but you can plug any 1/4 plug to it. even a whole pa system.

yea this isnt exacly and impresive sounding video I will agree to that but I think the goal of this video is to just show how it works and what it can do.

In my personal experience working with the Korg DS 10 I have found it is quite capable of amazing sounds and in the rite hands could keep a dance club happy all night long.

People are still figuring out new ways to use it too. Like I will sometimes sacrifice a useless drum track to add in a third harmony.

This video is only showing one loop which is being modified in various ways.. you can have up to 16 loops and arrange them into a song. and if your good enough, you effectively double it to 32 by making the chords change each time the loop is played..

This hasn't been around as long as you may think..., or should I say around in certain parts of the world that long. The DS-10 originally was set to be released in JAPAN only. It didn't reach the united states till late 2008. Amazon was shipping it in November. The rest of the world wasn't supposed to even get this, but enough of us made a huge fuss over it that Japan decided to do a worldwide release. This hasn't even been out in Japan for a year either.

I just got mine last night! Oh man this thing ROCKS! I'm still geekin out over this little music app. Never would I have thought in 2008 I'd have a pocket Korg MS-10. I've been playing keys for almost 30 years now. I'm beside myself with this little pocket synth. They packed a lot into it, and there's a lot more in there than people realize.
