This is not a lie this is TRUE, I was so happy when they said Far Cry 3 was coming and you know what? I cried in rage because my computer can't run it.
Me and my brother played this game since the day it came out almost it's also our favorite game and we're big fans of it and now I can't even play Far Cry 3.
Hope you guys got a good time spending weeks on Far Cry 3.
@TheDnb74 First they both focus on an open world where the player can choose missions to progress an overall story, then the protagonists were betrayed and left wounded but didn't die. Instead, they survived and revenged, like carl johnson who killed ryan and big smoke, far cry characters who killed Leon Gakumba after being saved by jackal. But what I mean is the missions are mainly assassinating and killing, yeah, you can say buddy missions are more interesting, come on , there are only a few

@Scalleta i agree. i was a bit disappointed that they decided to leave africa. The thing about africa is that. not only does it provide an amazing backdrop aesthetically for a game, but it also has a very interesting geo-political setting; the turmoil, grittiness, and horrors of the conflicts would make for a very emotional story. FC2 had so much potential...its a shame they didnt take advantage of it...

They had this really exotic beautiful but violent setting they could have used to craft out this really good story but they just didnt put the effort into it. The story was just filler really, it was only there just so you'd have a reason to go here kill this person, blow up that person etc.
Personally the problem I see is that easy, but I play it on normal so I could just make it more difficult. And the game is beautiful and just so fun to explore. I just kinda wish it was possible to stealth kill without everyone knowing.
I like Far Cry 2, great story, great music, great guns and you can create an map....I love that time in 2010 summer when i was playing this game, it was fucking hot summer.
I sold Farcry 2 a while back but I decided to get it again not too long ago. Honestly I don't regret it. It's a great game, the malaria can be a hassle. But it's always gunna be a five star game for me. Anyone that didn't like it either doesn't like challenges, aren't good at following directions, or just plain suck a first person shooters.
This game had so much potential, seems like another game where a brilliant engine was made with a story thrown in there somewhere. I mean "This is a secret mission, everyone will shoot at you." How convienient. If it actually made you make hard choices about being a mercenary and who you choose to fight for, it could've been spectacular. Imagine picking a faction and they offer you a job to burn down a village of innocent people, but give you the choice to choose another job.
Far Cry 2 is such a phenomenal, yet flawed game. It's single focus was putting you in the shoes of your avatar, so that with no other stimulus, you become emotionally invested in the world, if only because it's YOU in that world. Three guards are patrolling the area surrounding your dying friend that just risked his life to save you, and you have to decide whether or not to take down those guards with what little health you have left and save your friend, or get the hell out of dodge.
And that children, is what we call emergent narrative. Exclusive to interactive entertainment and found in so very few games. THAT is why Far Cry 2 is one of the best games of this generation.
@anthonyjh63 i totally understand you when this happens, the first time i was called by reuben to go back to mike's bar to protect and help all my buddies (shortly before act 2 happens) i didnt know that THEY ALL had to die :(. So after that happened, and i was done killing the bastard prosper quassi i went all the way back to pala and shot 5 flares up into the sky..... it was really touching me :P... but it still was sad...
ahhhh WE NEED TO BRING FARCRY BACK ONLINE!!! i want to play on epic maps! i want to sniper and catch people on fire! i want to get ina car, get shot out of the car, get blown up, and pull a bar out of my stomach!

The only thing that got this game down was the repetitive nature of the missions, dodgy driving mechanics and the fact it took a whole clip of ammo just to kill one guy.
this game does have its drawbacks but it does have alot of good things too ...if u can tweak those flaws i believe you have a popular game that will blow almost any other games outa the water
I found this to an excellent game, fantastic visuals, supreme realism(weapons rust/jam) good weapon selection and upgrades, and a very in depth map editor. I agree with all you others. this game could have been so much better. I mean like so much more and longer gameplay. Also it sucks that you need to do like boring missions too get weapons. But great ai and map editor and grapichs. I love this game. The ending could also have been better, it was just so bad to be an bad ending. Ill hope it will come a farcry 3. with the same good ais and map editor. Also a longer gameplay.. Thanks. Btw i love hunting down enemies with the sniper :D
@xgjengen Agreed. And I really do hope they improve the map maker(I still play the 1st Far Cry's map maker xP) and improve the stealth. My god, Far Cry 2's stealth was horrible, an amazing game regardless, but still. :P
When playing I felt like I was there, in the wilderness, I could feel the burning sun, and the wet jungle. The game setting is perfect! Pity that authors screw up so many things:( Additional missions are the worst:( Destroy the convoy for new weapons, kill someone for diamonds, and over and over. I also missed any diversity among the people you meet outside town. Pity that everyone just wants to shoot you on sight. The game could have been so much better...
@alphaes01 at some point i thought i had shot the wrong people because everyone was hostile to me but in the end i realized the game is set so. It's a bit diapointing but the landscapes and the music are still worth it
I love both Crysis and Far Cry 2 and I'm not sure which is a better follow-on from Far Cry, but every time I hear this I can't help but say Far Cry 2.
I hope that Far Cry 3 pulls no punches and includes more civilians, more moral ambiguity, less respawning guards and less repetitiveness. Then you've got an easy 10/10.
far cry 2, briliant action, wonderful environment, awesome map editor, excellent AI, if they just got rid of the repetitive story and gave it a little bit more variety this could possibly be the most briliant, awesome, wonderful and excellent shooter ever made. 9/10
This game had so much wasted potential. What could have been a thought provoking multi path shooter ended up as a buggy mess with barely a story to speak of.
@YasserCrackafat I thought it was pretty damn good, though they were some flaws in the game. Story was pretty cool though, but you can't really expect anything too great, I mean it's a video game, not a movie.
@TheDarkStarman The story was non-existant and full of plot holes. Where were those supposed citizens they talked about saving? I was really anticipating this game and it fell flat on it's face. They flat out lied about some of the hyped features.
@indieDELUXE I totally agree. I just love that feeling of being in a no-mans land where nothing is sacred, it has tons of atmosphere for those who can appreciate such things.

Oh, and every single npc you encounter is hostile so you waste extra time killing everything that moves.

I never played such a great game.. realy this is one of the best 1st person games I ever played, you can even imagine beeing there ( if you use 3d technology it's...*o*! ). This was a great game. Featuring vast, diverse environments and a cast of memorable characters, this game is the most in-depth first-person-shooter that I have ever played.

I love both Crysis and Far Cry 2 and I'm not sure which is a better follow-on from Far Cry, but every time I hear this I can't help but say Far Cry 2.
I hope that Far Cry 3 pulls no punches and includes more civilians, more moral ambiguity, less respawning guards and less repetitiveness. Then you've got an easy 10/10.

far cry 2, briliant action, wonderful environment, awesome map editor, excellent AI, if they just got rid of the repetitive story and gave it a little bit more variety this could possibly be the most briliant, awesome, wonderful and excellent shooter ever made. 9/10

This game had so much wasted potential. What could have been a thought provoking multi path shooter ended up as a buggy mess with barely a story to speak of.

@YasserCrackafat I thought it was pretty damn good, though they were some flaws in the game. Story was pretty cool though, but you can't really expect anything too great, I mean it's a video game, not a movie.

@TheDarkStarman The story was non-existant and full of plot holes. Where were those supposed citizens they talked about saving? I was really anticipating this game and it fell flat on it's face. They flat out lied about some of the hyped features.

this game is awesome and amazing with its realism. the only reason i dont play it as much is a single horrible flaw.
the AI respawn waaay to quickly and i was over pressured because just getting around was a fight to the death all the time.
it was a fun fight to the death though i gotta admit.... 8.5/10 in my opinion

@senfliebhaber Yeah LONGEST because half the fucking game is driving the gay little jeep from one location on the map to another to repeat the same mission types for no apparent over-arching goal whatsoever. Oh, and every single npc you encounter is hostile so you waste extra time killing everything that moves.

I never played such a great game.. realy this is one of the best 1st person games I ever played, you can even imagine beeing there ( if you use 3d technology it's...*o*! ). I'll never regret the money I spent to buy this game... it's a shame that not too many people know this game.. but those who know will never play such a fantastic game

2 things that i dislike in the game....
1.the guys are REALLY resistent, how can anyone survive from a golden AK47 on the face?!
2.and the death animations, are like 2! the guys drop his gun and fall backs

( I think the 2nd thing is fixed with one patch, but I'm not shure). the first is realy anoying.. I shot one guy in the heart and guess what... he trew a molotov at me..... man aftr that I think I never shot so many bullets into a person before!! either way..... THE GAME ROCKS!!!
