This scoreboard used to have muti-colored flood lights that would shine against the white side wings, before more advertising for Pepsi was painted on that area. Actually the lights went out of use many years before that, and I always wondered why. They used to alternately flash (or kind of "twinkle") as Jane Jarvis played the Thomas organ between innings. Perhaps after Jane died and they started blasting music over the speakers was when that stopped. Why, oh God, Whyyyyy?!
Hello sidneyrosenberg: I Use To Live In NY ......It's Soooo Amazing On How Fast NY Knocks Down Great Memories.
I Was Also Wondering Does This Mean That The Parking Lot They Are Now Building Is Going To Cost $100.00 Per Car Just To Pay For The Demolition & Construction????
It is sad to see this go, but a piece of it still remains in Citi Field.
If you go to the "Taste of the City" food section behind the center field scoreboard, you'll find the familiar Mets City Skyline attached to the top; which, as any Met fan would know, once sat atop the Shea Stadium scoreboard.
I said this hoping that it would take some of the pain away from seeing this video.
coming from a phillis fan this is tough to see, i think shea was still a nice stadium and it is sad to see it go, i was fortunate enough to make my first visit to it this year
