  • So graceful - and so good to see a man dancing too - what fantastic music and fun. Thanks for this cultural insight.

  • excellent. thanks Tariq for sharing.

  • Somebody shoot me please....what is this?

  • @cascaret Do the world a favor and shoot yourself. The rest of us are far to busy to waste our time on primitive, ignorant idiots such as you who have no resoect for other people's culture.

  • @TRUTHTEACHER2007 Lord have mercy, what the f... is this shit?.....

  • @cascaret Ask Chango and see what he tells you.

  • @TRUTHTEACHER2007 He's already told me that you suck donkey balls

  • @cascaret No, no, you got it wrong. I guess you're Yoruba isn't that good. This is what he told you: watch?v=MNQ5V740LDY

  • This video makes me home sick. My father was from Asute in the south.

  • do they make asute material anymore?

  • Asute is a city in middle of Egypt. It is 2 hours drive from Cairo.

  • sorry i meant suite. when the silver is beaten into material.

  • They still make assuit scarfs and dresses, you can usually find it on e-bay.

Wonderful video, thank you for posting.

  • lol sorry more like 6 hours by train!!!! Asute is in Upper Egypt!!

  • Very educational and interesting. Where are all these men that teach our children this ethnic dances?

  • its nice not to see a man hishek bishek lol. love the sa3idi people:)

  • @masriaof2 What is hishek bishek? Stereotype (Western?) of Arab culture? What would be exmples of it, especially related to dance? I ask because i'm trying to learn Raqs Assaya, but don't want to make Arabic people roll their eyes and say "hishek bishek" if they see me.

  • Great!!!!!!

  • Thank you so much for these vids. I'm a professional musician in the US-- I think that by sharing this art you work to bring peace and understanding to the world. Please continue to bring us these beautiful videos.

  • Thank you Osman Balatta a wonderful dance that represents the beautiful earthy rythm of the Eyptian people and men. I do not often see male dance - beautiful.

  • Tarik ,

    Thanks for the wonderful education.

As always, I appreciate knowing the details.

  • I've been waiting for a long time to see a good, raw example of this dance. Thank you very much for posting this!

  • great vid, im going to do the egptian stick dance this weekend at the club.

  • Osman was quite delicious, joyful, extrovert, liquid movements, salted finely with humour. But it's your comments rally that allow us to receive the performance in full. Thanks a lot for that!
