I really respect that he didn't solo on this. Many times soloing can be seen as something Selfish; something focused on the player. Selfish is even way too extreme of a word but solos really are for the player; in this case he wrote this for Zach & the shows theme so by leaving it only Verse, Chorus & Rhythm, it lets the song be about Who/What it was intended for. A solo would distract that & I think he understood that as well. It would sound cool but that's not what this is about. Respect.
