This isnt a glitch, you can do this with any movie in the game. just swap the disc and it will play the parallel video from the different disc.

Having different cutscenes when you switch discs isn't really a glitch, the game is written across all three discs. Gameplay is normal, but the cutscenes are different. Due to disc 1 of mine being so scratched up to where it freezes at dark load screens (like when it goes to the map), I tend to start or load a game with disc one then switch.

lol, how did i know that was going to happen... this happens in several places throughout the game (pretty much anywhere a cutscene happens)

also, that cutscene isn't at the end of disc 2 it's about 1/3 of the way through. :P

No, it is not amazing. everybody knows that the entire game is written individually to all three discs and you can swap them about before cut scenes to see this effect. its barely worth mentioning as a glitch. This is a FAIL worthy video...

Working as intended. not a glitch.

The game uploads all required data into the console's RAM, thereby allowing you to continue gameplay to an extent with a different disc. When the game is instructed to play a certain FMV, it doesnt choose the specific clip, instead the location of said clip on the correct disc. Swapping discs will run whatever sequence is located in the same location on a different disc.

For example, cosmo canyon animations first visit disc1 = rocket launch disc 2

@Sceysch Yeah, I know what you are talking about. It would show the FMV video from that spot in Disc 2, in place of that spot in Disc 1. I did it when my first playstation started having problems reading Disc 1, so I would play through parts 1 and 2 with Disc 2(but the FMV sequence was all out of whack).

With FFVIII, if you take out disc 1 on the Intro sequence and swap it with disc 3, it will cut out and start playing the Lunar Tear sequence.

This isnt really a glitch.

All the data of FF7 is on all the discs. Meaning you could actually play the whole game of FF7 on any disc.

The only thing that is different are the FMV's.

That is why that FMV played instead of the one that was supposed to play.

yeah, i heard bout this glitch, in theory evry disc has the full game on it, except for the integrated films in it, so basicly u can play disc 1 to 3 with only 1 disc but with the films all mixed

that's true, all three discs have the full game imbedded on them. My first disc is scratched beyond playability, so when the first section of the game is played (first disc), I load my game on te first discand then switch with the second one.

try this sometime, when you first get to junon and cloud goes down the big platform, watch what happens when you have the second disc in.

this is hardly a hack. this is just how the game reads the discs. for the cut scene, it just uses which ever cut scene comes in that order. and by switching discs, the Saphire weapon attack happens to be the first cut scene.

so not even a mega glitch, just a minor glitch

i was on junon town, i took the elevator (swapped cd3 with cd2), and i saw the "cloud gives the black materia to sephiroth" fmv instead of the "elevator" movie xD

the game itself is on 1 disc but the movies are different on every disc.

Its hella fun to do it though, isn't it? I used to name Cloud as 'Blow me'. Needless to say, it provides some added humor through the game. President Shinra asks his name, and his response is for the president to blow him. Its a shame I only name characters the default name nowadays...

This is nothing weird, actually.

After doing a lot of PSX hacking etc., I know that Disc 1 and 2 have the same names for the videos.

Like, for example, the first cutscene/video on disc one is called CUTSCENE001, and on the second disc the first cutscne/video is also called CUTSCENE001.

So when the game tries to read CUTSCENE001, it just opens it, BUT, not the one from the right disc.

Do you actually get to continue the game in that Junon part in the Disc 2? It looks for me like only the cutscene changed and you get to play the rest of the Disc 1 normally, since the music stayed and the scene stopped earlier than it should :/

actually your right the cutscene just changes i did by complete mistake though my game kept freezing every time i used a limit break but i figured out that u could use disk2 to play disk 1 but the cut scenes would be different so i made this video to see wat people would say and so far you figured it out and this tye1218 asshole just pissed me off
