great groove held down by Willie,Ian,Steve,Chris, and Tim.Yet another great interpretation of a Clapton classic.Derek fills in for Duane quite nicely and the second verse and Ad-libs by Doyle are also a highlight.great stuff all the way around!
Brilliant. This man's interpretations of the blues are amazing. Unlike so many younger guitarists, he is always gracious enough to acknowledge his influences & pay homage to the guys who virtually invented blues music.
I also feel that Claptons vocals are criminally underrated.
I cannot believe there is only 12 ratings on here. I also wonder just how much money they could make playing for say 45-60 minutes in a New York subway....hhmmmm...might be a start for such young kids as these...:) :) :D!!!!! (For those who don't know any better~~these guys are legends and heroes! You should buy at least one cd of everyone who've played a Crossroads tourr, and listen and love. You won't be disappointed!).
The 2007 Crossroads Guitar Festival was held at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Illinois on July 28, 2007. Tickets were estimated as sold out for the 28,000 capacity park in 22 minutes.
The festivals benefit the Crossroads Centre founded by Eric Clapton, a drug treatment center located in Antigua. The concerts are also intended to be a showcase for a variety of guitarists. All were hand-picked by Eric Clapton himself, who addressed the 2007 audience, saying that each were some of the very best, and those who had earned his respect.
2/3 Lotsa Power, Love & Life coming from that stage Eric Clapton - Guitar & Vocals Doyle Bramhall II - Guitar & Vocals Derek Trucks - Guitar Willy Weeks - Bass Steve Jordan - Drums Ian Thomas - Drums Chris Stainton - Keyboards Tim Carmon - Keyboards Michelle John - Backing Vocals Sharon White - Backing Vocals
*Eric has been looking for talented *unknown musicians for the past year, he's the kinda guy who thrives on giving them exposure and experience. I recieved posts by the man himself on many occasions and passed them along, hopefully some of those benefit from this today.

Clapton just soars on his solo! Derek tears it up pretty good at the end - I just wish they would have traded a bit back and forth.
