He also holds a number of patents and has applied for additional ones this year. Rossi's current partner, Sergio Focardi, used to work with Piantelli. Of course, that does not mean Rossi's device really workds but his work is not without credible precedent. Hopefully, Piantelli will succeed if Rossi does not..
FYI, I just discovered that important posts are blocked on Rossi's blog. The post was kind. It clarified that Nelson from NASA & friends don't represent NASA, & NASA has nothing to do with Rossi. Nelson & his friends work on their own. They don't use NASA equipment. NASA won't publish such results, as NASA has nothing to do with it.
Rossi spends much time working his blog when he should be in the lab. I believe Rossi is a faker that results in severely harming LENR / Cold Fusion research.
@TheCurve99 It would be great *if* NASA included LENR research, but that's a huge if. There are far better examples than Rossi for bragging about LENR. Rossi won't let scientists analyze the reactor. You say he's in it for the $. Well that's what NDA's are for. There are good scientists who welcome notable academic scientists to analyze their LENR experiments. IMO it's a shame so many people have brought so much attention to Rossi.

@energytruth Well at least thanks for stating that these are only your opinions. Yet, I must point out that people with PhDs in physics have stated with relative certainty that the effect is not caused by a chemical reaction. The reactor is too small to hold any known chemical that would produce that much heat. Let me state categorically that it may still be a fake but all KNOWN methods of faking the reaction have been ruled out. Be wise and wait for more definitive data before deciding.
@TheCurve99 I haven't seen any calculations for E-Cat versus high energy fuels. I just read a report that showed the E-Cat produced 6.25 kWH of excess energy. Of the top of my head I know there are fuels that would produce ~ 10 kWH per 10^3 cm of fuel, and I'm certain there are fuels with much more energy.
I think the recent statement by Rossi destroys any hope for the October demo. He's not going to allow academic scientists to analyze the reactor.

Krivit is basically making the same assertion. He is attempting to dispute Rossi by measuring INVISIBLE steam with a 12 minute low-res video. Seriously? Rossi will allow scientists to examine his device for 2 months and make their own measurements. If they see inside the reactors is largely irrelevant.

@energytruth Rossi is not being open because he is trying commercialize his device, not have it validated thru scientific channels that are as corrupt as any in government. Unlike most "free energy thugs", from day one he has stated his product will be ready for the market by the end of October. That is only 2 months from now. If still nothing by then, criticism will be valid and he is probably a fraud. I don't think waiting 2 months before abandoning ship is too much to ask.

I've tracked this story since the 80s and heard about the US Navy experiments a number of years ago - it's all available, the Navy have not covered it up in any way - you just need to go look for the information. They have officially stated that they have recorded excess energy (heat) - FACT!

@energytruth New Energy Times quoted Michael Nelson thusly about the whole affair. You might actually find it encouraging.
Nelson explained that he was trying to open avenues for new research at NASA, including LENR research.
"LENR is another avenue. It's not just about Rossi," Nelson said, "If the Rossi thing doesn't happen, then maybe something else will."
"Rossi has brought a lot of attention to the field. Any researchers who have a legitimate claim are going to benefit from this."

I don't think scientists should be crucified because other scientists can't replicate a new technology immediately. That's basically what happened to Fleischmann and Pons.
